Elroy

Excited for superman never seen the Christopher reeves one, hopefully you guys watch the new one when it drops!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Superman is wonderful as is the late great Christopher Reeve and that score. Keen for Close Encounters too! And yeah just gotta say that the timing of “…Space” is a highlight of the week now haha

Matthew Richson

Still waiting and hoping they do Madagascar 3…

The trailer for "28 Years Later" is a stroke of genius! To date The only TRAILER I've looked up reactions to! ... (ah yes, and the movie is also very enjoyable! :). I get the divisiveness though.

FranciscoGios

28 Years Later has I believe a strong massage be prepared.

Cory Garron

A week in which im looking forward to everything.

Daniel Smith

Guessing that sound bite is going to make an appearance at some point in the future?…

Jasbro

That is kind of a crazy week, all my favorite things, Star Wars/Star Trek/Superman/Classic Scifi movie and a horror movie to top it off, i didnt even realise 28 Years later was already out on digital, feels like it just came out at the cinema.

I cannot wait to join you two on Superman! I was eight years old when my mother took me to see the first Superman movie in the theater, and it is one of my most cherished movie memories, or memories in general. We had such a good time, and I was just in awe the whole movie. Despite how dated a lot of it is, I think it still holds up well today, and Christopher Reeves (RIP) will always be the best Superman in my book (though Henry Cavill is a very close second). This movie is also when I started my love of Gene Hackman (RIP). That man always brought 120% to ever part he played. What an amazing actor.

I find it funny how quickly movies come to streaming these days, because back when VHS was the media of choice, people would always joke about "if you don't want to see it in the theater, just wait a year and it will be on VHS." Then when DVD was the main media it was "if you don't want to see it in the theater, just wait a few months and it will be on DVD." Now it seems to be "if you don't want to see it in the theater, just go home and stream it." LOL!!

KyloJames

28 Years Later is gonna confuse tf out of Simone when she’s scared one minute and crying the next 😂

Jay Davis

Close Encounters been a long time comin' Glad it's finally... arriving. Nice to see a piece of my childhood with THE Superman too. Gonna be a good week.

ktown64

Wow, two back-to-back 1970s blockbusters, both with amazing John Williams soundtracks.

Garrett Mazzuca

Loved 28 Years Later! Really looking forward to that one.

s0rd3z

That's a really good week. I enjoyed Andor more than I thought I would. I can't remember if I have seen 28 weeks later, need to refresh on that.

FWPJR.

I can’t wait for the Close Encounters of the Third kind reaction, been waiting awhile for that reaction to happen.

JoshG

Hope you guys check out the Christopher reeves documentary at some point. It’s really good

Mike Kay

Saw this as a younger kid for the first time with my Mom. It really was my first major movie experience and it was AMAZING. I'll never forget the feelings I had when the helicopter scene took place. Edge of my seat...memories with my mom that last forever.

Mike Kay

yeah! classic.

Mike Kay

Good call. His scores made soooo many great movies masterpieces with his flair for understanding how it fits with emotions and drama.

WastedPo

To repeat myself from the previous post: For CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, please do the DIRECTOR'S CUT. (As a second choice, Theatrical version is okay.) The slashfilm article I read said that the "Special Edition" is the one to avoid. It cuts out a pretty important sequence in the movie, while including "bonus footage" that a lot of people (myself included) think makes the movie worse.

sarCC

Wow, what a spectacular first three days; what a special week.

Tyler Foster

By the time these go up they've already watched the movies. I did DM them about the different cuts of this movie a few days ago but did not receive a response, so we'll see what they went with.

lalaland

incorrect. they answered last week, by the time its on these posts, theyve already watched it EXCEPT for the poll winner. which is done on the monday right after.

Brent bmc_comix

So excited for Superman!!! Had to resub!!!!

Ste Rawlings

Love that you guys are checking out releases from this year like Sinners and 28 years later as they come out. Bring Her Back, and The Ballad of Wallis Island are 2 other fantastic films from this year that I think both of you would like a lot.

Jay

I just saw Weapons, Cregger is the fucking man! Get Barbarian on the watchlist for a warm-up:)

Khan1001

Yes, Barbarian is great! I was gonna watch Weapons tomorrow but might hold off and watch it with you guys!

Khan1001

I cant believe they have watched Man Of Steel but haven't seen this yet! Superman is the first film I remember seeing as a kid and its still my favourite, I liked Henry Cavill's Superman and I thought David Corenswet did a decent job recently but no one will ever beat Christopher Reeve he was born to be Superman both on screen and in real life, they have to watch Super/Man: The Chris Reeve Doc after this, its a tough watch but everyone should watch it.

Jesse Coombs

Here's where I recommend stuff that's a little more theatrical, but also really awesome. First would be "Derek DelGaudio's In & Of Itself". It's on Hulu and brought me to tears. Second would be Bo Burnham's Inside, the most poignant piece about the pandemic and loneliness. Finally, Hamilton, which is a rallying cry against tyranny, although a little ham-fisted. I Still love it it though.

Korpse

Maggie, Cop land and Demon knight 🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥

sarCC

Bring Her Back is incredible. Best straight-up horror movie this year, for me.

squarebrain

Would love for you to see "In The Mouth Of Madness". Great Horror-Movie🤯 Greetings from Germany

sarCC

I agree with the Barbarian recommendation, wholeheartedly. I hope the writer-director reaches that level of greatness again in later movies.

JayF

Looking forward to seeing Simone crush on Christopher Reeve. :)

Matthew Wabals

If I don’t see George dressed as Miss Tess Mocker I’m gonna be pissed

ChristianK

SUPERMAN!!! Hopefully you guys do a run of Superman movies soon for the digital release of the new one on the 26th. If I may suggest the ones to watch: - Superman the movie - Superman 2 - Man of Steel (ik it would be a rewatch for you guys but still worth it) - Batman v Superman And to finish it off I’d say watch the Christopher Reeves Documentary Super/Man 🥹❤️

Jose Robles

or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Brent bmc_comix

Really hope they check out the newest one when it comes out! As a comic fan, its the first real Superman movie we've had since the original!!!
