Not sure I've seen something by Tori Amos here, would love to get Your take on her. So here's my request: Tori Amos - Spark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wAZKp93bQ8 The crescendo here is particularly captivating, the buildup to it, then the piano breakdown. Anything with her live band is amazing (Sessions at West 54th, '98 performances), but they're all past the 5 minute mark. So a bit of backstory: I'm a bass player, big Tool fan. I think my first contact was seeing her with Maynard singing "Muhammad, My Friend"; went through her catalogue, loved most of it, but *really* love her older live versions. It's Matt Chamberlain on drums and Jon Evans on bass. Their beats are just t i g h t.

I really wish the live performance of "Caught a Lite Sneeze" was on streaming services as it's my favorite. She really erupted on that Sessions performance. Also, Spark is my favorite of hers.

Thank you so much Ixi, that Night breakdown was much more than I expected and very much appreciated. Means a lot :) There are several things I got from that from a theory perspective and loved what you did with that chord at the end which I agree would have made a great song even better. Ocean Machine is definitely Devin’s best record IMHO and you can hear how much time and thought went into it (there is a whole story behind that record and how he struggled for years and essentially did his popular metal project strapping young lad and several other bands in order to get the funding and support to do this record after years of trying) In short I think you will like the record if you liked this song as every track is a banger :) PS I think the song which you might have been thinking of that had a similar tone to the intro is welcome to the jungle by Guns n Roses. Thanks again and all the best to you and your great community in 2023!!!

Tomorrow we shall rule the world 😁 agree with you Ste that Ocean Machine is his most straightforward and accessible release, which is VERY much my flavor, though I understand the fans that prefer his weirder stuff. Maybe between the two of us we can just keep requesting songs from this album every month 🥳 because it really is that good!!
