Classic Nolan. It’s still one of the trippier concepts to wrap a plot around. But unlike Inception or Tenet, this one is actually a straight forward plot once it’s put into chronological order. Even then, Guy Pearce puts on one hell of a performance because you totally buy his condition and his inner turmoil.

To answer your question at the end, the limited edition DVD you were discussing is available on eBay right now for about 7 bux. That's for a used copy. Sealed it's about 20.

Watching MIB 2 Simone made a comment about wanting to lose her memory and leave herself clues for things. So glad this movie won and she got to see what that might be like.

If you'd like to see more of Guy Pearce in another thematically ambitious movie I must once again strongly recommend the 1999 horror/dark comedy/western cult classic "Ravenous". If you'd like your Guy Pearce Western film to be more straightforward I would recommend "The Proposition". A film as bleak, cruel and beautiful as the Australian desert it takes place in.

They did a really funky blu ray edition in the UK recently that has the chronological version as an extra. End credits, then the black and white scenes (same order as in the movie), then colour scenes but in order. and it comes with physical copies of all the polaroids, the coaster, and all Leonard’s notes including Teddy’s driving licence. Its mad

Yeah to echo others, the "deluxe" DVD is super fun. The packaging itself is packaged like a file folder with a literal paper clip holding a bunch of papers with details about Leonard, as I recall. I had to re-wrap my version in plastic once I was done just so those papers wouldn't go all over the place! Still a really cool idea. Definitely something fun to have in a collection if you're into physical media.

Gotta admit, I'm a huge sucker for movies about time and memories. I'll vote for them everytime. I'm not saying I'm solely responsible for the overlap but I've certainly helped 😂

The UK edition of the DVD has the chronological playback option, but not the quiz. You just have to hit enter at a particular point during the menu animation. I miss the effort they used to put into DVDs.

To answer George’s question about the homemade tattoos, prison tattoos are made using a needle and pen ink or other forms of ink. It’s not healthy like professional tattoos but it definitely can be done. My uncle spent 40 years in prison and could verify that.

Christopher Nolan is my favorite.

This is why Dunkirk is my favorite war movie and second favorite ever. He uses time confusion to amp up the anxiety and make you feel like you are there. Nolan is incredible.

Wanted you to watch this for ages, and so glad you enjoyed it. Whether you like the story or not it is captivating throughout. Nolan is obsessed by time in his movies, he mentions before film you could only see things in real time. After the invention of cinema you could view things sped up, slowed down or backwards. Also, a 90 minute film can show a story spanning minutes, or real-time, thousands of years which is crazy. Have the DVD, watching in chronological order starts with the black ‘n’ white scene followed by the rest. Worth seeking out. Oh, and good job editing the YouTube version, must’ve been a bit tricky.

I'll give Simone the DVD only if you promise to react to the show Lost.

Great reaction guys! Just lost enough…just able to follow enough; which as George points out, is due to the movie’s perfect pacing.

This was the first Christopher Nolan film I saw when I was a junior in high school I didn't understand it and immediately went to Blockbuster after to rewatch it.. Immediately bought the limited edition DVD and yes I still have it. It comes in a case that shaped like a blue file and you have to answer several questions correctly in order to get the movie to play. Cinema. Absolute Cinema.

Lost is such a mystery gem. After the show was finished I rented the complete series and watched it with my mother and brother, that show was soo good and entertaining, I‘d love to rewatch it with G&S.

One thing about the narrative structure of this movie (which was hard to come up with; I think there's even a YouTube movie about how Nolan came up with it and make it work) -- it puts you exactly in Lenny's shoes. Whenever a scene starts, you never know what happened right before it. Just as Lenny can't, so can't we. It's one way to give us a little insight into what Lenny's life is. Which is, frankly speaking, quite cool!

"If by Saturday, July 6th, no video is uploaded. Then something went wrong and we'll go from there." Now that we can presumably assume nothing went wrong, I can facetiously recommend* Jesus de Montreal (1989), without being guilty of poor taste. * The film was a critical and box-office "success" in Canada, but it is not for everyone.

Please watch-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. 😊

While this dvd was way crazier than most it was very common for DVD'S to have lots of cool features and weird fun ways to get to behind the scenes videos. Often themed around the movie.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

You’d think companies would keep up that kind of creativity to entice their audience to support physical media. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore outside of special releases.

🖤I can picture Simone with a tattoo system like this that says things like "remember to have game downloaded before the stream starts" or "the spider on the porch: don't believe his lies"

Rupert Purcat

Have not watched this for many years - Guy Pearce is such an underrated actor. You could try Jack Irish: Bad Debts (2012). it is a tv movie series, and his early romcom Dating the Enemy 1996,

It's become classic Christopher Nolan, but we shouldn't forget that this is based on a story by his brother, Jonathan. The idea of jumping between 2 timeframes comes straight from Jonathan's short story. Of course Christopher should get credit for the movie script and the way it was directed. Jonathan also contributed to both the Interstellar and The Prestige scripts, to various degrees.
