Looking forward to better call Saul, really liked your reactorverse interview

Divinerights

Hated in the Nation is maybe one of my favourites, not because it’s particularly PEAK Black Mirror, but the vibe

Mark McKeown

Although I'm not a BCS viewer, I do appreciate you going back and forth between shows so everyone gets a bit of something!

MoonageDaydream

Man it’s been so long since I’ve seen Hated In The Nation. Had fun watching along with you. Can’t wait for season 4 (and BCS!)

Odd Thomas

I think BM peaked with Playtest and San Junipero, but there are some good episodes peppered in the next few series, especially the Calista episode

Mike Miner

The most chilling part of this whole thing was in the outro when G&S casually say they've both received death threats. Like... what? I had to backup and make sure I was hearing that right. That's terrible and horrifying, guys. I must be naive but I was shocked to know that. I'm really sorry that happens.

Odd Thomas

For more Sarah Snook I recommend you watch Predestination!

Kevin

You will love BCS so much. Im very jealous of your fresh eyes on it.

8bitAndy

Thank you for bringing this up. I didn't know this interview existed until seeing this comment.

Mark McKeown

I've not watched yet so apologies if you noticed, but Hated in the Nation has a couple of fun easter eggs, like the Rannoch case with the child killings, Ian Rannoch was the boyfriend of Victoria who burned the girl in a sleeping bag in White Bear, he had the tattoo on his neck. And there's a part where we see the computer screen with all the tweets and you can see Michael Callow (Prime Minister from 1x01) and Harlech Shadow (game from Playtest) trending down the side. Interestingly on the TV news ticker you see an announcement has been made for the MASS project, meaning Hated in the Nation takes place before Men Against Fire.

Yeah, pretty much anyone with even a bit of an "out there to the public" online presence deals with harassment, death threats, or unhinged fans (e.g. stalkers). I can't imagine the creepy DMs Simone must get. :-\

Odd Thomas

If you love Benedict Wong, please watch Sunshine (2007).

J. Valentine

I did not remember Shiv the shiv being on this episode

Stugotz

I honestly would have preferred an ending where the guy got away with it in "Hated in the Nation". To have her track him down seems like one of those forced Hollywood cop outs to give the ending a more positive spin. If this was season 1 he definitely would have gotten away with it.

Tony E Crumpton

Blue's ability to "hack" the bees and constantly find the information is explained in the episode by the fact that the "bad guy" wanted them to find the information, leading to the execution of his grand plan. They even mention how it was a trail of seeds. If he made it too hard, it would never have happened.

Scoobay

Each season has at least one gem imo. I don’t think any of the seasons are bad overall, but I know people lament how it began to change once it went to Netflix. There’s plenty of holy sh*t moments throughout.

Scoobay

Curious to know if you’ll be including Bandersnatch in the 4th season of Black Mirror? I don’t know how you’ll be able to do it as it’s an interactive, choose your own story type deal. Might make it difficult as everyone would have to synch with the choices made.

PIG

Meh~

Khan1001

Some suggestions for your next short shows, The Queens Gambit, Afterlife (Ricky Gervais) and Luther (Idris Elba)

Jay

Yeah, no way we get that ending in S1 or 2. But I do think it's a great episode.

soup3097

You def need to watch season 4 of black mirror, episode 1 is one of the best in the series

jackthegent

queen's gambit is really good

Michael

the ending reminded me a bit of Silence of the Lambs, " Im having a friend for dinner" as they walk off into the crowd

Michael

the most realistic part of this series is when she comes home with food and then eats the chip instead.

Jay

I think the first 3 seasons are superior to the later ones, but there's still some great episodes to come. Kelly MacDonald was also in Trainspotting and Faye Marsay (Blue) was The Waif in Game of Thrones. Also, gotta recommend the original Wicker Man after Nic Cage's one came up. It's honestly brilliant. The Final Cut version is the best. Long story, but basically nobody involved with making the film approves of the theatrical cut, which is currently on Prime. Christopher Lee said it was the best film he ever made. Yes, he was Saruman in Lord of the Rings:)

JokerDanny

Please add Flushed Away to the next animated poll, it's a great underrated animated movie, it's got a star studded cast, and it's really funny.

JBK405

I disagree with the people who think that Blue catching up with Garrett at the end is an American-ized ending that wouldn't have happened in the first few seasons. Because Garrett embodied the very type of people that he was supposedly trying to attack, and him getting his comeuppance fits the same theme. His whole manifesto was railing against people who didn't face the consequences for their actions due to the anonymity of the internet, and then he dodges his own consequences by changing his appearance and identity. He's just like everybody who used the hashtag because they felt their target "deserved it". In the very first episode "The National Anthem", the kidnapper committed suicide once he saw that people really did bend to his will despite it being stupid that they do so. In "The Entire History of You", after attacking his wife and Jonas and others, Liam then cuts out his own memory grain. In "White Christmas", Joe is caught for his crimes. They're not "happy endings" by any stretch, but even in the beginning this show did have people face repercussions for their actions. Often self-inflicted or poetic hells, but matching the theme of the episode. Here Garrett is punished under the same theme.

"Men Against Fire" I can always take or leave, it's fine, but "Hated on the Nation" I feel like I've watched just as a standalone movie a dozen times. I love it so much. Black Mirror just doing a True Detective-y tech procedural thriller came off so well, the perfect level of bleeding-edge speculative tech in the ADI bees, and the real indictment of the online culture we ALL take part in to one degree or another and feed off of. It just all comes together perfectly in tone and the cast! Such a cool, solid cast of real actors with the dramatic chops to take something this heightened and just nail the reality of it. I think "Hated in the Nation" should be considered near the very top of all Black Mirror episodes. Can't wait for them to get into Season 4!

REDR58

I appreciate the message behind Men Against Fire, but I found it rather underwhelming. The actors are all fine. I don’t know. I just wasn’t particularly engaging to me. I saw where the story was going about halfway through.

Kozmo

It will be there second encounter with Jesse Plemons. I wonder if they recognize him

Gary Fixler

"And it was another great day of hacking the bees."

E. D.

I like episodes without happy ending better.

Pete Lloyd

Would love them to watch a video of all the Easter eggs over the episodes. Like the news tickers

Alex

Luca Kelly

They’ve already watched it

DinChild

Suddenly, I'm reminded to suggest a new TV Show addition for the polls: Severance. Next season is coming...pretty sure they'll love it.

Logan Nelson

I just wish they would've addressed why a simple bee suit wouldn't have worked? Other than that, I loved Hated in the Nation...

Logan Nelson

Please add Fallen to a poll!!!

Curtis Murphy

It isn't the "American version" because they found him at the end
