I really liked this movie. The Craig movies really vary in quality. Other Bond movies I recommend are Goldfinger (1964). It has Sean Connery. If you want something modern but still classic Bond then GoldenEye (1995). Its the first one Pierce Brosnan.

Co-stars. Jeffrey Wright & Billy Magnussen (Game Night)

I'm not sure where the franchise will go from here, but these five Bond films were a masterclass in storytelling. SPECTRE was a significant presence in the Connery Bond films. In the Moore films, the primary villains were from the Soviet Bloc. After that, and with the depletion of Ian Fleming's books, the quality of the movies declined significantly. However, this latest installment ties up the story nicely and, for me at least, provides a strong starting point for the future.

For a Roger Moore Movie, try Man with the Golden Gun with Christopher Lee as the villain.

I forgot about that.

Start with the Connery movies pick out a few of the best ones and move on from there. I mean, if it were me, I’d watch them all but that’s just me.

Bond has never really cared about continuity. Outside of a few instances most of the Bond movies are unrelated to each other. Craig's the only one that had this kind of ongoing story. Bond will just be back with a different actor (sooner rather than later now that Amazon has the reigns of it).

My neck is still hurting from that motorcycle guy getting clothes lined.

Hah the comment about Bond having being on location in a shitty apartment reminds me that if you guys want to check out a true spy story with all the shitty parts peep Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or The Spy who came in from the cold. Both movies were based on the works of John Le Carre whos considered by many the greatest espionage writer of all time and who was an actual MI6 spy for 20 years.

Sorry to disappoint but the Flutenduten thing is just an internet joke, it's not true. Flutenduten is a made-up word and Ocarina of Time is just called Ocarina of Time in german-speaking releases.

Happy endings for everyone \o/

I think like the 007 designation, the name "James Bond" gets passed from one agent to the next, kinda like "The Dread Pirate Roberts". This was a good Bond Series, I hope you continue with the Pierce Brosnan Bond films next. They're silly/goofy, but fun. If you liked Ana de Armas as an action heroine, you should check her out in "Ballerina", the John Wick spin off.

Jack

Such a waste of potential. Bond you have to go back so you can have the tragic farewell because if the shield doors aren't open the missiles will bounce off??? Wasn't this rewritten as well, they couldn't come up with a better reason for him to get caught?

There's a good idea, go through the movies backwards in chronological order of the actors. Brosnan, then. . .is it Dalton? I can't remember anything except Sean Connery was the first, and the worst. It would make sense to save the worst for the last, when you're already in deep.

Maiki

Oh wow, that's rare. May I ask why you consider Connery the worst? Do you dislike him in general or the Bond movies he made? No offence, just curious.

Lachlan Caldwell

In reverse order it goes: Pierce Brosnan (4 films), Timothy Dalton (2 films), Roger Moore (7 films), George Lazenby (1 film), Sean Connery (6 films). I wouldn't say that the Connery era films were the worst, but all the hallmarks of a great bond film: the innuendos, the double entendres, the gadgets, and the one liners, were all perfected in the Moore era.

Why does everyone rank Spectre so low? I think Spectre is better than No Time to Die and Skyfall

Well, since Amazon got its grubby mitts on the franchise we can probably expect the Monneypenny prequel series, The Adventures of Q, a trilogy about the whacky origins of Auric Goldfinger and a completely new relaunch auf the main Bond storyline with loads of cringy fan-service moments, John Wick action scenes and 007 being played by a 22 year old hearthrob who can't stop winking at the camera... :-|

Craig is in a tuxedo in all of the main Bond movie posters. The most formal is the image from "Skyfall". In "Spectre" the jacket is white which is less formal than black. in "Casino Royale" his tie and top shirt buttons are unfastened echoing the scene of his nearly dying to poison. In "Quantum of Solace" his tie is gone as he walks through the desert. The coolest poster image IMO is an alternate for "No Time to Die" where he's not in a tux. He is wearing a British commando sweater and a military style pistol holster strapped to his leg. The look is very aggressive instead of being intensely stylish. The change of image matches the change of tone for the film ending. This movie and "Casino Royale" are my favorite Craig Bond films.

Darren Harrison

I don't understand Simone's confusion at the ending. There has never been continuity in the Bond movies until "Quantum of Solace" came along. Just because Bond died in this movie does not mean there will be more Bond movies. As they have done previously, I expect the filmmakers to ignore the Craig arc of films.

Tom Buckley

My understanding is the exec producer has a strong relationship with Craig and together they agreed he would get a heroic send off, a bit like they did with Judy Dench. However, it is causing them problems now of how to restart it, it's been 6 years and they still haven't recast the role and now Amazon own the IP so it's anyone guess.

Tom Buckley

While this true he has never been killed of before.
