I love her shoutout to “Candy” by Plan B. That song will always be memorable for me because I learned Spanish while living in Central America from 2013-2015. I was proficient in reading and writing before living there, but it took me 2-3 months to really tune my ear to the way they spoke and gain confidence in conversation, especially ones where I wasn’t dictating the topic. I had a lightbulb moment on a public bus that was bumping reaggaeton through the aftermarket stereo system when they played “Candy” by Plan B and I heard the chorus and was like “oh man, the lyrics in this song are incredibly vulgar” and then immediately thought “oh shit I guess I speak Spanish now” 🤣
