SEPTEMBER Patreon Musician Challenge (Patreon)

CLARIFICATIONS: 

You don't have to use both loops - they are very different styles and tempos. I wanted to give you options but in the future I won't do this because it's confusing!

You are encouraged to add your own elements, chop things up, do literally anything you want.

Email me your submissions as either an audio file or a link to ixi@iximusic.com by the end of this month, time of day/time zone doesn't matter, as long as I have them by October 1st.

For this challenge we're going to do things a little differently! Instead of giving you a scale or a chord progression, I'm giving you 2 loops from unfinished songs of my own that you can choose from and make something new with! LINK 

One is a drum groove, and the other is chords. They are from different songs and not even sure they can sound good together but you're welcome to try. You don't have to use both loops, just giving you options!

The drum groove is at 125 bpm with a pickup bar - meaning there is an additional "lead in" bar before it kicks in (you don't have to keep that part)

The chords are in the key of E - mostly major but there's a part at the end of the progression where it goes to E minor. There may be other keys where these chords sound good, but if you're not sure, sticking to E is a safe bet. There's no tempo. 

If you'd like to participate, please have something ready to go by the end of the month (September 30th), which gives you nearly 2 weeks if you start today! There are no rules for how you use the loop(s). To submit, please email me at ixi@iximusic.com with a link or file of your submission. 

Instead of a livestream, I'll be recording a video of me listening to the submissions which will be posted here on Patreon in early October! I will not make it public without your permission. Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!
