Yep that's just his snare tone! He's kind of known for it now. His whole kit is custom DW since they sponsor him, with Remo heads. It pops so loudly because it's really tight and it sounds better in the mix at the live shows, he has a different snare for studio recordings. There are countless discussions online about his kit and what he's using, especially in the Sleep Token subreddit. I'm not a drummer really I just love them and have a kit I play for fun when I have time (two small kids means never 😫)

Just started the video, but man, his voice live… It irritates me the hate this band gets. MY OWN DAUGHTER (18) was like “Idk, just can’t get into them. They put way too much autotune and effects on his voice. He probably can’t sing.” She has no idea what she’s talking about lmao. I was fortunate enough to go to the last show of this last tour (2025) and took my two youngest (10 and 12) since they’re fans as well. All 3 of us were absolutely blown away with how amazing they all sounded. Also, it was the most chill and respectful concert crowd I’ve experienced. My 10 year old is super socially awkward (looking into getting him tested for autism, honestly) and absolutely came out of his shell just knowing he had something in common with this crowd of 20k people, and was walking up to people and handing them bracelets he made, trading bracelets and trinkets with others. It was his first concert experience and I’m so glad it went how it did. Such a cool experience. Also, yes, LOVE ii’s snare. Those little ghost notes in there too 🤌🏻. I watch every ii drum cam I can. He has a .99 subscription on Instagram where he puts some live drum cams on sometimes. The newer videos are such good quality with several different angles and a crazy good audio mix. Also, iii does bass cams sometimes as well, which is cool because you can hear the bass line so much better.

That’s just his snare. It’s very uniquely him. His control to go from ghost notes to those pops is insane. Glad to be able to witness his greatness. He does tighten and loosen the snare depending on the song, but generally it’s just that poppy. There’s a video of him at one of his recent showcases showing him loosen the snare for an upcoming song.
