Now you see what Everything Everywhere was talking about.

Maiki

A perfect movie. And probably my favourite Pixar.

JediLounger

Simone, I hope you keep reading the Hyperion Cantos. Endymion and Rise of Endymion are better than the first two. If you still want more Science Fiction, Alastair Reynolds and his books are on another level. I would advise reading his books in release order. Lots of them are set in the same world, and each book builds on the next. His writing style also evolves and gets better as they go on.

Guy with the pot is the most important guy in any kitchen.

2 food items. One - Peanut butter and salad dressing sandwiches that my dad always ate and had me make for him. Lets be clear: I have not eaten one of those since I was like 5, after the first time. But I can't eat a peanut butter sandwich without thinking of it. Two: Home made Velveeta mac and cheese. "Ghetto Mac and Cheese" as I call it. Tastes different than the boxed stuff, and everyone I've made it for really likes it.

Monica Alarcon

I read the Wayfarer books they're so good. I hope you read the rest George.

Tenn Seven

"All Systems Red" is a fantastic book, Simone! You're in for a treat!

Philipp Roensch

First Pixar movie to my mind is A Bugs Life, seen that one first and a lot. But this one is special as well, the rat family is so cute, the love for food just relatable. I only trust a well fed chef^^. Childhood food is mashed potato witch mushrooms, my mom stiil makes it perfectly.

Tenn Seven

Simone kind of remembered it, but they didn't remember that Michelle Yeoh was calling it "Raccooncooie" (at least not yet).

Philipp Roensch

Oh, an this one has so many French cinema references. And I think the first Pixar movie with really impressive subsurface scattering, that makes the skin look translucent and realistic.

samuel Jakob

what comes to mind? Well this one or Wall-E. My home dish is tomato soup, or tomato and rice soup, we didnt have a lot growing up.

Jihad Lee

I could have sworn you guys have seen this before???

Florian Geyer

To confirm this, I love Pixar and yes also Ratatouille and yes I love Lord of the Rings, I love cyberpunky stuff, I love the grimm dark future of the 41 millenium, but I also love some childish anti folk. I love listening to the quiteness of the forrest, as well as getting blasted away on a metal concert, also I love to be alone, but when there is a mosh pit on a concert I'm in :D

Pork roast in a slow cooker reminds me of my grandfather. He was an amazing cook. Today, the smell that fills the house while it cooks reminds me of him

8bitAndy

For another feel good movie set in France, you should check out Mr. Bean's Holiday. Also, grilled cheese sandwiches (cheese toasties) always take me back to childhood. Add a bowl of tomato soup and that's basically every school snow day.

Carlos Hurtado

Carne con Chile Papas is the meal that takes me back to my childhood. My grandma would make it everytime i would visit. She always had warm homemade flour torillas to go along with it 😋

Derek Ray

Yall need to watch UP!! One of the funniest, most emotional, and one of the most heartwarming movies Pixar has ever made

WalrusWallace

My family is big on seafood. Moray eel nitsuke was my favorite dish growing up and always brings me back to my childhood

MikeBdrx

Another good animated movie with rats is Flushed Away. When you see the cast you’ll see why

Divinerights

It’s true. I added lemon juice to my chicken when I added too much salt. Made it easier to eat of course, but it was then more lemony

Balmung

you guys should watch an american tail

Tom Hess

Hi guys. You were wondering what Pixar movies you haven't seen yet. The only big one I can think of is Brave (2012). I wasn't a huge fan, but it's still a good film.

Steven Cavanagh

Could I recommend the Amazon Series Secret Level, it's an Anthology series by the creators of Love Death & Robots and is all about Computer Games.

BigGuy209

Ratatouille is in my top three favorite Pixar movies. This is such a good movie. Y’all need to still watch finding Nemo another one that’s in my top three. Oh and I know you guys didn’t ask but the book I’m reading is Dune i’m almost done with it.

James O'Sullivan

If you're looking for an light read between epic series, can I recommend Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree about an orc who retires from adventuring to set up a cafe. It's such a pleasant read, or listen since the author is an audiobook narrator by trade.

Max Krause

I don't have a childhood food that does the Ego thing for me. Maybe it's because I've always lived close to my parents and still do, so there's no nostalgia because I still eat with them a lot. And my mother is a great cook! However, I did have such an experience once, but it wasn't with food. It was the first time I tried real Whisky (as in the expensive stuff that you sip, not Jack Daniels). I was at a concert, slightly boozed up and stoned which was probably the reason why I reacted that way. It was a scotch that when I smelled it, "teleported" me back in time to my mother soaking raisins in Rum for her Christmas baking.

HUGO TORRES

I feel like the scene u were talking about that u had seen someone running there wasnt Tom Cruise it was Liam Neeson in Taken lol

m0lika1 .

there's little The Incredibles easter eggs in the movie btw. Linguine was wearing underpants with the logo on and you saw bomb voyage as a mime on a bridge part way through

Raven Dark

The first time i saw this movie, I didn't really care for it, but this time I loved it. Go figure. I have to wonder how much the change had to do with my watching it with you two. It was a great reaction, whatever the case. Hearing Simone mention All Systems Red had me thinking of a movie called The Mitchells vs The Machines. I could have sworn you guys watched it. To the point where, I have a very vivid memory of you both looking at the poster and talking about the family in it. Did you react to it and then take it down or something? If you didn't, I think you'd really love it and highly recommend a reaction to it. It's got super high ratings, too. Also, I second the commentor above's recommendation for Finding Nemo. Also, also, I'm putting The Wild Robot here again in hopes others will see this and rec it as well. It's so popular with reactors now, I'm surprised people aren't bombarding you with it. A lot of other reactors were and are getting recs for it. Let's see, a movie that comes to mind when I think of Pixar. Oh, that's hard, because there's so many good ones, but I'd say Monsters Inc, which I LOVE. Tully is one of my favorite animated characters. The thing you were talking about, George, where food brings you back to a certain memory, I think that's referred to as sense memory. I find the whole concept interesting. Something that still instantly brings me back to my 80s childhood is a candy called Nerdz (I think that's how it's spelled). They don't make them much anymore, but you can still go to a specialty store and buy them, along with a lot of other older classic things like it. Hubby bought me a huge box of them once, and it made me so happy. Looking forward to more animated films from you!

Opti_Frog

Brandon Sanderson. Hmm. Yeah. Kramer and Reading are the best. I made a fan trailer for The Wheel of Time show using their audiobook readings as voiceovers (Wheel of Time reaction soon? 😃) a year before the first season aired, a trailer i expected to be seen by around a hundred twitter users. Then they shared it on facebook and even sent me pics of them watching it. It completely blew up, getting tens of thousands of views in a matter of days. ❤

James O'Sullivan

Not noticed that before! There's also an UP one, when Remy is running between apartments near the beginning, the dog hat barks at him has Doug's shadow

Bookwormy

For a childhood food memory, as simple as it sounds, it's open faced PB&J on rye bread with Canada Dry gingerale, it's what my Oma used to give me after coming home from school.

attackthehole

imagine being over the age of 12 and still think its funny to mock someone for liking to read. and then getting the name wrong on top of that.

attackthehole

cool. well i hope you stick to this rule for everything then and not just pick and choose to feel superior when you feel like it. im sure you never watch anything starring/directed by Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Stallone, Bruce Willis or any Tarantino movies or hell anything produced by Weinstein. and im sure you feel the same way about Lovecrafts writing? How about the National Lampoons Vacation movies, do you also abstain from that too to keep your high horse clean?

attackthehole

oh, and if youre best argument for his "homophobia" is one tweet from 16 years ago, then i just feel sad for you because that means you are someone who is stagnant and never changes or grows. because i highly doubt everything you said and thought of 16 years ago was perfect and up to whatever todays standards are.

Never trust a skinny chef.

The concept of the idiot with no talent being the star is a long standing trope, from stars like Charlie Chaplin to Danny Kaye to Jerry Lewis to some of Will Ferrell's works such as Land of the Lost (2009).

REDR58

Watching this movie about rats reminds me of “Mrs. Frisby (or “Brisby” in the US, at least) and the Rats of NIMH” which is a story by Robert C. O'Brien and which was made into an animated movie called “The Secret of NIMH” by Don Bluth, a former Disney employee who also made “An American Tail” and others. I highly recommend the book, despite it being a “children’s” book. The movie is quite good, but I feel the book is a better and more mature story. Do check out the movie though. It’s beautiful.

Sergio Meira

I think George is being a little too harsh on poor Alfredo Linguini. Yes, he had no talent, and he wasn't good at making speeches. But he was our average well-disposed, positive, optimistic character. He always had a nice smile, and he was kind to others. In short, Linguini was all heart and no brains -- and I think that is not the worst combination to make a good human being.

Jesse Coombs

I was thinking the same thing. I love "The Secret of Nimh" and I hope they watch it.

Day four of requesting ANDOR

W T

don't you know you also have to eat a sheet of paper to make it happen but yeah, Andor is a must-watch

Felreign

My childhood food memory is rhubarb pie from my grandma, and aebleskivers and bacon, like my mom made on christmas

Like what Simone was saying, one of my favorite things has been discontinued. A small distillery from my hometown makes the best rum I’ve ever had, cooked so hot it’s caramelized and tastes of butterscotch. I recently found out they went out of business 2 years ago. 29 bottles were left on the market (my state has a liquor commission that has public records). In the last month I’ve acquired 9 of them, and I’ll get 2 more tomorrow during a small detour on a road trip. I’m not sure I’m committed enough to drive the 125 miles out of my way to get ALL of them. But I’ll be rationing these out for *years*.

W T

It even got a full name drop with Joy explicitly referencing it, correcting her mom

Theo Bracco

I would subscribe to a podcast of Simone & George discussing books. BookBinge...

Sumner Hayes

Whole Foods' “365 Cracked Wheat Crackers” are very similar to Stoned Wheat Thins (which were my favorite crackers until they were discontinued).

Matthew Scott

I knew there was a reason I kept this 2 disc Blu-Ray / DVD edition around for the best part of 20 years. This time I got to enjoy it on a 48 inch with surround sound instead of a desktop computer with tiny speakers. Second attempt requesting a Wallace & Gromit marathon be added to a poll (four shorts, two movies) - plenty more animated foodie content, especially for cheese lovers 🌖. They’re up for another Oscar so there’s never been a better time.

FranciscoGios

I don’t have a food child memory, but my taste buds are always “tingling” for clam or shrimp linguini, so yeah I’m Hispanic but my taste buds are from Italy., who freaking knew.

Odd Thomas

Another great Brad Bird movie is Tomorrowland

jay

OMG YES! I can't believe they haven't watched this

Daniasaurus

I bet you guys would enjoy the ride at Epcot of this.
