Guy you gotta check out 2013 Rush!! You’ll love it

Michael Matthews

Would be helpful if they said which version they were watching

Michael Matthews

I must have missed it they talked about the poster than started the movie

Senec

Awwww, did you have pineapple today?!

Vellu

You should watch The Butterfly Effect (2004) referenced in the movie, it's pretty underrated thriller in my opinion. And check both endings, theatrical and directors cut.

Cody Cameron

You two need to watch the sequel now. Please

Brandon

Great white buffalo. Skip the sequel. I did NOT remember the William Zabka cameo in this. The woman playing his girlfriend also plays his ex-wife in Cobra Kai. A few great John Cusack movies: The Sure Thing, High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank.

FWPJR.

I have been waiting all week for this reaction, I freaking love this movie so much lol I’ve been wanting you two to react to it for a long time, so I can’t wait to watch this whenever I have the time.

Odd Thomas

Anther fun time travel movie: Totally Killer

Erik Lepe

This doesn't match up with the Theatrical version. I think it's the "Unedited Version"

droodly

Think you're correct. The version I have in iTunes says (unrated) and matches up perfectly.

D. T. Nelson

Serious Time Travel movies: The Time Machine, Time After Time, Somewhere In Time, Source Code, 11/22/63 (a limited series rather than a movie), 12 Monkeys, Looper, Frequency (not exactly time "travel", but does deal with time in a big way), The Philadelphia Experiment. There are more, but that should get you started. (I realize you already saw 12 Monkeys. You also saw Edge of Tomorrow.) This was definitely not the Theatrical version. Went out of sync early in the reaction.

Brendan Rafferty

Unrated versions are not the same as director’s cuts. They are often money grabs by the studio, putting back scenes the director deliberately chose to remove for good reason. Usually better to stick with theatrical versions, unless labeled as a director’s cut.

Terdell Ferguson

100% The Unrated Version and available on HBO Max. This was an awesome reaction. Loved it!

Dominique Cloet

Have you guys seen “I Think You Should Leave”? It’s a hilarious, off the wall sketchshow on Netflix. Each episode is between 15 and 20 minutes. I’d love to see what you guys think of it.

Andrew Roach

My issue is not theatrical, director's cut or unrated versions but simply that you watch a version that is available to stream as I am confident in saying that 90% of people stream and don't do blurays or dvds anymore. I cannot find an unrated version on YouTube, Amazon Prime or Netflix so please don't do this again and make it easy on us to watch your great reactions.

Mastervodo

Cool! More Simone singing for a future JSBB video!

REDR58

Not counting the heavily censored version released in India, there are two versions of this movie, a rated version and unrated version. The unrated version is 1 minute 40 seconds longer than the rated version. There is no “unedited” or “director’s cut” version. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1231587/alternateversions/

REDR58

Nothing else with John Cusack must be watched before “Say Anything.” Ah…. Ione Skye…

The scent of film and TV is all over this RUM. Smells like freaking tee ah WANNA

The sequel is ok as far as sequels go I guess. I'd enjoy it if you watched it. I thought it was funny but definitely think the first one is funnier. I'm honestly glad you watched this one. I always wanted a reaction to it, but never recommended it myself. I did't know it A) had enough people already recommending it to get it on a poll and B) didn't think it would win a poll, but stoked it did. I underestimated it's fan base. XD. Me and my friends used to regularly find way to work "and you wrote Cinncinati on it?" and 'great white buffalo" and "Hey, John Lennon get's SHOT" into everyday conversations.

REDR58

I haven’t seen The Philadelphia Experiment since it came out. Would be fun to revisit it. Frustratingly, despite the movie being set in Philadelphia, none of it was filmed there. I’m not bitter. At all…

Henry Sanchez

Without too much context.. watch Frequency. (Hint.. it’s serious)

REDR58

Also “Rush” from 1991 with Jennifer Jason Lee. A VERY different movie from “Rush” 2013!

Farbod

Second one isnt as good but is still worth watching.

samuel Jakob

Actually never seen this before, but it was a great time! Thanks for reacting to this and making me finally watch it :D

FranciscoGios

You guys can add Rapture Palooza (2013) to your “end of the world” Poll, it’s very funny annd also it has my female Hollywood Crush in it. Similar to This Is The End.

Carl Evans

Craig Robinson said, "We're stuck in the 80s. How I am supposed to get a job?" I howled at that joke the first time I saw this. Did you get it? That and the Michael Jackson joke were two of the funniest lines in this movie.

Carl Evans

Hot Tub Time Machine is an ingenious title and concept backed up by a hilarious script. Good reaction, y'all.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Had a good rewatch of this one with y’all, especially considering it’s been nearly a decade since watching it on repeat with mates back in the day. Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry steal the show for sure. Robinson also does the same thing in Zack and Miri Make a Corno… worth checking out but the title alone would probs cause YT bot headaches 🤕🤒

Charles

Was sad Grandma's Boy lost, but I forgot how funny this movie was so it was a good watch. Check out Sex Drive in the future

Philipp Roensch

Has been a while since I have seen it, but still great. Just a perfect nights out with the dudes. Probably one of the best stoner movies. Rob Corddry carried that movie and made that baby, amazing.

dys

"We're gonna make like Hitler president or something" 2025:

michael cross

heyy whenever SIMONE is up for another horror flick. should give the theatrical version of "room 1408" a shot. its got john cusack and samuel jackson. one of my favorites

MacGuffinStuff

Simone's first intro reminded me of: "Welcome to Costco, I love you. Welcome to Costco, I love you."... Always loved that Paul Simon video. John Cusack with the suitcase full of drugs, the Hunter Thompson reference was great because Cusack was friends with Thompson, one of the loads of cool people who would hang out with him at his compound in Idaho. Rob Corddry used to be on The Daily Show, I thought he was really funny, was awesome in this. John Cusack movies are some of my favorites, of course you gotta check out Grosse Pointe Blank and Say Anything, High Fidelity, but I also love his lesser known ones like Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer (both of those are goofy 80s comedies, fun), and an obscure but good one, with Billy Bob Thornton, The Ice Harvest. Loved the soundtrack (except Poison, I never understood that band except girls liked them because the singer was hot), but it reminds me of being a kid in the 80s, and a teenager in the 90s, good times. Also, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia did an episode kinda like this, probably inspired by this, where they're basically in an 80s skiing movie, even included some actors from the 80s (Chainsaw from Summer School, which I highly recommend for a light and goody 80s comedy, directed by Carl Reiner), it's always sunny is always funny.

Brien Kliver

I love both Simone and George! And their cats!

Bella Blue

I know you have a sub group of people who always think you should do the unrated, or directors cuts or what not..I"m here to say I think you should always do the theatrical version so the reaction matches up with how people would have viewed on original release (and also, although not the case here, would be the one more likely to be found to stream the easiest ways)

REDR58

Thing is, the theatrical version of a given movie is not always the best version.

REDR58

Fun reaction. Another first-timer for me. Clark Duke, Jacob, was playing Second Life. He was also in the final season of "The Office" as "Clark Green" and in that show, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) also played Second Life. Rob Corddry (Lou) has a far more subdued but still very funny role in "The Winning Season" playing a school principal. Sam Rockwell plays the school girls' basketball coach in that movie, and Rooney Mara (Erica from "The Social Network" and Lisbeth from "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") and Emma Roberts (niece of Julia Roberts) are two of the players. Worth a watch. Lots of great songs in the movie. So much pastels, leg warmers and big hair! Kid and Play (Craig Robinson-related joke when he sees himself in the mirror)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XOqUotSQnU Lou makes a joke about preventing the cancellation of the 1983 TV series "Manimal." Here's "Manimal"!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rLnE08b5nQ One of Blaine's (Sebastian Stan) friends yells out, "Get him a body bag, Blaine!" Another Karate Kid reference as that what what one of Johnny's friends called out at the end of that movie. Paul Simon/Chevy Chase in "You can Call Me Al": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq-gYOrU8bA

Jayson Phillips

Love this movie! I was soo happy to rem the 80's

jay

Hyped to rewatch this with you guys 🤙 Counting down the minutes until the Millers reaction goes live!

StonyD

I had forgotten how much fun this movie was....great rewatch! Rob Cordry is amazing. Wish he did more.

jay

Holy fuck. This was WAY funnier than I remembered it being, and I already remembered it being pretty fucking funny. Simone, I'm so glad you pointed out Jason spiking the lens because that made the scene so much fucking funnier for me. Literally WHY did he do that? 🤣

Ste Rawlings

Rob Cordrry is also great in Harold and Kumar 2

zak

If you guys want a serious time travel film Looper is definitely worth a watch.

Tenn Seven

Looper made me wish time travel was real so I could get back the 2 hours that terrible movie stole from me.

Starman Deluxe

The movies Lou references are a joke because they're notoriously bad movies. So I wouldn't take them as recommendations lol.

MacGuffinStuff

Oh shit I just realized someone says, "I want my two dollars" in the background as John Cusack is onscreen when they're skiing and first realizing they traveled back to the 80s, a HUGE "Better Off Dead" reference!

sarCC

The best thing Lizzy Caplan has done is PARTY DOWN, a really great comedy series that it'd be great if you watched. And the best thing John Cusack has done is GROSSE POINTE BLANK, one of the many films made in the wake of Pulp Fiction but one of the few that's truly great.

Alex Ch

Sebastian Stan has a profile out in Vanity Fair today that credits the residuals from this film for saving his career in the dry period between Gossip Girl and the MCU.
