During the Take Over tour and Icy tour, Tyler and Josh would come out and play together for the first 30-40min’ish, and the, as we call them, the scaled and icy band would come out and play the remainder of the show with Tyler and Josh. They were fantastic. And yes, the return of Dr. Blum. Only Tyler and Josh closed the show with trees

Looking back as a fanbase, they were giving us plenty of hints of the sound direction they were going with the next album with these two songs 😂 not sure why we were surprised 🤪

Level of Concern was the first time ever we heard Tyler play the electric guitar! Such a fun song and it was indeed very nice to have this song when so much was going on in the world. I mentioned it briefly in the livestream the other day, but i think it deserves to be mentioned again: they did a alternate reality game that was level of concern inspired let’s say, we refer to it as the loc arg. It had 20 incredibly hard puzzles to solve and the first 500 (not quite sure on the number) to solve it won a usb as a prize. And this usb flash drive had pictures and videos, old demos and video messages from Josh and Tyler on it. In Tyler’s video there was a coded message in the background that said „Clancy is dead“. So i know you at least vaguely know where the story is gonna go so this doesn’t freak you out but man the speculations were crazy when the last thing we knew about Clancy was that he was getting dragged back to dema in the levitate mv. And now this is what we hear about him. And i‘m sure you‘ve already seen some comments that the album name Scaled and Icy is an anagram for Clancy is dead as well. Also a fun little detail about the album cover of Christmas save the year: if you look reeeeally closely (or if you look it up) you can find „Sai is propaganda“ in the background. Which was another great way of giving us something to make theories about in between two eras. This was before we knew the album name.

The only person I know who has tried to breakdown the Christmas Saves The Year video is Lua James. She's a very smart gal and knows the band inside out and she struggled. But here is her attempt - start at 10mins in to avoid SAI spoilers. It's long so probably just for your own interest if you get time and are dying to know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fzQZTqrfDI They were teasing SAI era in both videos though. In the Level of Concern video eg; Tyler is dressed in 1970s type clothes at the start and he repeatedly makes a Sai symbol with his fingers/hair on his face. What else...yes vultures are called 'trash dragons' by the Banditos and the dragon who features in Scaled and Icy Lore is called Trash. Hopefully the conclusion to draw from that is pretty clear! They also teased the era in the cover of Christmas saves the year in which is hidden 'sai is propaganda'. At the time we had no idea what sai was or what this meant! This will take you to that part of the wiki https://www.twentyonepilots.wiki/docs/scaledandicy/sai-is-propaganda

Just adding this to say that Lua does find some really interesting things especially relating to the Sai symbol in the Christmas Saves the Year video in the form of a tree, and has info from the band's long time graphic designer Brandon Rike on this in her video - if you want to learn about the sai symbol and how it connects to the east is up symbol and the skeleton keys from the Blurryface era, I recommend that part of the video - this link is cued up to around that time. https://youtu.be/8fzQZTqrfDI?si=u3sx1cX2fm0-To-i&t=1368

Sorry, me again. I keep thinking of things you might find interesting. In the 'From outside' live version that I dropped in chat, there are additional lyrics where this version is just intrumental...Tler sings "you ask me if it's real. I see your shifting eyes. You're digging in your heels. I dig my hole to die" and for me it makes the song even better. The musicians who toured for the Scaled and Icy era wore jumpsuits with Tyler's tattoos on them as if they parts of him, since they were playing the instruments Tyler usually plays. It did make for a way more 'live' show for those songs during the tour. You recognised Dr Blum, the guitarist and Todd Gummerman ex of Mutemath (Paul Meany's band) on keys and guitar.

Also cool little thing, they made a separate level of concern MV and fans could submit videos and they would be put in different device screens in the MV, they live streamed it from June 21, 2020 to December 16, 2020, they now have the WR for longest music video
