Going to be intrigued by your reaction to Dr. No - love it personally but it's a very different beastie!

ScottishSammo

Niiiice, I've been looking forward to the hangover 2. Personally my favourite of the three but it's going to be a good weekend with this and the waterboy 🤣🤣

Mark Rohal

I keep waiting and hoping for Slingblade to make the list..

Nathan Jasper

I hope this means we're going through all the Classic Bonds cause that's going to be FUN

Helly R

Be awesome if you're doing all the Bonds. They're hit and miss but almost always interesting. They're a pretty cool mirror to filmmaking/social/attitude evolution over time.

jay

One I’d love for you guys to do soon, “Steve Jobs” written by Aaron Sorkin featuring a surprisingly really well done dramatic role from Seth Rogen. Also, “Being John Malkovich”, directed & written by Spike Jonze, featuring who else other than John Malkovich and some other faces you guys will recognize.

Emily G

Practical Magic (1998) Ever After (1998)

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Great week ahead of viewing for y’all. The Connery Bond films are something else ☺️

Denashi

Nice! I've been (im)patiently waiting for your reaction to season 2 of Severance!

Shibby

Hopefully you'll react to Andor now it's finished, it's such a great show

jmundt33a

Word to the wise. Skip On Her Majesty’s Secret Service when/if you get there.

jmundt33a

Excellent 1998 choices. Best Cinderella and a fabulous Sandra Bullock/Nicole Kidman film.

Wormtongue

Hope you'll react to Andor... such a good show. Unlike the rest of the Star Wars franchise currently.

davidov

Exactly! 20 movies covering 4 decades. I know it's a lot but there is no rush. See the world change through the movies: tech changes, villains adapt to current world threats, movie making changes as well as new tech become available, doing stunts never done before, but also how women are portreyed (baby steps though, allthough in the third movie we meet a female pilot with her own only female flying squadron who can even hold her own when wrestling with Bond...well... I said baby steps lol) And ofcourse as with any franchise; there will always be movies you like more and ones you like less, not all 20 movies can be a 10/10, yet on the other hand everybody has their own favorites. Can't wait! They love analyzing movies while they watch, comparing it to what came before etc, I think they will love it!

Helly R

OHMSS is a fan favourite, kind of despite Lazenby.

John

Unless there is a specific goal of completing the franchise. I would recommend a poll to identify the 1-2 movies from each actor (I.e Connery Dr. No, and Goldfinger, Roger Moore Live and Let Die, For your eyes only, Dalton Living Daylights, License to Kill, Brosnan Goldeneye and Die another day). This would give you the flavor of the series but not commit you to 20 movies of varying quality as you can always return to the other movies as they are not really serialized.

Reece Chapford

Hell yeah. My wife and I get to watch Dr No. with our CineBesties!

Duncan

26 straight weeks of crappy James Bond movies ahead,so time to leave the channel for a while

iamweasel

You will finally understand Austin Powers' references to Bond.

robodong

Ah yes Duncan. because S&G only does 1 movie each week as this post clearly shows, every single one of those things in the picture are actually all bond movies. youre brilliant.

davidov

I see your point, but personally I would advise against it. Mainly for 2 reasons: first everybody has their own favorites, and it's impossible to know beforehand which will be the ones they really love, this is different for every person. In your example for instance I agree with Sean's Dr.no and Goldfinger, but I think From Russia and Only Live twice are just as iconic and important and would be left out. With Moore I think The Spy and Moonraker are the biggest most iconic ones, definatly MUST watch, but are left out. It's movies like these two that made Austin Powers possible decades later (if you ask me). Brosnan's Die Another Day is for me without doubt the worst Bond ever made, almost made me quit Bond as a fan if it wasn't for Craig who saved it, so I would definatly swap that one for another Brosnan... Only if you watch them all you can afterwards conclude what your own favorites are. Some love what I dislike, and others dislike what I love. Secondly: if you do watch just a couple, you will be left with this list of random movies with holes everywhere like a swiss cheese. Not very attractive to pick up again, other reactors who did this never returned to finish the rest and because of my previous point: there will always be people who feel they left out some of the best bits. And I know the movies aren't serialized or sequential (only a tiny little bit once every blue moon), but history itself is. If you jump through the franchise in steps of 5-10 years you will miss out on the gradual changes the world went through in the background. No disaster, but a shame if you prefer to get the most out of a watching experience. But they can ofcourse take a break after doing the first 5 Connery movies, for example. Again there is no rush, I wouldn't mind if it takes them 2 years to complete them all. I would prefer that over a Bond every week, I wouldn't mind but I can very much understand that for some/a lot of people it would definatly be too much, and the channel tries to keep everybody happy, not just a single group of fans.

UNC

Please Casino soon. It’s a shame it lost the poll.

Jacob King

Watching early Bond you’ll soon find out why A Fist Full of Dollars is so radical.

Jacob King

Practical Magic 2 is in production.

Jacob King

Yeah, skip straight to Moonraker

John

I appreciate your response, I don’t think I was clear in my example. In my example they would have a poll with each actor’s movies and select the 1-2 with the highest number of votes. This would allow for patreon participation and though everyone’s favorites would not be selected people can vote for their favorites. I appreciate the variety of the content on the channel, I think there are other franchises that could be explored with the time not spent watching every movie

Jeff I.

I do kind of wish there was an informal rule of no more than one comedy or action movie in a week, since those genres tend to dominate anyway. Like how we have two comedies on this schedule. I mean those two genres combined are a majority of movies released in general, so it makes sense statistically, but yeah. Oh well, S&G are my favorite reactors, so I'll be around regardless!

Brent bmc_comix

Dang it! Hope Heathers is coming up soon!!!

Jeff I.

They usually do the second place in the poll a couple weeks after the poll winner now, so it'll come out soon I'm sure.

jmundt33a

I love that world and those characters, but I see minimal reason for Sally and Gillian to take over the improbably beautiful grandmotherly role for Sally’s granddaughters. A sequel would have been a fantastic idea for 2003-2007 when Sally’s girls would have been in high school or itching to start their own adventures. This just feels like an idea with dust on it that some executive greenlit exclusively for nostalgia cash.

jmundt33a

Not to be confused with the Silicon Valley miniseries starring Anthony Michael Hall and Noah Wyle or Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher of all people.

Philipp Roensch

Happy to see the classic Bonds coming up, that is my comfort food.

Cinebinge

Hi Jeff, the reason the schedule can occasionally have stacking genres is due to both shooting schedule and copyright waiting time. What you see in each weeks announcements are not all filmed in the immediate preceding week. Almost all of them are done the week before, up to 12 days in advance to give time for editing and to give YT time to scan each video/reject/re-edit/reupload..etc. The only video of each week that is done in a short turn around is the weekly poll winner. This means that when we film something from the week prior, we have no way to know which movie of the next weeks poll may win, and by the time the poll has ended, the movies that goes with the winner in the same week has already been recorded and edited. In practice it works like this: 1. Waterboy officially won the poll yesterday. 2. We will be watching it Monday. 3. The Hangover Part 2 and Dr No was watched and recorded this Monday/Tuesday along side last weeks poll winner. 4. Hangover and Dr No were edited yesterday and will be sitting waiting for YT to scan and potentially reject (and there for re-edit) for the next 7-9 days. So as you can see, by the time we are recording Hangover and Dr No, this weeks poll had only just begun. The same will go for next weeks poll and so on. This system became the way it is over the years through trial and error, primarily driven by the need to give YT time to scan and reject videos (there for giving us time to re-edit), as well as to give us a little runway each week incase theres emergencies that requires to post-pone recording, so that we are always 1-2 weeks ahead with the exception of the weekly poll results.

jmundt33a

I like Diamonds Are Forever and The Man With the Golden Gun. Skipping to Moonraker when avoiding Lazenby can lose a lot.

Cinebinge

Sorry to see you leave Duncan, thanks for the support!

jmundt33a

Lazenby’s amateurishness is part of the problem. The other is for most of the action scenes they do that accelerated reel trick and it’s even more jarring in SS than something like Goldfinger. George’s performance and the technical gaffes make this unwatchable for me. Which is very weird because I was more forgiving of Die Another Day than most, both at the time and in years since. But OHMSS should be a fan favorite. It has Diana Rigg, and an attempt at more emotional depth.

Emily G

I’m so excited but I really hope they don’t ruin it like so many other late sequels 🙏

Ben Stevens

I'm overjoyed you guys were so intrigued by the Brosnan/Craig Bonds you decided to go back and start completing the series. It was one of my late father's favorite franchises from his younger years, and a deeply formative one for me to grow up with. As much as you guys dig cheese, kitsch, and camp, the Bond series always delivers. I also love how random the movie selection process is, so don't change a thing. Some weeks we get romance over action, or a drama over a comedy, and the variety adds to the spiciness of this channel. Just keep watching and don't focus too too much on the vocal feedback, you're on the right track and there's still tons of great films out there for you guys to react to. Love you guys, have a good weekend!!!

Monica Alarcon

Yaaay classic Bond!! I grew up watching these with my dad. I hope you do all of them. Even bad Bond is entertaining...

davidov

Fair enough, doing it through polls would indeed be the best way to give patreons the option to decide for themselves. Most democratic for sure, but it would make watching them in order practically impossible by default. I think Patreons are too diverse (chaotic) to let polls come to the most extreme orderly result which is watching from A to Z. For me, as somebody who is really looking forward to it, my toes curl up at the thought of it lol. I understand the feeling of "other movies/franchises that could be explored instead of spending so much time on this one", but that's unevitable with reactors, I see it as part of the deal; they will often have to binge through content one isn't interested in, but when they start something you do love you're in heaven. For example I think Marvel is mostly ok, sometimes great, and very now and then brilliant. Even if I thought "I rather have them spending time on something else" I wouln't want them to put up polls for which movies to watch and which to skip. To me watching a franchise means watching it from A to Z, no matter If I like the franchise or not. I wouldn't want Harry Potter fans to pick which movies to watch and which not to. That's why I think doing the Bond movies in 4-5 batches would be best. Just like they are allready doing with TV shows; finish one season, then switch for something else, only to come back after some time to finish the next season. This way people who love it get it all, be it spread out over time in order to give other shows a chance as well, and people who don't love it don't have to wait forever untill something else comes along. Sharing is all about the giving and taking, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. As long as I feel there is some balance between all the different content I should be content, and I think CB have been masters at that, so I'm not worried.

Spacedone

Just remember, those old Bonds are a product of their time and some things haven't aged well... :D

Spacedone

+1 to this. Some of the best TV of the decade so far.

Vengeance

Always fun to see how the donuts get made. Thanks for the peek behind the curtain, just ignore the man back there.

China Andronicus

I love classic Bond! My parents were classic film nuts but somehow missed the boat on these and I only got into them this past year. As some have said, they are very much a product of their time in some ways, but they’re loads of fun. Also, justice for George Lazenby. 💕

Kyle B

Dr. No is equal parts spy movie, and hotel and resort advertisement.

sarCC

And RRR!

Faidra Galaxy

Awww yeah, The Waterboy. 😎 "Now that's some high quality H2O." By the way, the director for the film is Frank Coraci, who also directed Click (2006).

Ari Ramirez

Dr. No more like Dr. OH YES

Jasbro

Waterboy is so good, hopefully Little Nicky makes an appearence sometime in the future.

cincassette

I'm all in for some classic James Bond! Sean Connery will always be my favourite in the role. A bit similar in style to the classic Bonds is Hitchcock's "North by Northwest"... definitely worth a watch if you're into that slick mid-century espionage vibe.

Alex Ch

I really like it, and I think it’s great to see after you’ve seen Inception to see an influence on Nolan.

Alex Ch

Since we’re going back to a lot of sequels to originals we haven’t seen in a while, I’d like to point out that Gremlins 2 is a summer movie and not a Christmas film.

Bookwormy

Still surprised Waterboy won, I hope Lost Boys comes up on another poll. Adam Sandler is still hilarious, though, so it will be a fun rewatch.

jmundt33a

Charade is a solid spy film with humor.

jmundt33a

That makes me so sad. To follow up Waterboy with such a missed opportunity. Just makes the whole exercise in agony worse.

jmundt33a

Bringing out classic Bond reminds me to mention Lucky Number Slevin once again.

jmundt33a

The batting average on projects like these is not encouraging.

jmundt33a

It’s a personal favorite.

jmundt33a

He got plenty of justice for his performance at the time. He was plain serviceable as Major Charles on the Pretender 4 decades later. At the time? Hoo boy.

China Andronicus

All I ever heard was what a terrible Bond he made, when honestly I think people were just mad to see Connery go. I think he did splendidly, and he’s also amazing in Gettysburg. Love him.

ExquisiteCapybara

please let this be the start of a james bond marathon.

24fps_

Yes Slevin is amazing. It was direct to DVD in Germany here..unbelievable with that cast...
