Ooh next week is going to be great! I've not seen "Sinner's", but I am excited to check it out!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Voyage Home is wonderful. Sinners is awesome too! Great week ahead of movies and TV

probablyKoi

Sinners is amazing and you’re going to love it. One of the best films I’ve seen in a long time!

cincassette

WHAT A WEEK! Just to confirm, did you guys end up doing the 3h11m version of Grindhouse?

Mike FromOz

Just to check, G&S, are you watching "Planet Terror" and "Deathproof" individually, or as the combined feature "Grindhouse"? It will make a difference as to which one(s) we need to source. Cheers!

Major Peril

The Voyage Home is a fun one and Goldfinger, my second favorite Connery Bond flick! Looking forward to this.

mcfierce24

Chase Lonnergan

Cool. Half of Grindhouse, Goldfinger, and Voyage Home! Good week.

John

This is a fantastic week, I’m particularly excited about Star Trek, Goldfinger and Sinners. If it was intentional releasing Sinners on Juneteenth then chef’s kiss. Juneteenth is a holiday in the US

jmundt33a

Solid all the way down.

Ben Stevens

Ok I'll stay another month. I've been waiting for more from amateur podiatrist Quentin Tarantino, but the sleeper pick for us patrons this week is really Sinners! Bond and Trek too, you guys spoil us over here <3 k bye, cinebitch (never) leaving

Helly R

*crushes golf ball*

Scott CineRam

OH MY GOD what a week this is gonna be!!! Grindhouse??? The WHOLE FRICKIN THING?!?!? And Sinners THIS SOON??? Incredible!!!!!!

T0b1maru

Can't wait for the best Star Trek film.

Awesome80s

Goldfinger ? You expect me to talk ?

Kyle Baker

Okay this is a sick lineup!

sarCC

The Voyage Home AND Sinners?! Spectacular week, just including for those two.

Dwight Scarn

Sinners!! How bout Interview with the Vampire amc tv series next ;)

Darth Millennial

Movie recommended for Simone & George. Christopher Nolan directed movie INSOMNIA (2002) Staring Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hillary Swank. It's a slept on neo-nior psychologic thriller and it's unique to see Robin Williams in a serious dramatic role.

Ginger

My favorite Star Trek AND favorite Bond film in one week? You're spoiling me! :D <3

Jasbro

This could potentially be the best week in a long time (for me), Sinners, Star Trek 4 and Deathproof all in the same week, oh boy.

Spacedone

Now THAT'S a great week.

FranciscoGios

I've heard that Sinners is pretty good! So would be the h first to see it with you guys!

John M.

Man, I'd spend the night at a drive-in for this lineup.

Garrett Mazzuca

Excellent series. Adding my +1 to that recommendation.

Jeff K.

Boy oh boy do I hope you guys are going into Sinners as blind as possible. I mean, with regard to what it's about, not in terms of your eyesight. Because being actually blind could make it tough to react to the film.

Jeff K.

I was like, "There's no way this movie can possibly live up to all of the hype" and I'm happy to report, it actually EXCEEDED the hype for me.

maikeru

THX 1138 (1971)

Jeff K.

It's SO GOOD. The music is amazing. And if you don't know what the movie is about, do not look it up, do not watch trailers (if you haven't already), etc. That's a movie I wish I had gone into blind.

WalrusWallace

Sinners plus Grindhouse!! Woohoo! Nice!

Brandon

Stacked.

Jeff K.

And holy shit the music. I cannot say enough about how good the music is throughout. Some of the best musical setpieces I've ever seen in a movie that wasn't actually a musical.

probablyKoi

honestly I still regularly listen to the two Irish songs as well, they’re beautiful even though it’s a vibe shift

Jeff K.

Oh yeah, the big Irish music setpiece (Rocky Road to Dublin) is one of the most memorable parts of the film for me. I have watched that scene on its own like a dozen times since watching the movie a couple weeks ago.

Jeff K.

"No, Mr. Akca. I expect you to like and subscribe!"

Jeff K.

Oh that's a great call on Sinners being on Juneteenth. If it's intentional, that's perfect. If it's not (I honestly don't know how familiar Canadians are with Juneteenth), it's a heck of a perfect coincidence.

Mandi

I am soooo excited for Goldfinger!!

davidov

Gooooollldfinger! I'm even looking out for the first well known Bond song! :D

Jeff K.

I'm not a huge fan of Insomnia or One Our Photo, personally, but I'd be super curious to see George and Simone do a double feature with them for a very different Robin Williams than they're used to.

Jonathan Eaton

Suggestion: I love you Phillip Morris (2009) Ewan McGregor, Jim Carrey

Jeff K.

And Smoked. (IYKYK)

BoredLittleLady

I guess I’m watching Sinners for the first time.

Mr. Writhms

Please put "The Accountant" (2016) on your list. The sequel just recently released, better than the first.

Steven Cavanagh

I always recommend Amazon's Video Game anthology Series Secret Level. Episodes include. D&D, Space Marine 2, & Mega Man, to name 3.

ColeVonCole

I'm intrigued to see your reaction to Sinners cause I went and saw it in theaters and went in blind and didn't like the movie much at all, but so many people love it

ColeVonCole

I did go into it blind and didn't like it lol personally I thought it was kinda dumb. Wouldn't have even watched it if I didn't go into it blind actually

cincassette

I'm on a similar boat. I also went in blind, and left the cinema very conflicted. I felt It was very tonally inconsistent, with messy editing and pacing, but I did enjoy a lot of individual elements of it, particularly the music. I think I have a better idea of the type of movie it is trying to be now, and am excited to rewatch it with fresh eyes.

Jim Johnson

Sinners followed by Grindhouse is gonna be great

Ron

Looks like a banger week!

Kevin

Watch This Is 40! Underrated comedy

Tyler Foster

I feel pretty confident they are going to watch the complete "Grindhouse" cut and not the two unrated cuts put together. Even though they didn't respond to the comments, so many people mentioned it, I feel pretty good about it.

Tyler Foster

I don't mind the 2002 film, but the original Norwegian Insomnia from 1997 is, IMO, soooooooooooo much better than Nolan's American remake, largely thanks to Stellan Skarsgard's truly haunting performance in the lead role. In the end, I wish the American movie had changed more of the story to fit the changes they made to Pacino's character and the tone of the film, because the frustrating part as a fan of the original is that the remake recreates so many of the same beats and scenes it becomes harder to take it on its own terms; if they diverged more it would be easier to forget about the original. That said, I also think Insomnia is very interesting within Nolan's career because it is the one film that diverges from his usual sense of precision. Because the film is about insomnia, Nolan is forced to find directorial techniques that are the opposite of the kind of clinical, almost mathematical approach he usually favors.

Tyler Foster

Actually, reading the rest of the comments, they confirm in a reply they have the 3h11m cut.

Mandi

No, Mr Awesome80s, I expect you to… watch S&G talk watching Goldfinger!

Raven Dark

Did I miss the post for Drive? I was checking to see what's coming for tomorrow, and it looks like last week's "Next Week on" post has Drive set for the 13'th. Am I reading that wrong?

Cinebinge

oh i just got the date wrong last week. its better to go by the day of the week than calendar dates. Drive, which was a poll winner, will be on Saturday as all poll winners are.

Raven Dark

Yeah, ignore me, lol! I saw in the comments that the date is wrong. I was just about to delete the comment when your reply showed up. Thanks.

Emily G

I love The Little Princess, it’s childhood favorite of mine. I used to watch that all the time growing up. You should tell her to check out The Secret Garden (1993) it’s also a great one.

Bookwormy

gold fiiinnngaaaah

nossieboy

Bwaa Braahhhhh Brow!

Kron0n

New suggestion. Pi (1998). Darren Aronofsky's first movie. I just remembered it watching From Russia with Love. Don't ask me how that connects :D But it's a really interesting movie. Think you'd both enjoy it... it's a movie that leaves you with some deep questions.

Jared Winn

I made a special trip to see Sinners in theaters. So so good. Can’t wait to watch again. 🎶I Lied To Yoooooou🎵

jay

Man, I wanna watch Sinners with you guys so bad but I’m holding out until the 4K gets released so I can experience it for the first time in as close to the proper AR as possible 🙁 Sick lineup though!

Lachlan Caldwell

There are some sequels I'd really like to see you do; Wreck-it-Ralph 2: Ralph breaks the Internet, and Jumanji: The Next Level.

Alexander C Chalk

I bet you get a lot of requests but I'd like to throw the TV show Archer into you backlog. Love your guy's reactions

Logan Nelson

Lets get that Cube or Primer reaction on the books!!!!

Jay Davis

I think others have said and I agree that, while II is generally considered the "best" of these, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is my favorite of them.

Mike FromOz

I look forward to either being completely elated, or let down terribly. Either way, it's going to be interesting!

Pete Luhtaniemi

I'd love to see Machete I and II reactions, and why not, BadAss too.

Jeff K.

I just remembered that one of my math teachers showed us that movie in high school. In retrospect, that was a very interesting choice on his part.

ScottishSammo

Amazing, I was going to watch sinners but now I'll wait for the reaction 😁

Matt O'Keefe

The Voyage Home might not be tbe best Star Trek movie but it is the most fun.

Tyler

Seeing Grindhouse in theaters was a trip. The mock trailers before the feature were especially memorable.

BoredLittleLady

I don’t think I imagined it but I think I heard George tell Simone in a recent video that she should watch Black Panther 2. So, I’m recommending it (just in case it was in my imagination) haha.

MacGuffinStuff

Awww, this is gonna be fun! What a week. And I still haven't seen Sinners, but shit, I think it's like 20 bucks to rent and I'm in some crazy financial bullshit right now, long story, looks like I'm gonna have to wait on that one for a while. Argh

Herby Ragan

This is going to be a fun week. I'm especially excited about "Sinners" Saw it in theater 3 times. Best film I've seen this year, and I don't think any film will too it.
