Senec

Severance! Nom nom nom nom!

Śéáń

I haven't seen Nightcrawler in years, great choice of film.

Inkpendude

Sunday we are going back in time

FrancescoTakesItEasy

Road Trip! 4K disc is coming out in a month. Got it on pre-order. Gonna save the reaction.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Ayy some great viewing this week! Road Trip’s a riot and Nightcrawler is peak Gyllenhaal; plus it brings to mind that Dan Gilroy (who wrote it works and frequently with his brother Tony) just finished up Andor which is highly recommended!

JoshG

Another great Jake Gyllenhaal movie is “Prisoners”

Jon Johns

I'm not sure how your scheduling works? Like, have you watched casino yet? Do you post full length reactions with 24-48 hours after watching? Generally speaking, that is, I know there are always exceptions. Anyway, Casino is one that I'll be watching full length, which, I don't usually do, because my personal time is so limited. I don't particularly love that movie? I just really want to see YOU watch it 🥰. I hope you two are well! Healthy, happy, safe, and full of the same kind of joy you bring to all of us on a weekly basis.

Forkbeard83

Casino is a time travel movie?

DemNikoArt

What a great week! 😃😃😃

TomGas2025

Oh YESS!!! THE STAR TREK MOVIES!!! To boldly go where no man has Gone before!

802jay

End of Watch is another great Gyllenhaal movie if either of you haven't seen it. Also Source Code is another Gyllenhaal movie i'd recommend if you wanna add it to a future poll

Cinebinge

Nope, everything we watch and record is done 5-12 days in advance before posting in Patreon. 5 days for voted films, everything else gets up to 2 weeks. For one thing we need to give time for editing, theres just too much each week to be able to do them immediately right after recording. But more importantly its to give YT scan time to reject uploads, so we can re-edit and reupload again. Lastly, it gives us some run way incase of emergencies or power outages and so on, so we can always just double up when its over and there would be no interruption of content flow for Patrons.

Ashton Lewis

Casino and Nightcrawler in the same week 🤤 what a time to be alive

Jon Johns

Thank you!!! I appreciate all your hard work. 🥰

Stefan Daniw

Please do a sequel movie poll

robodong

do you have specific suggestions? lol or just generally any sequel. cause if S&G hasnt seen them, they wont know whats good or bad and we may end up with more Terrifier or Tremor sequels...

Michael

Their April Fool's Joke is they're doing April again!

Michael

Great Scott!!

Ginger

So looking forward to sunday and to wednesdays from now on <3

802jay

Idk if it's ever been recommended or not but for a future TV show to check out I think you both would really enjoy The Bear. It's labeled as a comedy but has a lot of drama aspects and it's really good :)

KyloJames

Hell YES! Jam-packed week ahead, thank you Cinebinge 🫶🫶🙏🙏

jmundt33a

Ella has nothing in common with Nightcrawler. I can see the mob throughline on Road to Perdition and Get Shorty

802jay

Ahh didnt know it was on a previous poll. Unlucky as it's a good watch :(

Gaius Frakking Baltar

I pray that we'll be seeing the Director's Edition of Star Trek: TMP. It's vastly superior to the theatrical version

Ben Stevens

Holy cow what a stacked week of content! ST:TMP is well worth the watch, and thankfully you guys have done all the old episodes, and some more classic films the past few weeks, because the common refrain among criticisms of The Motion Picture is that it's "boring" sci-fi. Star Trek was never so much about action in space as it was about space ethics and politics. Keep that in mind, and I think you'll find TMP a great story. Road Trip and Nightcrawler differ vastly in tone, but are both rewarding watches in their own ways: RT will definitely make you laugh, and Nightcrawler will absolutely be a suspenseful watch too. Casino at the end of the week for a nice, relaxing, old fashioned mob movie. Guess I'll be here another month you crazy Canadians. <3 k bye

Cinebinge

Not sure, it's the only version available on prime video. It didn't specifically say directors though so perhaps not?

Brandon

Holy shit that's a banger week. 🤯 Road Trip is perfect for "Uncovered" since it has the classic theatrical/unrated situation we've all come to know.

TomGas2025

Probably not...when you watched the TOS show there were only the old special FX shown. In my psrt of the world only the enhanced versions are available via Paramount +. But here we go with one of the best looking ships in SciFi. Still wonderful to see how big it is even from inside. Really fantastic effect shots for the 70s. You can see that they poured a lot of money into it. Still my 2nd favorite Star Trek spaceship design behind the USS Excelsior.

Tim Pierce

Forgot Road Trip even existed. You're spoiling me this month.

Big.Bad.Mr.Mustard

Again, I'll throw in Prisoners as another great Gyllenhaal movie.

Dwight Scarn

Road Trip was a great comedy!....Stifler and Tom Green in the same movie?

Ron

I just looked on Prime (which redirects to Paramount+), and it's 128 minutes which suggests, unfortunately, that P+ only has the theatrical version. (Caveat: This is info on Prime and not P+; P+ might have the latest version of the Director's Cut 2022 but I don't know and can't see that from here. Please check the runtime first. It should be about 2 hrs 16 min.) (Also, this is weird since P+ promoted the 2022 4k bluray and streamed it exclusively on their platform. Prime might simply have bad Metadata - - which it often does.) But, it looks like YouTube, Google Play, and Fandango have the Director's Cut. * YouTube: Both Director's Cut versions (2 hrs 11 min and 2 hrs 16 min). (It's the 2nd one in the list; both are labeled with the same name.) * Google Play: 2 hrs 16 min * Fandango: 2 hrs 17 min I highly recommend the 2 hr 16 or 17 min version of the Director's Cut which is from 2022.

Cinebinge

Not sure, it's the only version available on prime video. It didn't specifically say directors though so perhaps not?

Liam Nissan

Can I make a humble request for when you do Trivia? (One of my favorite things you do BTW) A lot of the time it feels like you just start from the top and scroll through.. However, IMDB’s Trivia section has 3 separate parts, in order they are, Non-spoiler trivia, Spoilery trivia, and at the bottom, a list of cameos.. I feel like you are missing out only going through the first section.. In particular Hacksaw had some great stuff classed as spoilers..

PureGonzo

Both Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman are phenomenal in that

Ron

When you search for "star trek the motion picture directors cut" on Amazon Prime Video, the thumbnail is for "ST: TMP: The Director's Edition". When you hover over it, though, the runtime, is only 2 hrs and 8 min. I sent a note to Prime about the mixup. Hopefully, they can answer.

Michael Seaney

It would be nice to see the Directors cut if possible. The original theatrical version was rushed incomplete to theatres 1979. Glad director Robert Wise got to oversee a more completed version before he died in 2005, which was late fine tuned again in 2022; when scanned to 4K.

Mike FromOz

This is setting up to be a great week! As with other people, I can fully recommend "Prisoners" as a great Gyllenhaal movie. It expertly brought in tension that seemingly few other movies know how to master.

nossieboy

Nightcrawler is excellent.

Zephyr (AD)

Begun, the Trek movies have! I've been enjoying your Original Series journey so far, really interested to see what you think of the movies!

UNC

Fantastic week on tap! Thanks again for all the great content!

Angel Baby

Y’all should react to Varsity Blues

Jonathan Eaton

I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is how to make recommendations but here they are. Movies: 1. Adaptation (by the guy that wrote Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It stars Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep) 2. Limitless (I think George will like this. It stars Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro) 3. About Time (My personal all time favorite and I think Simone will enjoy it. It stars Rachel McAdams.) As for TV shows 1. Fargo(Each season is a complete story so you could break them up overtime) 2. Dexter 3. The Sopranos

Maiki

+1 Limitless and About Time. de Niro, not Pacino btw :) And best way to recommend stuff is either in the comments of the most recent poll or via DM. Welcome! :)

Khan1001

Yay! Finally the Star Trek Movies begin! I would recommend watching (unless you have already recorded) Star Trek The Motion Picture 1979 The Directors Edition 4K remastered version which is 2h16m, its the best version in my opinion, the theatrical is 2h12m which is fine however the 2h16m adds some really important scenes, don't bother with the special longer version 2h24m it really drags and the director, the late great Robert Wise did not approve of this extra longer version. OMG!, Nightcrawler, Casino and Severance S2 as well! oh boy oh boy!

Jonathan Eaton

Ha, I pictured Pacino, but you're right. Same vibe without the yelling. ;)

Ben from Tenn

Glad I gave Severance a shot, never thought I'd be amped for a season 2 of a sci-fi show, so thank you for doing the show, exceeded my expectations! Another YT channel I follow, if I may, has an amazing ~40 min recap of season 1...which for me is great because I miss so much and it cleared up some stuff. Pete Peppers, dude doesn't miss anything. Found him during Better Call Saul when the final season of that aired live. If interested check it out!

LeperMessiah117

I got confused and thought there were 3 cuts. Theatrical, Director's Edition (on DVD) and Director's Cut (on blu-ray), like the DC was an updated version of DE or something, but I guess it was just renamed? Because nobody ever calls them "director's editions" anymore. Not even sure if that term exists anywhere other than that old DVD.

Kelly Pickard

For future consideration… Movies: - Waking Ned Devine (1998) - The Devil Wears Prada (2006) - Hook (1991) - The Birdcage (1996) - Margin Call (2011) - The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (1994) - The King's Speech (2010) - Flash Gordon (1980) - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023) TV - Andor - Batman: The Animated Series - Disney's Gargoyles - Barry (Max)

Robert Evans

'NIghtcrawler' from the creative mind behind 'Andor' and the art themed horror film on Netflx 'Velevet Buzzsaw'

Logan Kerlee

I would LOVE for them to react to Batman: The Animated Series! I loved that show so much as a youngster. It holds up really well today even, with my standards for cartoon shows. :)

Logan Kerlee

Hell, Barry would make for an excellent reaction as well. I big time enjoyed that show. Disney's Gargoyles would be a fun show to check out but I don't know if I could support them watching the entire series. It's definitely fun but I don't know how long that lasts. Andor's one that I haven't watched all of so it feels unfair to comment on that one. What little I saw of it, I enjoyed though.

Kelly Pickard

Oooooh wow, I didn't know there might be a director's cut of the 1990 TMNT movie! I'd love to see what that's like. And yeah, the Batman TAS era of the original Fox art style is untouchable, in my opinion. Each episode felt like a short film. The animation was just GORGEOUS. The understanding of each major character was spot on. The voice acting was impeccable. It really set the bar for Batman adaptations.

Terry Light

Excited for Nightcrawler

Lintrinsic

Letting us know how many minutes long it is might help identify which version.

Lintrinsic

I have 2 versions on Amazon. One with my P+ sub that's 128 minutes doesn't say which version it is but says it's the Directors Edition on the trailer. And a version you can buy that's the Director's edition remastered at 136 mins. (That's probably the version I have on Blu-ray.) There is no free prime version available, maybe because I'm in the UK. Unfortunately I don't have the TOS movies on DVD. I'm not really fussed which version. It depends what is wanted from it. If you want as close as possible to the viewing experience on release go theatrical, if improved graphics, more polish and cut scenes inserted matters to you go with a later cut. Only exception to this is VI where I hate the directors cut for killing the tension in a crucial scene, and I won't go into further detail. But I'd like to know which version to cue up.

Happy Memorial Day…for it means we are only 1 day away from Woe’s Hollow!!
