You had Daphne say that their next class was Charma with Ravenclaws, then went to Potions and then went to Charms with Gryffindor. Loved the chapter and love this story so far

It'll be interesting to see how Harry gets one up on Snape. He has literally zero leverage other than going to the professors. I'm honestly surprised you made Snape publicly single Harry out, as it's a pretty stupid thing to do when. Harry himself is a Slytherin. It makes it extremely obvious that he's singling Harry out, specifically, for no actual reason, rather than him being biased against Gryffindors. Harry is basically even more powerless against Snape than he was in canon, as anything Harry does, will reflect badly on Slytherin as a whole, which is where he sleeps.

Great chapter, this story is one of the better Harry Potter ones I actually read quickly as soon as it drops. I like Harry with a backbone and drawing lines in the sand.

Elias

I must say I thought the scenes between Goyle and harry Quite interesting, I do not think I have every seen a fic that has him have any kind of evolution or be anything other than a brick. Also I was quite pleased to see Flint actually put his foot down on that pointless squabble, usually Slytherin is just written as harry and his friends are fine but everyone else is an ass

Zeldris

So we're gonna have bitter Snape in this fic, I wonder how you're gonna proceed forward concerning him. Also like someone said, Harry can't even complain about Snape's conduct since it would affect Slytherin as a whole due to showing disunity.

Great chapter for sure but I was kinda disappointed that Harry didn’t use Parseltongue on the snake wrapped around the 4th years neck that would have been cool.

Drinor

Snape made it obvious that he hates Harry in the books as well; it is not like he was trying to hide it. But in this story, he is making it a little more obvious, and Snape has a big hate boner not to try and bully Harry, even if Harry is a Slytherin; if anything, Harry being in Slytherin and having dark-red hair like his mother might make Snape even more angry with him. As for how Harry will deal with Snape, remember that Harry is cunning in this story; he will find a way to either get Snape on his side or, if that doesn't work, make Snape regret his life's decisions more than he already does.

Drinor

Harry really meant it when he said the dude with the snake will pay dearly for his insult.

Drinor

When it comes to Flint, he puts his foot down because it's his job, and Harry is in his First Year, so he thought that was petty as hell and because he was feeling very insulted that these four years were going about this the wrong way. They are supposed to be cunning and whatnot, yet the four years were being anything but cunning. In this story, I will try to develop side characters a little more. I'm not saying they will have big arcs, but they won't be just background statues.

Drinor

As pointed out in the summary of this Story, Harry is cunning, and he will find a way to pull off the rug under Snape's foot without anyone noticing.

Drinor

I'm happy you are enjoying it.

Drinor

That's because Harry does not know yet he can talk with Snakes, but don't worry, that will pay off soon.

Ya, there's a couple things that I don't see how you're going to believably do without some kind of deux ex machina or plot induced stupidity, which you've already been using. Anything Harry does against Snape will reflect badly on Slytherin. Which will turn the house against him. The biggest thing I see as a problem is that I don't believe Harrys that smart. You write as if he is, but all you're doing is making the other characters seem dumb in comparison. The transfiguration class was an excellent example of dumbing other characters down to make one seem smart. If Harry was cunning, he wouldn't have accepted going to the house where everyone would be suspicious of him from the start. I just don't believe it. He's not going to be able to turn Slytherin against pure bloods and allow associating with muggleborns like Hermione. Its literally the foundation of their entire mindset. Harry willingly defending Hermione against a Slytherin is social suicide for him. Especially with Draco.

Drinor

Look, the Transfiguration class is not making everyone else seem stupid by comparison; you have to understand that doing what Professor McGonagall wanted them to do in the first class is not supposed to happen within the first class; that is supposed to take a while to be done. Second, why do you think Harry is trying to turn Slytherins into Muggle Born lovers or something? Harry is not trying to do that; sure, he has a soft spot for Hermione and her like because Harry's mother was a muggle-born, but Harry right now wants to get power and influence, and being among Slytherins is a good way to earn some influence. Third, what do you mean Harry wouldn't accept to be in Slytherin? The whole point of sorting is that you are sorted into a house, and that's it. If the student can choose, then what is the point of the Sorting Hat? The reason why the Sorting Hat changed its mind in the books for Harry is because Harry showed courage to say that he didn't want to be in Slytherin, and Book Harry has more Gryffindor traits in general, while Harry is much different. As for Harry and Snape problem, you just have to wait and see.

travis btmb

Wasnt harrys father james the one known for his transfiguration skills while his mother was skilled at charms, potions, runes and enchanting im asking because when mconagal asks him to stay behind to talk she says it was lily that was exceptional in transfiguration

Daniel

Can Harry talk to snakes or has that not been discovered yet

Drinor

Not discovered yet.

Samuel Bowman

I really hope that you don't have kill the basilisk because when you think about it isn't she technically his basilisk now because he technically killed good old Tom then by right of conquest he is now the hier of slytherin. And my second question is are we going with the thinking that harry was born a parselmouth because he is related to the blacks through his grandmother. And if so makes more sense then him getting it from the scar because you know born a parselmouth is GENETIC and not spiritual.

Drinor

Harry was born with Parseltongue.

Hakaishin_God

So Harry will let Draco call Hermione a mudblood? Because that's exactly what Draco and 90% of Slytherin should do at this point. They're literally all the children of death eaters. They've lived and breathed superiority to mud bloods all their lives. What is Harry going to do? Allow that? If that's the type of story youre writing, I'll take a hard pass. There's nothing but contrivances and plot induced stupidity ahead for it. The reason the hat changed it's mind was because Harry didn't want to be in Slytherin because of the way Draco treated muggleborns and people "below" him. Blood traitors like Ron's family and Neville. The same way 90% of the current Slytherin house treats those same people. And now Harry is some smooth genius who will be best friends with him while half of his house calls people like his mother, and Hermione, a mud blood. His friends parents were straight up death eaters. By choice.

Loved the chapter! Harry kinda befriending Crabbe and Goyle is a very nice idea! I just know that the guy with the snake is going to regret that when Harry discovers he’s a Parseltongue

Victory For The People

I think someone mentioned it in a previous comment, but I feel the need to point it out. MCG claims canonically that James is the Transfig specialist and Lily is known for Charms and even Potions I think. I could see MCG offering to talk about both his parents and not just his mother like you made it seem. Otherwise I'm really enjoying the story! Keep it up.

Kuronokishi

Brilliant development. In canon Sorting Hat said that Harry would do great in Slytherin. It is great to see how. Goyle as ally, brilliant.
