I would have liked to have seen you watch the entire 007 franchise from the start! But oh well, can't have everything

jim Howe

And I want to give 'Miller's Crossing and 'Road to Perdition' a little bump up the "to watch" list while I'm here.

TomGas2025

My favourite Bond actor besides Sean Connery...and one of the most succesful Soundtracks in the Bond franchise...and in my opinion the best....

Dwight Scarn

Gotta watch SkyFall one of these days too.

TomGas2025

Really? The complete Franchise? These are now what...20 movies? That will take up some time...

Zachery Gaskins

One of the more prevalent fan theories is that James Bond is a codename given to the 007 slot, which explains why he has so many looks from the 1960s onward. So he's actually died/retired a few times but we don't see those moments. Although that's mostly just a movie conceit covering up the notion that the books were written decades ago and new stories continue to be created. Kinda like Doctor Who's regenerations.

Maiki

Besides Famke Janssen, there's another actor from the X-Men franchise. Alan Cumming, Boris in this one, was the Nightcrawler in X2. Seen both movies a lot but just found out recently. Oh and the director of Goldeneye also directed Casino Royale. Best Brosnan, best Craig.

Shane Willis

The movie that made me a James Bond fan. The N64 game was so good back in the day lol.

Pam Nail

Brosnan was a great Bond, but he had some bad movies in his run -- to say nothing of getting screwed out of being Bond in the 80s (he was originally cast to succeed Roger Moore in The Living Daylights, but there were complications with the TV show he was on at the time). This one and Tomorrow Never Dies (with Michelle Yeoh!) are his best ones. I also really love the Tina Turner "GoldenEye" theme song, which is one of my top 5 Bond themes. The Aston Martin is the most well known Bond car, but he's driven loads of others (Brosnan's Bond drives an Aston Martin at some point in all of his movies). The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles had an exhibit of Bond's various vehicles a few years back and it was incredible.

“You’re a double O agent Harry! “

auto

I'm pretty sure the director of golden Eye, also directed Casino royal

Shane Willis

The Bond movie Simone is thinking of is Die Another Day.

Crystal

if it hasn't already been suggested, there's one of a handful Sean Bean movies in which he DOESN'T die, my fave being Ronin. it also has Robert DeNiro, Stellan Skarsgaard, Jean Reno & Jonathon Pryce. Kick ass car chases too!!

Dwight Scarn

I was introduced to Bond with Roger Moore from the 1970s and then a few Pierce Bronsan movies. I enjoyed them for sure but Daniel Craig is definitely my favorite Bond. Pierce Bronsan definitely is a great bond too of course.

jmundt33a

Like they say in Slevin, Scotland forever. Still true.

jmundt33a

As for the favorite or least favorite Bond girl Many will mention Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones from The World is Not Enough. I feel that 90% of that is pure unprocessed fertilizer element. I would wager most of those same people enjoyed Wild Things and (more relevantly) Undercover Brother. For villains, Sophie Marceau as Elektra King in World is Not Enough and Rosamund Pike as Miranda Frost in Die Another Day are particularly grating. Which is clearly an indictment on the screenwriting and direction given the talent of both those actresses. Least favorite Bond heroine, Tanya Roberts as Stacy Sutton from A View to a Kill Favorite is probably Eva Green as Vesper Lind from Casino Royale. Favorite full villainess is probably Xenia from this one.

Zinphad

Now that you've seen him do Bond, I'd love to see you react to The Matador (2005), my favorite Brosnan movie.

scott melton

I worked at Nintendo when the game was in development. Played the dev version roughly 1000 times, including the '4 Bonds' version. We didn't know that was getting stripped out, or I woulda taken footage of it.

Lee Meehan

If this is only you're second Bond movie George I'd be interested to see what you think of Jame's Japanese disguise in "You only live twice" lets just say Ooo boy 😅 I also have to say Sean Connery is the best 007.

MrX_1985

That dam is in Ticino Switzerland and you can actually bungee jump off it

S - is she moaning every time she shoots? G- maybe when she kills someone. Me-She's just enjoying "a little death" :P

Re: "Judith" on the playing card during the blackjack scene - Yes, they're playing with a French style deck, which often (but don't always) apply names to the court (face) cards based on historic individuals. Judith is a fairly common version to see on the queen!

Michael

Not only did Goldeneye revive interest in the franchise for a time, the game was indeed one of THE console multiplayer experiences to beat before Halo rolled around.

Jobbe Smit

George hits the nail on the head, for me modern Bond is just not *fun* anymore. Sure it hasn't all aged that well but man it was good fun. Explosions, silly gadgets, great stunts.

Helly R

I hope you watch more Bond movies now. If you liked this you'll probably enjoy most of them.

Happy Hanukkah

From that perspective, this movie can also be seen as a return to form after the two Timothy Dalton films.

JBK405

The tone of the franchise has varied wildly over the years, often correcting and then OVER-correcting with each change to the actor. The original movies with Sean Connery weren't "serious" like the Daniel Craig films, but they also weren't goofy. They were Action/Adventure films. George Lazenby's one role was the same. It was during Roger Moore's era in the '70s that the gadgets got more and more extravagant, verging into straight sci-fi in some instances due to the need to go bigger and bigger than the previous film. The goofiness increase right alongside. After Moore's run they tried to correct back in the other direction, and Timothy Dalton's films did try to get "serious". Those are my personal favorites, because I think they hit that perfect line of being serious without being GRIM like you said about "Casino Royale". Dalton's films weren't the biggest hits, and so they tried to go back in the gadgets-and-goof direction with Pierce Brosnan. This isn't AS goofy as the Moore era, but they definitely decided to go back. Brosnan's last film went way overboard and was critically savaged. Compared to the slew of "realistic" action films that were now coming out in the early '00s (The Bourne Identity is the example most people point to) it seemed like James Bond was outdated and out of place. So they did a complete relaunch with Daniel Craig and really tried to take out all of the gadgets and goofiness. Craig's Bond is an assassin with a gun on a mission, not a Spy on an Adventure.

Grand Moff Slackin'

You guys should give Slow Horses a try if you're down for some British spy drama. It's on Apple TV+ in the US so not sure what the sitch is for Canada, but it's a good watch.

Kyle B

James is a terrible spy. In some movies, he is world famous, with randos at a party recognizing him.

Dan Holmes

Same Director as Casino Royale! Successfully rebooted the Bond franchise Twice!

jmundt33a

The grim was a response to the panning of Die Another Day and the success of Bourne

Patrick Evans

I've watched all the movies and read some of the books. He is a terrible spy. He alway uses his name, gets caught by the villian who have heard of him before and then somehow thwarts the plot

Rob Church

I've never seen this movie but every location and dialogue came back to me. It's insane how much I played that game.

Ricardo Alanis

My favorite Bond girl is Michelle Yeoh in the next film, Tomorrow Never Dies.

SnabbKassa

For Yorkshire, James? No. For Drogheda. One does not simply... EMP London and destroy all records, because there are off site backups kept far away.

Tom M

This makes me miss fun Bond movies. When they shifted tone with Craig, the franchise lost some jokes, ridiculous sexy named characters, etc.

Dan Holmes

Did they finish the austin powers series yet? if not time to do that!

Andrew Roach

Q, the old man giving Bond his gadgets, is a James Bond legend. Starting with the second Bond movie in 1963 he was in every Bond movie until Brosnan's third movie. Even in weaker Bond movies the stunts are what make the movies worth watching. Dalton's second and final movie License to Kill features a practical stunt with an 18 wheeler truck that is incredible, better than the truck flip in Dark Knight. As mentioned earlier, after the Moore era Bond went serious and dark with Dalton but the films did not do well, I think they were ahead of their time as both of Dalton's films and him himself are now regarded as among the best of Bond. Quick recap: Sean Connery 5 films George Lazenby 1 film Sean Connery back for another, his overall 6th Roger Moore 7 films Sean Connery during Moore's run did an "unofficial" Bond movie Timothy Dalton 2 films Pierce Brosnan 4 films Daniel Craig 5 films, the first series with true continuity

overdev

always loved the movie as a kid cause of the secret base that is actually real, it's a giant telescope called "Arecibo Observatory", sadly the telescope collapsed a few years ago, but they plan on rebuilding it even Tom Scott made a video about it :) the floating base and the clicking of the pen is so burned into my head and I don't know why :D

FromDarknessComesLight

The NSF announced in 2022 that they are not going to rebuild the radio telescope at Arecibo due to budgeting concerns, although they will put an education center there instead. Also there are other instruments still at Arecibo, so it's still able to function as an observatory. Still very sad though. :(

The James Bond Film That Really Set The Stage/Mood For All Future Bond Tales Is The 3rd Film "Goldfinger" 1964... And it's A MUST To React To...

Jason Tomerlin

quickest way to get some (Boom Boom) from a girl/woman is an intense adrenaline rush from a very extreme risky action (just as long said risky actions was done very skillfully)
