2026-09-05 05:00 Rob Schneider long tradition of pretending to be minorities he knows nothing about

Twisty Twitties

Sean Astin in this movie, is a fashion icon.

Rokkor X

Simone never thought she’d cry so much at a funny Adam Sandler movie.

Twisty Twitties

Its crazy but he really pulls it off 🤣

Stugotz

Another great Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore movie is The Wedding Singer. They have such great chemistry.

Mike FromOz

Hilarious! No, wait, the other thing. Tedious.

Stugotz

I know! I thought he was hilarious in this movie, too bad they didn’t agree. Oh well.

Stugotz

Isn’t he part Filipino?

JBK405

This movie is right in the middle of what I call Adam Sandler's "trying" era. After his string of hits in the '90s where the gimmicks were drunken antics, violence, and low-brow humor (The Waterboy, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, etc.) he tried to make the shift to more "mature" fare. Despite the continued presence of gross-out humor in this film, he's TRYING. Not all of his films from this era were successful, but they had more heart and an attempt at seriousness.

SuPaTiLt

You caught most of the cameos but one y'all missed was Missi Pyle and I'm not surprised because she's kind of a chameleon. She was the lady with the big drink and 2 straws in the first act. She was also the lady alien in galaxy quest with the broken language translator, the ladies PE coach in the 2017 Jumanji movie, and Fran Stalinovskovichdavidovitchsky in Dodgeball.

Snuggelbum

George! Please check out a new zealand movie called "Once Were Warriors"! It's one of the all-time great movies, everyone should watch, at least once in life.

Mike FromOz

Absolutely, but damn, a really hard watch though.

Mike FromOz

His best movie, which he didn't direct though, has to be "Punch Drunk Love". I think it was Paul Thomas Anderson trying to show what someone with the kind of rage issues his characters often have in his other films would be like in a real world setting.

nigel Macbug

the walruses were the best actors

Mycenaeus

I'd recommend watching "The Music Never Stopped" (2011).

Mastervodo

Whaaaaaat? A Rom-com that Simone had not seen before?

Helly R

He's not a director of any of his movies. When he works occasionally with real directors though like PTA or the Safdies (Uncut Gems) he is genuinely good.

Jay Willis

Excuse me while I try and figure out how to get an AI cut of Samwise Gamgee doing his speech from Return of the King with Doug's lisp.

Jay Willis

A favorite meme I see online is people referring to Sean Astin as "Doug from 50 First Dates" (or Bob Newby from Stranger Things) and people responding "Samwise Gamgee did not help Frodo take the ring all the way to Mordor to destroy Sauron just to be recognized as Doug."

Mike FromOz

I wonder if Simone has seen "Down with Love". I think both Simone and George would get a real kick from it.

Happy Hanukkah

"Why is the penguin wearing a shirt?" To protect it from the sun; penguins are not acclimated to these latitudes. *Duh*, Simone! :-)

JoeE

My favorite part was how short-lived the Red Sox joke was

Brandon Meng

Obligatory MUST SEE ADAM SANDLER IN PUNCH DRUNK LOVE but also shocked I'm not seeing more comparisons to The Wedding Singer, the superior Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore romcom. Not the place for movie requests but just in general, can we get more light hearted romance/romcoms on the channel? Forgetting Sarah Marshall Punch Drunk Love About Time Midnight in Paris Silver Linings Playbook The Wedding Singer Love Actually 500 Days of Summer Lars and the Real Girl Moonstruck Probably more that I'm missing, but so many to choose from that are fantastic, top tier movies. Maybe Simone has seen some of these already but I'm betting she hasn't seen all of them!

TheSentry77

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is an all-timer for sure, would love to see them react to it!

beecroft adams

Lars and the real girl is a wonderful film.

Trevor Rotan

Drew and Adam are great together on screen. Drew’s kids watch this movie constantly, and she was confused as to why they watched it all the time. She asked “don’t get enough seeing me and your father all the time?” And they said, “this is so sweet!” They are an amazing “in another life” couple.

Maiki

+1 Silver Linings Playbook, 500 Days of Summer +1000 About Time

Happy Hanukkah

+many for Moonstruck (1987). (Multiple Oscar wins and noms.)

MPH

I want more comedies, not so much rom coms, but I like your list. Especially Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That being said, in what world is Silver Linings light hearted lol?

Rob Church

I'm losing track of how many races Rob Schneider has played at this point.

Brandon Meng

@MPH, maybe not the best example of "light hearted" as it deals with some heavy topics, but the way it comes together and how endearing some characters are gives me the same kind of warm fuzzies.

Jeff I.

Such a shame that High Fidelity always gets forgotten in the list of romantic comedies, considering it's much better than the vast majority of them.

Nathan C Johnson

I too hate the name mismatch on the poster thing but apparently that happens because they usually put the highest paid actor's name first

jmundt33a

About Time, Love Actually, The Wedding Singer, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Definitely.

2026-09-05 05:00 If you guys like Sean Astin you'll love Rudy. It's his only lead role I can recall and he's amazing.

Not only that but image placement is also negotiated, which is the part that some people miss. So it's not *just* that Adam Sandler's name has to come first left to right, Drew Barrymore's picture *also* has to come first left to right, meaning there is no fixing the mix-up. Both parts of it are contractually obligated.

Tyler Foster

Hard agree with Moonstruck and Punch-Drunk Love. Others I would add to the list: 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) Always (1989) American President, The (1995) As Good As It Gets (1997) Before Sunrise (1995) / Before Sunset (2004) / Before Midnight (2013) Big Sick, The (2017) Broadcast News (1987) Bull Durham (1988) Charade (1963) Crossing Delancey (1988) Definitely Maybe (2008) Enough Said (2013) Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) Heaven Can Wait (1978) It Happened One Night (1934) Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) Life Less Ordinary, A (1997) Love + Basketball (2000) Mississippi Masala (1991) Moscow on the Hudson (1984) New Leaf, A (1971) Obvious Child (2014) Out of Sight (1998) Return to Me (2000) Something Wild (1986) What's Up, Doc? (1972) and of course Stranger Than Fiction (2006), which I'm still hoping pops up as a surprise one of these days given it did very well on a poll and the comments lit up about it.

jmundt33a

He’s not really the lead in that one. He splits it with Fraser and Shore. I will always have a soft spot for Rudy.

jmundt33a

Next year is the perfect year for Heaven Can Wait as we cross Joe Pendleton’s death date. Out of Sight is Clooney’s best Lopez’s best, and Soderbergh’s best with a LOADED cast Charade is a classic. Same with As Good As It Gets Grosse Point Blank and 10 Things I Hate About You are personal favorites The American President, Dave, and Definitely Maybe are great political comedies of a more hopeful time The Contender is an excellent 2000s political thriller.

Joshua M Freeman

This movie gets a triple crown from me: it is my favorite Adam Sandler movie, it is my favorite Drew Barrymore movie, and it is my favorite rom-com.

ChristianK

This is in my top 2 favorite romcoms just behind Crazy Stupid Love. Please do a reaction to it guys 🥹

Angela D. Mitchell

This one did not age well for me. If you think about it, the ending is horrifying for poor Drew's character. But -- just a movie (her malady doesn't really exist anyway, although Oliver Sacks did profile some other memory damage cases in "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat").

Jimmie V

Anybody know what happened to the uncut version of this?
