I'm Not gonna lie. I skimmed through this one because Harry is a bit of a pussy in it, and for some odd reason you try to make Snape of all people sympathetic to Fleur at the beginning.. Fleur is basically a Mary Sue in this, and takes characterization and development from Harry to form a bit of a contrived relationship that ends up with Harry being slightly lesser than even his canon self.. With Fleur there, he has no reason to lead any kind of group. She's smarter, has the credentials and can do it better than him... He'd literally just be the face. Sorry about the rant but it kinda just took me out tbh

Hadrian v.E.

Snape finding Umbridge revolting is canon, so I'm not sure why find it odd here. As for the central relationship, I agree with you. The parties in a relationship have to be on relative equal footing to make it work.

It's not necessarily that he wouldn't also think Umbridge is revolting, it's simply that he would treat Fleur with anything other than casual disdain. He's not going to compliment someone randomly or snort at a joke from a random Veela, especially one he knows is friends with Harry.

I don't know what you are talking about. Harry managed to beat Fleur in front of everyone, and it's clear that Harry becomes better as the story progresses. In the beginning, he can’t talk about Cedric. Fleur manages to help him with that, and Harry becomes almost as strong as her- someone who is also a champion and three years older than him- so I don’t know why you are acting like Harry didn’t evolve at all in this story, but you said yourself that you just skimmed through the chapter.

I thought this was quite good. It made me laugh more than once which is rare in any fic let alone a oneshot. Enjoyed reading, thanks!

Hadrian v.E.

The parties in a relationship have to be on relative equal footing to make it work. "She didn't say a word, and Harry understood, without really thinking about it, that she couldn't say anything without making it worse for both of them. He thought she wanted to anyway." I mean, this is just embarrassing. He's like a kid throwing a tantrum. Being great magically has to be paired with a sharp and controlled mind if that person is to be taken seriously.

Drinor

I don't know what you are trying to say, but not all relationships start on equal footing. Second, Harry is like this because of the whole Cedric dying, him having a terrible summer, and no one giving him information. Him losing his temper is expected since now Umbridge is trying to act like everything is okay, and this angers him a lot because it feels that Umbridge is making fun of what he is going through and making fun of Cedric’s death. The whole point of the One Shot is him learning to control his emotions and having a better head on his shoulders. When Harry starts training Hermione and the others for Dumbledore's Army near the end of the One Shot, he tells them what happened to Cedric because, at that point, he developed as a character and became more mature. Did you not read the entire one-shot?

The problem isn't that it didn't happen it's that I don't believe it. It all feels a bit contrived. As if your forcing things.
