Jeff K.

Damn... there are some bangers on this one. But definitely voting for Mohicans and UNCLE first.

Mastervodo

UNCLE is so underrated.

Mike FromOz

Come on Mohicans and Death Proof/Planet Terror! With the last two, it's better to watch their individual versions than the amalgamation, but if it's all they have access to, that'll have to do.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Man From UNCLE is an under the radar gem. Whole lotta fun to be had. Equilibrium is a trip too

Ali D

Mohicans is great, but so is Robin Hood in a dreadfully cheesy, fun kinda way

Lee Fernee

DEAD MANS SHOES please.

Felreign

Count of Monte Cristo at last!

jmundt33a

Oh look, a bunch of awesome stuff. And also The Man From Uncle. So wish Atomic Blonde or Lucky Number Slevin, or even The One got that spot.

Zack Gallardo

Robinhood was a childhood favorite of mine. A little hokey but the tree houses... Bows and arrows... Mrigan freeman! What else do you need.

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

Equilibrium is very little known early Christian Bale performance. One of the first DVD I bought with my own money. Seeing it in the poll made my day

jmundt33a

Why inflict inferior Hammer on your fellow Cinebingers?! That’s just cruel. Not as cruel as The Lone Ranger, but still…

JOEDATOR

The full “Grindhouse” experience, if you can find it, complete with trailers, would be right up your alley. It’s got laughs, gore, and it’s a little lesson in cinema history.

Nabikon

I can't not vote for Patriot Games. It opens it up for Clear and Present Danger. Also, Equilibrium is an underrated banger

Liam Nissan

such a wonderfully silly movie..

Jeromy M

Can't believe the count of Monte Christo isn't winning.

JOEDATOR

Oh I don’t agree with that. I think the double feature plus trailers, as the filmmakers intended, is the way to go!

Jeromy M

Still got a bootleg of that with all the extra trailers

Dirge Girl

Michael Wincott. The warden of the Chateau d'If... and the, "Why a spoon, cousin? Why not an axe?" He's also the cocaine-vampire in The Crow. Also, also... we need to get Nope (2022) up ins.

Max

Seeing it in the poll also made my day. I think more people should react to it.

Forkbeard83

Prince of Thieves for Alan Rickman as Sherriff of Nottingham! Equalibrium is an under-viewed great.

Zhivko Yakimov

And was dissed in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, mostly referring to Kevin Costner's accent. Don't get me wrong, I consider Costner one of the great actors of our time. Besides, the reason for his poor accent is that they probably didn't have enough time for a vocal coach to train him properly. Yet, it puts a cheesy feel, along with the great Alan Rickan (RIP), who kind of lets loose in this, especially towards the end - worth watching for that alone :)

jmundt33a

Also Captain Rochefort from Three Musketeers (1993)

Zhivko Yakimov

I hope that Deathproof/Planet Terror wins, it is just one of a kind, with all the irony and homage to 1970s horror cinema. Also, don't forget the fake (at the time) trailers, these are a work of art on their own :) I say "at the time" because most of these were made into actual movies later on ...

jmundt33a

It is not. The tv show may be.

Spacedone

Bit disappointed to see the slightly more serious Patriot Games, Monte Cristo or Mohicans lagging behind but I guess when they're in a poll with the bonkers Grindhouse double-bill and the cheese-fest but brilliant Alan Rickman performance aka Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves they didn't stand a chance. Equilibrium was one of those movies that just didn't leave any lingering impression on me. I remember thinking it was ok but I can't really remember any part of it. Same for Man from UNCLE really.

Robert Cooper

Patriot Games is fine, only because it takes you to Clear and Present. Equilibrium is the best bad movie ever made. It's a dumb story with a dumb concept in a derivative world... But it looks like a million bucks.

Florian

What a poll, I could vote for everything 😅

Daniel Smith

From this list, Last f the Mohicans all day long. It just looks amazing.

HUGO TORRES

Saddens me to see man from uncle and count of monte cristo as the 2 least voted on

The Gunslinger

Equilibrium is a very underrated film. Another underrated Christian Bale movie you should check out is Reign of Fire.

Onno Smits

I can't remember the last time one of these polls actually resulted in a movie I had any interest in seeing you guys react to... 😅 Like genuinely, it must've been at least a full year. Thankfully, you also pick your own movies and I vibe with those more, most of the time. But dang, this community's modal taste has changed drastically over the past 3.5 years I've been a patron. EDIT: Reading this back it sounds negative. I didn't mean it that way. It was just an observation on how the results of these polls are obviously a measure of the community, and that that community is an interesting changing entity over time.

beecroft adams

Falling Down. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. A Time to Kill. Hook. Edward Scissorhands. Ronin. The Long kiss Goodnight. Copycat. Fallen. Life is Beautiful. Barton Fink. Inside Man. Quiz Show. Pleasantville. Kiss the Girls. The Ghost and the Darkness. Platoon. Little Shop of Horrors. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Ian Hunt

Time for my now regular shout out for Patriot Games, solely due to the fact it hopefully means you’ll do Clear and Present Danger

olly.enn

Same here, but I also hope they might eventually also arrive at "The Sum of All Fears". Re-watched it recently, still liked it a lot. Very underrated Jack Ryan movie imho (the book is also pretty neat, although different).

Kenny240

Wow. The poll is pretty stacked this week. Cant go wrong with any of these.

Alex Laime

Agreed love them both, but Monte Cristo is one of my favorites

jmundt33a

I feel Uncle is getting what it deserves, but the Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorites.

jmundt33a

Sad. Hope it gets another shot soon.

Erinn Daum

This specific version of Monte Cristo is so lovely too.

Warmachine1228

Can't wait for The Long Kiss Goodnight to be on and do well on a poll. It has some truly great one-liners.

Lalalenski

Last of the Mohicans, my late mother's favourite. Stunning with an incredible score

RLYtoxic

Pleasantville is such a good movie.

jmundt33a

The diss became a self-own because Brooks missed so badly. He went from boundary-breaking to self-referential, to broadly commercial to lowest effort acceptable. Your mileage may vary, but Men In Tights felt like the first unarguable entry in that last category for me. Where he and the Airplane/Naked Gun boys were competing for the same laughs and the same dollars as fast as possible. And their paths would intersect the next year with Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

Jeff K.

Saw it in the theater. Only one other person was there. And it was still the most memorable movie going experience of my life because of how unique the experience was with the back-to-back B-movies and all of the weird fake trailers.

Jeromy M

TCOMC is one of those films and books I wish I could watch and read for the first time again.

Jay Willis

I'm just excited to see Equilibrium on the list, and to see it actually as one of the leaders is awesome. Such an underrated movie. Hopefully this means even if it loses it'll win soon ;)

jmundt33a

They were in a rush. Robin Wright dropped out late because of her pregnancy, so MEM stepped in. And Kevin was VERY busy around then. Honestly, the Christian Slater casting kinda gets a pass for its own What the Hell factor.

Raymond DeGraw

Looking forward to several on this poll... Hoping for The Count of Monte Cristo. Also wanting to see reactions to these in the future... 1. R.E.D. 2. Get Shorty 3. Falling Down 4. The Long Kiss Goodnight 5. Secondhand Lions

Random Nevermind

Two action movies for the next action poll: Nikita 1990 Le Professionnel (1981) Thank you.

maikeru

No Retreat No Surrender (1986) - Simone liked the songs in Bloodsport, this one is also entertaining with some good songs and training montage, and with JCV in it.

jmundt33a

Another Shane Black treat

Brian's Dog

All these movies are good. But Grindhouse will be the best reaction.

Stephanie

Yes to A Time To Kill, Hook, Kiss The Girls and The Ghost And The Darkness. The 90's was such a good decade regarding movies and music.

rictus grin

i do like a bit of gun-fu ;) so equilibrium gets my vote. out of the whole list grindhouse is the only one i didn't enjoy

Jeromy M

Please, please, if Grindhouse wins. Ensure you watch the double feature with the faux trailers. The individual film releases are extended but it must be watched the first time in the format it was released.

jmundt33a

Time To Kill, best film summation. For my demographic anyway. Best Lois Lane on film or tv. Long Kiss Goodnight. Before there was Bourne, there was Charlie Baltimore Fallen—genuinely spooky with a fantastic cast Inside Man—Excellent all the way around Pleasantville is fun, even when serious Kiss The Girls and its success explain why studios keep returning to Alex Cross Quiz Show is surprisingly deep for a game show scandal flick.

ShōNuff3K

Cristo is pretty darn good

fox_e_crow

Agreed, Equilibrium is the most fun you’ll have on that list.

fox_e_crow

How about that Fury Road sequel, also? That shit was tight.

Robert Finlay

Please review Flash Gordon (1980)

Chase Lonnergan

And it's accidentally the most racist martial arts movie of the 80s, which is hilarious to me. Gotta make sure they watch the US cut, which has the better montage song.

Opti_Frog

The full Grindhouse experience? Yes please!

ShōNuff3K

It's mind boggling that Cristo is in last place.

Dioskur

Equilibrium. Because its good and unique. Stylish as well. Just watch it allready!

beefjerkywizard

I guess like the count we have to patient

FWPJR.

I’m really hoping Robin Hood wins this, when it was out in theaters I saw it multiple times and I love it. But if it doesn’t I know you two will react to it sometime in the future, and I look forward to whenever that is.

R. Chang

Equilibrium isn’t a good movie, but it is a fun movie.

Logan Nelson

Let's get Cube and Primer on a Sci fi poll next!!!

Chris B

Man from Uncle - one of the most stylish movies ever!

CT

Grindhouse!!!

Chris G

Last of the Mohicans isn't getting the traction it deserves, but please keep it in mind for a future reaction!

Mycenaeus

"Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" is quite bad, I'd suggest to watch instead "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938), Disney's animated "Robin Hood" (1973), "Robin and Marian" (1976), starring Sean Connery, "Ivanhoe" (1952), and of course "The Court Jester" (1955).

Tami Hart

DEATHPROOOOOOF!!!!

JoeE

Would also recommend to live and die in la, stagecoach, millers crossing

Balmung

The count of monte cristo is a masterpiece of a revenge story. Absolute classic

Stephen

Count of Monte cristo plssssss

Ben Stevens

only one pick getting my vote this week, and it's the only choice that's two in one! go grindhouse go!

Jeb Manning

If you do the Grindhouse double bill, there's also some spinoffs from it that you should check out later: -Machete (2010) -Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) -Machete Kills (2013) -Thanksgiving (2023)

RedCrusade

Nice, finally Last of the Mohicans arrives in the poll! One of my all time favorites

China Andronicus

Yes for Hobo with a Shotgun! Rutger Hauer is always phenomenal!

China Andronicus

You should watch the Adventures of Robin Hood from ‘38. It has Errol Flynn, Basil Rathbone, Olivia DeHavilland, Claude Rains, and more. It’s a true epic and the blueprint for all versions that came after. Other recommendations: The Lion in Winter (1968) Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Breaker Morant Rebel Without a Cause Harold and Maude The Thin Man A Streetcar Named Desire The Imposters (1998) The Goodbye Girl (1977)

Jonathan Eaton

Some recommendations: Pacific Heights (1990), A Bronx Tale (1993), Pirate Radio (2009)

Fuckerage

Spellbound 1945 - Alfred Hitchcock for watch

Bruce Liddle

Quite simply the finest film ever made.

Brandon

IMO the Grindhouse double feature is the ONLY way to watch those 2 movies.

Subject entry 4

So its bee. A couple years but will we ever see you guys with the mandalorian season 3?

jmundt33a

I prefer him happy over him hollow and the next generation happy. That said, the black and white version is a bit egregious.

Tom Hess

I'm surprised you guys have seen Men in Tights but not Prince of Thieves. It's a bit like watching Hots Shots before Top Gun. Voted Last of the Mohicans, I think it's the best one in the poll. Honorable mention for Equilibrium. Its action scenes are ridiculously fun. Can you please add Waterworld (1995) to a future poll? As far as Costner films go, I think it's one of the best.

cincassette

Grindhouse (the 3h 11m cut) is an awesome experience! An homage to the grimy B-movie experience in rundown movie theatres of the 60s/70s, complete with damaged film stock, film grain, cigarette burns, and fake trailers. And of course a gory Rodriguez/Tarantino double feature! I think it would be a very fun reaction.

Ryan Skinner

Prince of Thieves is a childhood favorite of mine, that I think holds up incredibly well! (or maybe it's a heavy dose of nostalgia, idk lol) Fingers crossed!

Michael Buhl

I'd like to add The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension to this poll.

Tom M

The only good thing about Prince of Thieves is it could lead to Men in Tights. I vote for Mohicans.

Dakota

You wanna laugh, then I recommend "Noises Off". Great comedy starring Michael Cain.

Tom M

Oh they watched Men in Tights. I forgot.

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

OK, I'm happy to see it on a poll, but if The Last of the Mohicans is going to come in 4th(?!) then in my opinion steps will have to be taken, because the movie is a MUST see for any true cinephile. It has some the most beautiful cinematography you could ever want to see and while it does have a lot of great action set pieces, it's really more of a historical drama / period piece.

Spacedone

Personally I prefer PG to CaP but each to their own :)

PIG

They need to break during intermission to keep the experience. I wish they did intermissions nowadays :(

Adam

The most competitive poll since I've been here.

Dorran

Honestly, I think that The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare should be on the list XD

Divinerights

As long as you go into planet terror knowing it’s absurdist

James Falato

"The Count of Monte Cristo" 2002 is a "Must See/React to"... It has Adventure/Romance/A Chuckle-or-2... And I'll be Stunned/Shocked if Both-of-You Don't Like This Classic Tale...

Rupert Purcat

The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) clear must see, Man from Uncle (2015) the best movie from a TV series, great fun.

Cam

Death Proof!!!!!

Robert Davenport

Lots of good choices here - Last of the Mohicans and Count of Monte Cristo are two of my favorites.

Gary Trousdale

Last of the Mohicans also has a fantastic score.

Jonathan Eaton

What about the Machete's earlier movie, Spy Kids?

Dan Holmes

If GRINDHOUSE wins, which it should, make sure you watch the theatrical release with "fake" trailers etc. not sure where to find it but it exists out there. at least watch it in the correct order which is Planet Terror THEN Death proof. also The Count of Monte Cristo needs to be seen :)

Alex Ch

Thinking about Drive coming up has reminded me that George and Simone may have never seen Albert Brooks doing comedy. Maybe “Defending Your Life” would be the most popular place to start?

Jonathan Eaton

Yesterday (2019), Billy Elliot (2000), Pink Floyd - The Wall (1982), Excalibur (1981), The Dark Crystal (1982), Powder (1995), Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

sarCC

The two I voted for as soon as I saw them!

sarCC

I hope Andor makes it onto the next TV poll.

Tyler Foster

Both the individual Grindhouse films *and* the theatrical 3-hour double feature were released on disc and may be available on digital so it shouldn't be an issue. But I do hope this is seen because yes, if Grindhouse is watched, it should be a single "movie" that is actually 3 hours long and has trailers and stuff embedded in it.

Tyler Foster

Although others have mentioned it and I'm guessing you already know having put it on the poll as a double feature, just because it makes a big difference in the end result, I'll add to the comments explaining that Grindhouse as a feature film is NOT the same as watching the separate movies Planet Terror and Death Proof back to back. Grindhouse (3:11:03) has fake trailers and theater bumpers integrated into the running time along with the two movies, which is what people probably want you to watch. It's designed to simulate the experience of being in a 1970s theatrical grindhouse watching a genre double feature. The separate Planet Terror (1:45:33) and Death Proof (1:53:36) were released as unrated features that are extended from the versions included in Grindhouse and don't feature the bumpers and trailers, so there's also the issue that if the two separate movies are just watched back-to-back, those with the complete Grindhouse program will not be able to sync because the movies are altered.

sarCC

Also, Broadcast News!

Tyler Foster

I like The Count of Monte Cristo, more than I recall liking Equilibrium (although I recall enjoying it as well), but I also think movies that are stereotypically "cool" are going to beat movies that are more traditional. Count of Monte Cristo strikes me as being a pretty straightforward classic swashbuckler even though it was made in the 21st century. That said, I do think they would enjoy it; they enjoyed Mask of Zorro and I think Count of Monte Cristo has a fair amount in common with it.

Tyler Foster

Would love to see Man From U.N.C.L.E. get more reactor love.

Tyler Foster

They've already done Ted. I hope it got Flash Gordon on their radar.

Tyler Foster

@Jeromy: FYI, this version is available on Blu-ray. However, you should make sure you buy used. It was originally distributed by Genius Products when TWC was still in business, but then their copies were sold to Lionsgate. Unfortunately, Lionsgate is selling it incorrectly now: instead of the disc with Grindhouse (3h version with trailers) and a bonus disc, they're putting the individual Blu-rays of Planet Terror and Death Proof inside. So use eBay so you can see in photos of the item what the discs look like, as they should say "Grindhouse" on them.

Tyler Foster

I love Lucky Number Slevin, but I love The Man From U.N.C.L.E. almost as much. Why must they fight?

Tyler Foster

Well, to be fair, both versions are as the filmmakers intended. But I agree that in this case they should watch the full thing with the trailers and bumpers.

jmundt33a

This is one I went in wanting to like and it just didn’t work for me. Like RocknRolla or Revolver level MISERABLE. Even the flirt fighting felt like they couldn’t think of dialogue, not a debate/seduction with fists I HATED it.

jmundt33a

Yesterday, Powder, and Billy Elliot.

Shaka, When the Walls Fell

Really hoping for Equilibrium. Even if it doesn't win, I hope you still react to it. It's such an underrated beautifully stylized dystopian gem. I think you can count the total number of reactions to it on one hand.

Emily G

I really hope you guys do the Patriot (2000) at some point

Galactic Cannibl

Strange Wilderness (2008) best Happy Madison movie imo. Great cast! More Kurt Russell either Going Overboard or Tango and Cash Jungle Cruise (2021) Looper (2012) The Adam Project (2022)

Stephanie Bedworth

I saw it back when it came out on video and I remember it being fine. Entertaining but nothing that really stuck with me at all after it was over. Now admittedly I’ve never been the biggest fan of Jim Caviezel so that might have something to do with my lukewarm reaction to it.

Greg In East TN

I can't believe you've not reacted to Kelly's Heroes yet! (or if you have I sure can't find it). It stars Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, and an all-star cast. It's a MUST see!

Chase Lonnergan

Awwwww...poop. I was so close to getting an Equilibrium reaction.

Todd

I've never seen nor heard of it, but my choice wasn't going to win, and I know that sinking feeling, so you got my vote!

Jeff I.

They usually do the second place poll winner a few weeks after the poll, so I'm sure we'll get it soon.

BellaBlue

Requests for your consideration: 3 courses of Sophie Thatcher fun weirdness w 3 sides of other weird and fun films - The Boogeyman (2023) - Heretic (2024) - Companion (2025) - Cuckoo (2024) - Strange Darling (2023) - Longlegs (2024)

michael denny

yes, my favorite movie. We just need to keep putting those positive waves out man.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

“The Brutalist” is a recent example of a movie willing to give the audience an intermission and actually plays well into the story. I hope someone like Scorsese keeps that in mind the next he tries releasing another +3hr movie, even though I’ve enjoyed his recent epics.

Tyler Foster

The one alternate suggestion that would maybe be a little annoying but would ultimately work would be to watch the two unrated cuts (which as djKENTO says above, are technically more available), and just also watch the four fake trailers made for the film as a block within the same full-length/edited video. Wouldn't be ideal, but given the 3:11:03 version is not available for streaming and is only on physical media, it might be necessary. Many will say there are five fake trailers, but the official film only contains four, one directed by Rodriguez himself, one directed by Rob Zombie, one directed by Edgar Wright, and one directed by Eli Roth (I won't say the titles for them because they're sort of part of the experience to discover on your own). The fifth trailer, by Jason Eisener, is actually a contest winner, and was mostly included on screenings in Canada, so it is officially associated with the film, but is not part of the original theatrical 3:11:03 presentation.

Tyler Foster

I will be happy to be done with the Harrison Ford Jack Ryans in order to get to The Sum of All Fears. Nothing against those movies, but I felt they became more generic action thrillers, whereas Sum of All Fears is the only one that attempted more of a political chess game-style thriller like The Hunt For Red October.

Tyler Foster

To each their own. I feel like the wit and light touch of Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Slevin are pretty similar to one another, it's just one is high class slick and one is New York City gangster grimy.

Dan

Crazy list. Almost every single movie on this poll deserves watching.

Brandon

I think there's a great moment in The Irishman for an intermission, right before the sequence where a certain character is released from prison. Sad to think that they probably didn't consider it because they knew most people would see it at home.

adv97

I hope Fargo the tv series makes it to the next poll

Tyler Foster

I personally don't like the uncovered versions and wish they were not a thing on any channel, but that is just my opinion.

Michael

It’s fine if other people like it but I hate, hate, HATE Equilibrium. It’s sooooo embarrassing.

Stephanie Bedworth

What's embarrassing about it? I'm not trying to get on your case or anything but I'm genuinely mystified at what you could mean.

Logan Nelson

So far as Christian Bale is concerned it's probably his weakest role, but I don't think it was his fault... The story is a bit convoluted and hard to follow but overall still better than most of the nonsense dropping today...

Logan Nelson

It's a great script though..

Logan Nelson

I don't even need the sequels... That first one is a dope indy flick...

Michael

Ok, I’ll be vague at the risk of spoilers: it’s comes across as if someone read two very well known and in no way obscure novels which are pillars of their genre and was like “I’m going to make it cooler and better” but not in a funny, isn’t-this-an-amusing-trash-curiosity kind of way but more like a oh-no-I’m-having-to-suffer-through-an-angsty-middle-schooler’s-screenplay kind of way.

Hugh Jass

Some random films requests Requiem for a Dream (2000) Layer Cake (2004) A Beautiful Mind (2001) Johnny English (2003)

Michael

My input for a future action/adventure/thriller is William Friedkin’s 1977 SORCERER. It’s criminally underseen and it’s goddamn insane.

Tyler Foster

Grindhouse is not on Prime Video. It is available on Blu-ray, although I recommend buying the Blu-ray used from an eBay seller where you can see the discs. The movie switched hands from TWC to Lionsgate when TWC shuttered, and Lionsgate shipped a bunch of copies of the Blu-ray with the individual movies inside instead of the "Grindhouse" double feature that combines both films into one program with the fake trailers and theater bumpers, which is how it was presented theatrically. Microsoft Store does seem to have the theatrical double feature of Grindhouse available for streaming in the US.

Austin P

Last of the Mohicans has one of the best scores ever composed and has huge emotional payoffs. Sticks the landing so well. Count of Monte Cristo is fantastic as well.

Tyler Foster

I've commented several times on this poll, but as I hope they have as much information as possible, there are only "two" versions to worry about. Grindhouse is the name of the complete double feature with fake bumpers and trailers. Planet Terror and/or Death Proof are the films on their own, and they are both presented "extended and unrated" compared to versions used for Grindhouse. There is an alternate version of Planet Terror included as a bonus feature on some releases, which is the "theatrical cut" used within Grindhouse, presented without the "print damage" used to make the Grindhouse experience more "authentic." There is no way to officially obtain or watch the "theatrical cut" of Death Proof outside of the complete Grindhouse presentation, or a version of the "theatrical cut" of Planet Terror with the print damage.

Tyler Foster

Also, just because I remember that you, like me, went out of your way to purchase a copy of Crank to watch the full length, I will repeat advice I've left elsewhere, which is that if George and Simone end up watching Grindhouse and you don't already own it on BD, a warning NOT to buy it new but used on eBay using a listing where you can see the discs in the photos attached. Lionsgate took over distribution of the Blu-ray when TWC folded, and they've been mistakenly selling copies that include the two individual unrated cuts instead of the correct two-disc set featuring Grindhouse on one disc and a bonus disc with a bunch of extras. Would hate for you to spend money and end up with the wrong thing!

Steve kephart

I can't believe Patriot Games is nearly last place. You guys seemed to really like Red October, so I know you guys will really enjoy the rest of the series. They are all incredibly well made political thrillers. Hopefully you guys can come back to them really soon even if it doesn't win a poll.

Steve kephart

I totally agree. I'd add The Sum Of All Fears as it too is a great movie. Popcorn in Bed just reacted to it and loved it. These movies seem to be right up Georges alley.

Steve kephart

Can you guys add Matchstick Men to your list of movies to watch. It is a true hidden gem, so it problably won't win a poll even though it deserves to. But it is a great example of competent people doing things competently as George likes.

Jeff I.

Would love for them to see Requiem for a Dream as well as A Beautiful Mind someday!

Adam

Agreed. I don't know why more reactors haven't done that series.

Lionbarber

Count of Monte Cristo is part of Hollywood's late 90's/early 00s fixation on swashbuckling literary classics. I will, however, push my anime glasses up with my dainty middle finger and point out that they massacre the story from the book, especially the ending, in the hopes of making a cooler, sexier film. The beginning with Richard Harris is pretty great and fairly true to the source material, though. Ok, I'm done.

Lionbarber

Prince of Thieves is part of a different 90s Hollywood trend to have American actors as leads in British Medieval stories with no attempt at a British accent, even though every other cast member is believably British. (See also Dragonheart, First Knight). Some memorable lines in that one, though, especially from Alan Rickman, RIP, and you gotta love Morgan Freeman

G P

Last of the Mohicans was one of the best films of the '90s, hope you guys check it out soon!

Pendergasted

I'm surprised Grindhouse is leading this poll. Don't know much about them. I guess we will soon. ;)

Com1xguy

All of these are pretty solid picks. Start with the winner and watch them all when you can fit them into the schedule

Helly R

Rickman steals the whole film.

Helly R

It's an at best 2nd rate Matrix knockoff.

Layan

Tyler Foster

great list of movies -- in addition to the ones you listed, I also want Hudsucker Proxy from the Coens

Tyler Foster

Even if people don't like Ben Affleck as Jack Ryan, I am mystified as to why Sum is so underrated as it is the only other movie modeled on the tactical suspense approach of Hunt For Red October.

Tyler Foster

I know unlike Nosferatu, Sorcerer is not new and buzzy and hip, but I imagine a double feature like Nosferatu or Road House where they watch the original The Wages of Fear and then Sorcerer.

streaky

It's wild how much the reaction community has ignored Three Billboards - not sure if it's just because everybody has seen it, but - when you consider some of them claim not to have seen stuff like Alien it'd be a bit weird if they had..

Jenny MacRunnel

Patriot Games is one of my favorite movies. I can't think of another movie like it, its really high stakes and its really not a traditional action. There's a lot of politics and terrorism, and really captures the mood of that time.

maikeru

Do you mean the somewhat stereotipical depiction of the young black character? I don‘t remember all scenes with him let alone all lines, so I don‘t know what you‘re referring to.

Tyler Foster

Maybe I was confused. Maybe it was you who ordered the German BD. I got the German 4K which also has that cut.

Brandon Meng

I absolutely love Count of Monte Cristo and I know Equilibrium has an insane cult following but I'm ECSTATIC if the Grindhouse double feature wins. Must be seen as originally intended, back to back and WITH THE IN-BETWEEN TRAILERS!!!

Brandon Meng

What. A. List. +1 to the following: Manchester by the Sea About Time Walk Hard Walter Mitty The Holdovers Wes Anderson movies Almost Famous Three Billboards Succession And same with Fargo S1 and S2 Most of these I recommend on my own most of the time, awesome to see others making the same recs, especially with Manchester by the Sea, The Holdovers, and Three Billboards.

Brandon

IMO every single season of Fargo is great. Even if season 3-4 are slightly weaker, it's more than worth it to get to season 5.

maikeru

I‘ve been recomending A Beautiful Mind (and The Hours) for two years, then I kinda gave up last year. It was never on a poll as far as I can remember. Every now and then I recommend those two films still.

RichieRich

Action suggestion is The Last Boyscout (1991) starring Bruce Willis and directed by Tony Scott

maikeru

It‘s a good anti fascism movie

Felreign

Wait and hope

maikeru

👏 100%

Michael Buhl

Absolutely yes for Miller's Crossing!

MacGuffinStuff

Aw man, Last of the Mohicans isn't doing as well as I hoped, but I abide by the decision of the patrons. Even though it's pretty badass, that last ten minutes is incredible, almost no words, pure action and drama, music is epic as well.

adv97

Yeah Seems like the cinebinge community in general aren’t big fans of the show unfortunately

Matrim

Kinda surprised Grindhouse is doing so well. While Planet Terror seems to be pretty well regarded, I can’t recall more than a handful of people saying anything good about Deathproof.

Drew

Hi there, internet stranger! I enjoy Deathproof. So I’m 1 I guess

Drew

And an all-time musical score **edited to oop, just noticed you did in fact mention the music

Drew

Unfortunately we only get the one Event Horizon, for the deleted scenes are lost

OldBeardedGuyReacts

I would LOVE to see them do a reaction to Iron Claw...but unfortunately they won't do anything A24.

Mike FromOz

Deathproof is by far my favourite of the two. The stunts in it are just amazing.

Mike FromOz

I would absolutely love for them to react to Miller's Crossing. It's my favourite Coen Brother's film.

Pam Nail

Make that 3. DP is definitely my favorite of the two.

Philipp Roensch

Great stuff all around, happy to see any :D

Dwight Scarn

Planet terror was great! Death proof had its moments.

Seth's Coffee Cup Ambush

Clear and Present Danger is probably the better of the Harrison Ford Jack Ryan Movies. Great action set pieces. Great cast. You'll likely get more out of it if you watch Patriot Games first but it's not absolutely necessary IMO. Keeping with action/action-adjacent movies, please continue on with the Man With No Name/Dollars trilogy - For A Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good The Bad And The Ugly(1966). They only get better. Some other great action movies: Where Eagles Dare (1968) The Guns of Navarone (1961) Ronin (1998)Enter the Dragon (1973) The Way of the Dragon (1972) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)

Darin Foat

Brotherhood of the Wolf is definitely the best French Kung-Fu werewolf movie I've ever seen.

2026-09-05 05:00 I don't have a problem with any of these. They are all very watchable, even Robin Hood - although not for the eponymous character, but for Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in another scene-stealing performance.

Requiem for a dream won a poll like 5-6 months ago but for some reason they’re not keen on watching it unfortunately

Cinebinge

Hi Low Post, which poll did it win at? We would absolutely watch it if it did win, but I dont recall that happening and we would never purposely ignore the winner.

Stephanie Bedworth

For me, the last thirty minutes of Deathproof made sitting through the rest of it almost worth it.

Adam

I would include the most recent season of Fargo, as well. I'd rank the seasons 2, 1, 5, then a drop off to 3 and 4. Note to George and Simone, all the seasons are standalone.

Adam

How do you know that? Was it on a poll once?

Tyler Foster

I think Death Proof is straight up one of Tarantino's most exhilarating movies and I can't wait to see their reaction to it. Planet Terror is fun too, but Death Proof is the real winner IMO.

Tyler Foster

Especially if it gets us closer to The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996).

Tyler Foster

Personally I think all four Body Snatchers variants are worth watching: the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), the aforementioned Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Abel Ferrara's Body Snatchers (1992), and the tepidly-received The Invasion (2007). Even though the last one got middling reviews, I found it pretty interesting, as it is the one of the four that most alters the story to fit a contemporaneous viewpoint of society (even if the filmmakers might have altered some of the story if they'd have been able to predict COVID).

Tyler Foster

@OldBeardedGuyReacts I believe the A24 situation was resolved and they are now again willing to consider A24 in the future.

Tyler Foster

Good movie. Very good Nicolas Cage performance. Another movie that I would put in the same category is Duplicity, by "Andor" creator Tony Gilroy.

Tyler Foster

It was worth it too, IMO. Great reaction and the 4K looked awesome. Now I have a combo pack with both cuts of the film as well.

adv97

The fact that it’s never been on a poll isn’t reassuring is it?

Actuarial Lurker

None of these should be an option- although I voted for Patriot Games as the better of these

Adam K

Man I do love Cinebinge but I keep lowering my membership tier - the movie selection can be just too eccentric for me

etjzetjezerikrk

Never heard of any of these movies. Are they running out or what

Tales From The Underside .com

Last of Mohicans is the best film by far on this list and most lists. Don’t miss it! A must see!

Layan

Yes, it’s a great movie and so underrated

Mike FromOz

I agree. I hope it becomes a "Death of Stalin" type situation where they include it based on community feedback about how good it is.

erosennin

Equilibrium lets gooo

sarCC

Kevin Costner is so incredibly miscast in that movie. It's really wild the movie was as successful and fondly remembered as it is.

sarCC

QT stans love Deathproof. It's terribly written and acted, supposedly on-purpose (though Kurt Russell and Rose McGowan are the two exceptions, in the one interesting dialogue scene). I think most people only remember the last few minutes of it. Planet Terror is a lot of fun, though.

sarCC

And Crimson Tide!

sarCC

Hacks rules. One of the best comedy shows still on the air.

Vellu

At least they have already seen the Robin Hood who can speak with an English accent.

adv97

I assumed it would have been watched since it was in the top 3, but that’s my bad. Hopefully you’ll are able to get to it at some point.

Kelly Pickard

A few suggestions: • Ladyhawke (1985) • Dragonheart (1996) • Electric Dreams (1984) • A Simple Plan (1998) • The Artist (2011) • Wild Things (1998) • The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) • The African Queen (1951)

Brandon

Seconding Hook! Such a classic!

Old School Drew

Future considerations: Used cars (1980) and The Hitcher (1986)

Kenzie

footloose (1986) LA Story (1990) Chronicles of Riddick

MacGuffinStuff

Did I forget to mention the cinematography on The Last Of The Mohicans? 😆

Drew

The whole point of the planet terror project was an homage to bad 70’s b-movies though? It’s exactly in line with that

MacGuffinStuff

While we're at suggestions, once again I feel compelled to recommend "THE SHIPPING NEWS". Kevin Spacey before he was creepy, or we knew anyway, but he's a whole character in this. Julianne Moore is, well she is ❤️ It's a great little Newfoundland story anyway.

Jay Davis

I looked right at Mohicans and I said, I said to it, "You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will vote for you! No matter how long it takes, no matter how far. I will vote for you!" S'what I said.

Jay Davis

Always with the negative waves, Moriarty, always with the negative waves.

Charles Clover

But have you Named All of the Trivia? (One day 😶‍🌫️)

John_rd

Oh no Robin Hood did well. It's so bad. Guess I'm in the minority though.

John_rd

The Artist and liberty Valance are fantastic.
