First KONTAKT (Patreon)

On my "making music" day this week, I hung out with Steven Alexander from The Black Queen! Here's a pic from Billy Howerdel's solo tour this summer. He's currently on tour as a guitar tech for Smashing Pumpkins!

If you're not familiar with The Black Queen, it's Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Steven (above), and Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv, Puscifer tour member). Check out The Still Point Of My Turning World and The End Where We Start.

We talked about music for a few hours and he's down to record a video with me at some point which I think y'all will really enjoy. He hooked me up with some Valhalla plugins and they sound so good! Hopefully a musical collaboration will happen at some point too. I feel really lucky to be making these connections and I think cool things will continue to come of it!

Later that evening I played around with some of my new sample libraries and Kontakt (I know only enough to get sounds to come out). The video above is a sampling of what I made. There are some ideas in there I want to flesh out for film & video game music!
