Can't wait to watch this!!! This album is full of sooooooo many genius composition choices, and the chord voicings in particular are just a chef's kiss.

Loved listening to this! I'm a mega fan of the band, so I'll share some fun stuff about them, including some of their latest music. Guitarist Dean DeLeo was the final addition to the classic lineup. You can hear that he's got a real 70s rock and blues influence in his chord voicings and playing style, including the frequent use of slide by placing a metal tube on his finger and using it to slide across the fret board. The DeLeo brothers have described Scott Weiland as having perfect pitch. I've never heard Scott say that - not even in his autobiography - but it would explain some of his interesting and genius vocal melodies, as well as his jaw dropping pitch accuracy, especially in the early days of the band. The penultimate album closer on Purple "Kitchenware and Candybars" was described by Scott during a VH1 concert as being specifically about him and his girlfriend getting pregnant and then deciding to terminate it. The lyric "What I wanted is what she wanted" makes a lot of sense in that light. Agree that No. 4 is full of incredible songs. "Sour Girl" is one of their finest compositions ever. But the album was a real downer for the band because it coincided with Scott getting busted and actually going to jail for a while. Chester Bennington was indeed in the band for a brief time. They put on some great live shows with him, but it was really never meant to be. He was still fronting Linkin Park and the workload of trying to front both bands was probably impossible for any mortal human being. Their new singer Jeff Gutt is actually pretty great. People might know him for some of his AMAZING performances on X Factor. He's no Scott Weiland, but geez, who is? They put out an all acoustic album in 2020 that's got a few true bangers on it. This one called "Three Wishes" is my personal favorite. https://youtu.be/Tv2qVbs-M5U Also, if you've never listened to any of Scott's solo work, you're really missing out. This live performance of his song "Circles" is brilliant and touching. https://youtu.be/R70qjWrmdp4 Oh and one last note - the verse melody to "Atlanta" has some fun similarities to the Sound of Music song "My Favorite Things" :)
