Yay! By "bring a song" you mean in the chat when you are live or beforehand?

Zedd (Zack) Sully

I’m suggesting some Bjork “Play Dead”, if that one doesn’t work out Imogen Heap “Getting Scared”

Travis Hyde

I won't be able to attend but I'd love to catch a replay with thoughts on guns of summer by coheed and cambria. The drumming is kinda wild.

Muir Lyman

Just my 2 cents: I really appreciate you doing this on a Sunday, since I just started a M-F job.

And where the best place to suggest a song? In a comment here on Patreon?

You can just submit a song now if you know your pick!

"Themata" by Karnivool [https://youtu.be/ke1DVI6oDAY] This band is amazing. Reminiscent of something between early Breaking Benjamin and Ænima-era Tool, dripping with what is likely modal melodic lines, and killer vocal harmonies.

Kai Ellis

I love that band so much

The song "I Can't Make You Love Me" is my pick for most heartbreaking song of all time. The Bonnie Rait original is stellar, but George Michael's rendition is the one I reach for, and this live performance in particular is the one I'd like to hear you react to. https://youtu.be/QbWJO8RMg1A

The Ruby Suns - Futon Fortress [https://youtu.be/p416gIWv2rE] love the randomness of these streams and its always insightful seeing how you dig into stuff on the fly. Doing great work! *edited* sorry can't help myself recommending the live kexp version! Yellow shirt and yellow guitar in the thumbnail. Maybe a bit vocally stripped down compared to the album cut but it just comes thru so well with the live drums imo.. 0:00:14 to skip intro

Perfect here is my suggestion: Agnes Obel - Fuel To Fire (David Lynch Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNV28kwDWHA She's a danish singer song writer which I adore (saw her live a cupple of times here) and David Lynch actually remixed one of her songs. All about the mood.

“Disarm” by The Smashing Pumpkins

Ruthie Ward

In honor of Andy Fletcher, who just passed away today: Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

Beguile

Bonus round, my good friend's one-take cover of Disarm - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVj4IFyH-po (same close friend who wrote/played the guitar part for Pusicfer's Momma Sed & sang backing Vocal's with Maynard on Momma Sed & The Undertaker (+ all her original work & other one-take covers of course, all worth checking out imo!)) Billy Corgan even shared this cover on his facebook page, so it's officially S.P. approved! ;)

Kai Ellis

Love this song so much

To no one's surprise I hereby submit a Lingua Ignota song, but this one has a very different vibe from the ones you've listened to so far. No vocal harmonies at all, but plenty of beautiful and unusual chords in the instrumental. Also, this is the only song that makes me cry almost every single time I listen to it, even after a year. I‘m happy to be able to join the party today… since I already suggested songs for the last party which didn‘t match - my mistake - :) , I‘m going to stick with one of those, so either Björk „Unravel“ or Queens Of The Stone Age „Fortress“

Zsolt Török

Such a beautiful song (and music video), OMG!

Zedd (Zack) Sully

I’m so happy you loved my Bjork suggestion. It’s probably one of my favorites in her catalog. So epic!

KEXP is one of a few radio stations I keep an eye on to see stripped down touring bands.. futon fortress is dramatically different even in instrumentation from the album(i.e. no guitar). often i find raido shows will be mixed fairly well and intimate.. the nin and peter murphy performance is standout. Great to see your thoughts and funny you say they seemed a bit lost in idea. If they piqued your interest that album in whole is a complete masterpiece and their most solid.. for me. The Ruby Suns - Christopher. Missed it live but great stream w glitches and all!
