The single version MV was thought to be the reaction to Scaled and Icy. They put all their heart into the work, but it wasn't well received by a lot of the fans and the music industry especially at first.

IIRC the workshop they filmed in belongs to Josh's brother Jordan. A carved wooden box shows up in the Paladin Strait video when Josh is Torchbearer, so maybe he does have some woodworking skills...maybe he's a carpenter... 😉 As others have said, it's likely the boys crafting something beautiful, putting in all that time and effort only to be told it's a 'miss', is about how Scaled and Icy was received when it first came out by the 'men in suits', declaring it a miss and moving on to the next person. (The Clique was guilty of that too). To dig a little deeper, I always think the shell is the detailed, pretty thing Tyler creates - the music and lyrics and the vulnerability - and Josh provides the solid container for it. I mentioned on the Backslide video that the man Tyler bought his Ned's Bread from is the same man in a suit who shoots the shotgun in this video, and I think that's probably intentional but I've never quite pinned down what it means! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fun fact, the guy who pushes past them at the end is Shap their lighting guy who is in the MV for Oldies Station as well.

The single version song and mv was released to us before the album released, so we didn’t get to hear Jenna’s version until the album drop. Many of us prefer the single version. As many have already commented, it was the time and care they put into SAI to be declared a failure by the music industry.

I love this song and I love each version for different reasons. Great catch seeing the rabbit handing his heart in a basket. Everything with their work always calls back to past music. The heart from A Car A Torch A Death and Jar of Hearts and the rabbit from Heavydirtysoul. Or do I just have such TOP brain that I see connections everywhere? 🤔
