Devil's Advocate... who doesn't love Al Pacino chewing scenery? 😍

Emily G

I’d also like to suggest Practical Magic (1998) for a future watch please.

The Gunslinger

You should cover Atlantis The Lost Empire.

beecroft adams

I liked Quiz show, almost famous, thinker tailor, Gosford park, bandits and rob Roy.

theycallmekev

Manchester by the Sea is a masterpiece that will destroy you.

Parabolica

It’s such a solid, tight film and would be a great way to honor Graham Greene who passed away this last week.

Thexx

"Nobody wins them all" ;)

Mastervodo

There was a time The Color Purple was in my top 5 of all time.

Taterology

You missed Drowning Mona. Good list though.

TheLeftPecOfTheLord

Woah this is a stacked poll, Devils Advocate, steel magnolias, colour purple and three billboards are all incredible!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Oh I did see that 😣 Terrific actor with so many great roles under his belt. Rest in peace

Rayna Storie

I would second run away jury

Bonny T

Steel Magnolias! 💖

Dre2up

A lot of good choices on this one!

beecroft adams

Alice in wonderland, Margin call, in the line of fire, being john malkovich, the great escape, three kings, hell or high water, Barton fink, Thomas crown affair, lars and the real girl, wonka, first man, Cinderella man, a beautiful mind and inside man.

Mike FromOz

The Remains of the Day is so wonderful and heartfelt.

Ricardo Alanis

I hope Scent of a Woman comes up soon as we get closer to Thanksgiving. One of Pacino’s best.

Zack Gallardo

I think they would like CCOBB. Such a lovely film.

Fox

Please add. Session 9, Tyranasaur.

Adam K

Bunch of real world tear jerkers guaranteed to make you cry….and Devil’s Advocate

Lars G

I voted for Manchester by the Sea because I feel like fucking up my weekend.

FranciscoGios

If you guys add The 13th Warrior to your polls I'm well set.

Freddy Cougar

It really is a "Oh, you're having a good day? Well, watch this..." movie.

JoeE

Would also recommend dog day afternoon, anatomy of a murder, heavenly creatures

DemNikoArt

That's a great list! Speaking of Drama ;) - The machinist!!!! - Prisoners!!! - Panic Room - One hour photo - Identity - The secret life of Walter Mitty - 127 hours - Nightwatch - Jarhead

jmundt33a

Title fight!!! Round 20.

jmundt33a

A Time to Kill is awesome.

paul rai

So many incredible options. Really rooting for Manchester by the Sea, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the Color Purple, and Three Billboards! All amazing films featuring actors at the top of their games. Definitely bring the tissues box for some of these.

paul rai

One major recommendation of a recent release and it’ll be out on digital tomorrow: Weapons (2025). It’s a phenomenal horror thriller that takes some twists and turns and you may end up having a (surprisingly) entertaining experience. Maybe it’s a new movie to watch for October Halloween season!

mojo shivers

I love Manchester by the Sea. The writing and the acting in it are superb. I still remember how much I loved all the dramatic conversations in it. But, man, is it ever a gut punch to the soul.

Maarten Martens

I don't think so, I've watched quite a few reactors doing Dexter, so who knows. The first 4 seasons are incredible, but I like S5 and S7 as well. No spoilers of course.

Ste Rawlings

The Devil's Advocate is entertaining as hell but belongs on Cinecringe tbf

Maarten Martens

Devil's Advocate is quite something, it will definitely evoke some reaction. Some very memorable images.

Richard Burrell

Manchester by the Sea for Simone’s reaction alone. It’s an amazingly written movie as well

Maarten Martens

Yeah I watched it once, but this might be the 2nd time. Interesting to see if my imagination changed things. Great performances all around in any case.

XeonAlpha

I’m so sad it won’t win. It just makes me wanna “hit something!” “Here, hit Ouiser….” 🤣

XeonAlpha

I love that movie more than my luggage…

Henry Sanchez

They need to watch barbarian first

Senec

Aah, men of culture, we meet again!

paul rai

Would definitely recommend Barbarian as well. I figured since Weapons is a new release that may help sway them to consider.

The Unknown Cinephile

The demon effects in Devils Advocate scared the piss out of me as a kid, and they still do to this day, Al Pachinos Monologue at the end is fantastic

JayF

This is a rare one where I have to vote for the newest movie. Wind River is an incredible movie AND Graham Greene who just passed away is in it. It looks like it's not going to win so hopefully you two choose to react to it on your own. Edit - Just in case you are wondering, yes Graham Greene plays a significant enough role for it to be considered a tribute reaction.

Kat and Kaizo

I voted for the one I want to win.

Smooticus

Some sadly overlooked dramas (that actually won awards for acting, directing, picture, etc, or were just really damn good) The Mission (1986) Paris, Texas (1984) The Verdict ((1982) Absence of Malice (1981) The Sand Pebbles (1966) Three Days of the Condor (1975) Under Fire (1983) Body Heat (1981) Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) Gallipoli (1981) The Year of Living Dangerously (1982)

Chris Thompson

Devils Advocate in the lead?? I’m surprised anyone remembers it. Outside of Pacino’s usual theatrics, it’s something I saw on release, enjoyed enough and promptly shrugged away into the annals of Keanu’s Krazy Kareer. Now Wind River and Manchester by the Sea are two very memorable 2000s classics that definitely deserve more attention.

Adam

I like Keanu, but his performance in The Devil's Advocate is... let's just say rough. I'm surprised Dog Day Afternoon and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest still haven't made an appearance. Two all time classics.

Paul Mix

Recommending Thelma and Louise.

Bonny T

You know I love her more than my luggage!

Jef Etters

Oh man Manchester by the Sea is heartbreaking but it has INCREDIBLE acting. Please, please, please get to it at some point.

Paul Mix

+1 to Session 9… exquisitely creepy atmosphere.

Adam

It's weird, if you just read the comments, you'd think Manchester by the Sea would be winning, but somehow it's near last in the poll. It's heavy, but it got my vote.

Jason McCloud

Wind River is criminally underappreciated

Stephanie Bedworth

I remember barely getting through it. I’m shocked it’s got so many votes.

Cosmic Slice

How is The Color Purple losing this poll?? Such an incredibly powerful movie...a must watch movie.

Jeromy M

Holy Moly, I would give a Kidney to have Wind River done. Three Billboards is amazing too.

Jeromy M

Fantastic movie. Alongside Sicario and Hell or Highwater. Same writer I think.

Adam

💯

Mike FromOz

Is Devil's Advocate getting so many votes because it has name recognition? I can't think of a reason otherwise. Edit: Not hating on people's choices, choose as you will, just a little perplexed.

lalaland

i mean the only reason it needs is that other people like it more than you 🤷‍♂️ just subjective preferences.

Mike FromOz

I remember it coming out and it was roundly panned and sank like a stone pretty much. Just strange to see it have a hold after all these years, especially when there are newer ones which would be more easily remembered.

darkmoobs

Not saying Devil’ Advocate is a bad movie, but I would say that it’s the least “drama” on this list. Kind of an oddball choice compared to the rest of the movies on here. It’s much more horror than they might be expecting. Still a good movie though.

Ste Rawlings

I like him a lot as a person, but let's be honest, his performance in pretty much everything is rough.

Kim Jong-un

I will keep recommending The Intouchables (2011). A french drama.

Adam

I like him in other movies, but this one in particular is really bad

FWPJR.

I remember my parents watching Steel Magnolias when I was a kid back in the early 90’s, I don’t remember anything from it though because I was playing with whatever toys I had while they watched it. So I voted for it because of nostalgia lol

lalaland

what im curious about is why do you guys so insist on setting expectations for S&G instead of letting them find out and discover it themselves. you may not like it, but evidently thats not a universal standard, other people clearly do. so why not just let them decide for themselves, instead of telling them its bad or trying to convince them one way or another.

Jimazoid

I only know of Steel Magnolias and The Color Purple. So one of those got me vote. Both are great movies!

lalaland

why set any expectations for S&G instead of letting them find out and discover it themselves. you may not like it, but evidently thats not a universal standard, other people clearly do. so why not just let them decide for themselves, instead of telling them its bad or trying to convince them one way or another.

Danny Zimmermann

his list is great. You can watch any movie without being disappointed.

Adam Vialpando

I mean Steel Magnolias is almost a comedy as much as a drama. But I get what you're saying. Devil's Advocate is almost a thriller instead of a drama. I think why it's getting so many votes is because of Al Pacino's performance, because people definitely aren't voting for Keanu's.

darkmoobs

Yeah, that’s a good point about Steel Magnolias, same with Billbords. Hard to just find a straight 100% drama. Devil Advocate I would consider to be more of a genre flick than a hard hitting drama like The Color Purple and Manchester by Sea.

Stephanie Bedworth

How is that any different from saying a movie is good or a masterpiece? Both set expectations.

Mike FromOz

I don't think I have any chance of setting any kind of expectation for them. They go into the movies they watch very open minded. I am more wondering why a movie from 1997 holds as much sway as it does considering the reception of the day to it, and subsequently then on, when there are newer offers on the list which are much more likely to have been seen and remembered by the Cinebinge audience comparative to that one. Just surprising to me.

lalaland

because usually when people say they like something, they just say they like it and want S&G to discover the rest on their own. people who are fans of something dont tend to spoil or mention things in the story to others who hasnt seen it. People who dont like something, can at times go into specifics. "oh his actor" "oh that guys accent" "oh its not this kind of drama or that kind of plot".

Crytek

Idk if it's something you've talked about before whether or not you're interested in anime but I'd love to see some anime/animated series get added for future show polls. Just a few examples of what I mean: Attack on Titan, Death Note, or maybe some western animated shows like Invincible or Castlevania. All the same love the content and super appreciative of the reactions, I work 3rd shift so it's nice to get home in the morning right around the time you upload and watch along as I eat and settle home.

Chris Thompson

Devil’s Advocate isn’t a drama in the slightest. I mean sure you have a couple of tragic beats, but it’s all played to the rafters and any kind of dramatics come off as shrill, OTT melodrama if anything. But otherwise it’s John Grisham meets the devil. And neither is exactly home in the “drama” genre.

lalaland

hey Chris, you might not think it is and thats fine. but IMDB categorizes it as such and thats what S&G goes by on account of the fact that they havent seen the damn movie so they wouldnt know. and speaking of that... how about, NOT spoiling anything, or set any expectations? like them experience and decide for themselves. wanna give that a try? you wouldnt want someone else telling them spoilers and what to expect in a movie you want S&G to do would you?

Brian's Dog

Rode my bicycle to see any random movie which turned out to be Steel Magnolias in the theater when I was like 11. I was surrounded by older ladies packed in there. I liked it...

AC10

Ah crap ... I read that as Let us tell y'all about the Drama that happened to the poll and how we fixed it.... (It's just a poll...)

Zhivko Yakimov

I am with Mike that Devil's Advocate is not necessarily a masterpiece, though not a bad movie at all. The thing is, they don't make movies like this one any more - medium-level budget, a mix of big and up-and-coming actors, and a decent and entertaining script. Thus, it is probably worth having a look on that merit alone. I remember Steven Soderbergh lamenting how the modern movie industry is veering from extremely low-budget and mega budget productions, with nothing left in between. It is the product of extreme risk aversion, which is why we are getting so many remakes and sequels these days. I am not saying original cinema has disappeared, but it has become much rarer than the days of Devil's Advocate.

TheLeftPecOfTheLord

I think I’ve also noticed that a lot of Keanus older films got a massive reappraisal after the John Wick movies took off and Devils Advocate (being one of his better 90s performances) was taken along for the ride

Adam

Much Ado About Nothing deserves a shout-out. Imagine him doing Shakespeare. We watched it in English class my senior year and anytime he had a line, the entire class started laughing, including the teacher. With that said, I still like him in other roles and he also seems like a genuinely good guy.

Xavier Casanova

Diegesis recently did a reaction to Devil's Advocate on their bad movies channel. Just to let you know how "great" this movie is. So of course it's winning, lol.

Regina Lemoine

I can’t believe The Color Purple is losing the poll. I’m still salty that it lost to Out of Africa at the Oscars. It’s one of the greatest American novels ever written and the film is sheer perfection. I also love Steel Magnolias, but that’s a very different kind of film.

Dan Holmes

so glad manchester by the sea isn't even close, movie blows and i'm pretty sure people think it's great because the writer added some umms and uhs to the dialogue lol

Christina Bee

I'm glad (it appears) your audience isn't making you watch Manchester by The Sea lol

Regina Lemoine

Yes! Dog Day Afternoon is a phenomenal film. Pacino and Cazale reunited. It’s so, so good.

Stefan Daniw

More Comedies please the world has enough Drama

Morningstar

Love the curious case of Benjamin button💕

One Who Waits

Three good ones to chose from...

zona999

For next Sci Fi or horror polls I submit the fantastic yet criminally little seen, 'Under The Skin'(2013), starring Scarlett Johanssen.

Chris Thompson

Yes, Drama is in there, but as are “Legal thriller”, “Mystery”, “Fantasy”, and “Thriller”. So if you were to take all five genres together I would say the other four would put any dramatic qualities to the side as almost an afterthought, and as such the movie, according to the great IMDb, couldn’t possibly be categorised as a “Drama”. According to me it’s just a weird addition to a Drama poll, but whatever.

Jeff I.

Eh, they do comedies like half the time already it feels like.

Jeff I.

Anyone else like to guess which move is winning the poll before you click to vote on it and it shows you the results? I knew it would be Devil's Advocate because the older, more mainstream/popular movie tends to win. It's okay to be sure, but Wind River, Benjamin Button, and Manchester by the Sea are all better movies overall IMO. Hope they get around to those three someday!

D.A.V.E.

Peter Weirs "Witness" and "Mosquito Coast" with Harrison Ford would make good additions to the Drama list.

John Rose

I swear all I want to see is my favorite reactors do "The Color Purple" and judging by this poll I never will :-(

jmundt33a

Witness is very good.

jmundt33a

Quiz Show, Scent of a Woman, and Crimson Tide. Also, Fallen.

Cam

Devil’s Advocate? Really guys? It should be near the bottom of the list

Daniel Smith

I think 3 Billboards is the best film here, even if only new to George. No stinkers. Movie suggestion: Never let me go

D.A.V.E.

It's brilliant, but Mosquito Coast needs more love it's Harrison Ford's favourite (of his own) movies mine too.

Lou Gallucci

There are some definite bangers here, Benjamin button is the only one I probably wouldn't rewatch.

LeperMessiah117

Ah, Steel Magnolias. A quintessential mom film.

John Adams

I don’t particularly have a favourite here, so I gave The Color Purple my vote to try to help you in your quest

Alex Ch

I think Steel Magnolias is the most older/mainstream/popular movie here, but it probably doesn’t fit this Patreon’s demographic.

The boy who cried WTF

"Three Billboards" and "Color Purple" are great. Too bad they won't win.

Anamondaris

Wind River and Manchester by the Sea are two of my favorites!

Darren Boyle

it WOULD be fascinating to do a Grisham poll if only to see which would get most votes 🤷‍♂️

Alex Ch

I’d like to propose “Ready or Not,” a horror/thriller with comic elements. Seems October appropriate.

Chris Thompson

IMDb lists it as five different genres.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Looking forward to most of these, but hoping “Three Billboards” pulls though, we’ll see how the poll goes. For future Drama considerations: “Ragtime” “Awakenings” “Eve’s Bayou” “Revolutionary Road” “Five Easy Pieces” “Nashville” “The Florida Project”

Skip577

Manchester goes down again. How about this: I have no idea how many patreons Cinebinge has, but maybe if a Patreon makes it one or two years of consistent subscribing, they get to choose a movie on their anniversary. Like a birthday present. That way maybe Wind River and Manchester might actually show up before 2028. Just a thought.

sarCC

Feels wild, but I'm also going to vote for the one that's a supernatural thriller (just because it's nut and I do want to see your reactions). I might've already recommended it, but I think Hush will be a good stand-in for Mike Flanagan material as it doesn't seem like his TV series will be watched any time soon. It's a terrific play on the home invasion thriller.

lalaland

you can see in the polls that theres literally thousands of votes, so thats probably how many there are assuming everyone votes. and i can count at least hundred plus thats been here for years. sooo, yeah, likely not feasible.

Skip577

Thanks for killing the dream. Guess Keanu’s southern(?) accent is what we get this week. So be it.

sarCC

Crimson Tide is so great.

sarCC

I voted for it because it's perfect for Spooky Season

Jose Robles

all great movies, I hope The Curios Case of Benjamin button wins

maikeru

why? it´s not a bad film man

sarCC

I think watching Weapons first is a good idea, actually. It is by no means a bad film, but it disappointed because Barbarian is so much more effective, storytelling/structure-wise.

m0lika1 .

I need Steel Magnolias to have its day at some point 🥲

sarCC

Oddly enough, The Devil's Advocate FEELS like a Grisham adaptation.

lalaland

and one of them is Drama. its not that complicated

UncleGaGa1979

God, Manchester By the Sea is so incredibly depressing!!! Michelle Williams picks some depressing movies to star in: This one, Blue Valentine, Brokeback Mountain, Wendy and Lucy, Shutter Island and obviously the first two Venom movies.

lalaland

ah yes, because Diegesis is the fucking decider of taste and whats good in art. get real, films are subjective. people like different things.

Actuarial Lurker

Chose Manchester by the Sea and Devil's Advocate. If they haven't done Glengarry Glen Ross then they should do that since it has an all-star lineup and classic meme-worthy lines

Xavier Casanova

It's a specific example of a general consensus opinion that that movie is considered bad.

lalaland

oh i didnt know we're no longer doing the "let S&G decide if they like something for themselves" anymore. and instead we're just telling them what to like and what not to like instead. instead we're just using the opinions of a crappier channel thats nothing but a front for an OnlyFans account.

Farbod

So happy Devil's Advocate is winning. Good job everyone.

Chris Thompson

And you’re saying this based on what? You simping for Maple over on OF? How much does she charge a month?? But seriously, aside from some bouncy pics on Instagram, I’m pretty sure Diegesis isn’t a front for anything, other than Chad’s over-inflated ego.

Chris Thompson

Looking forward to their Spooky Season poll at the end of the month for the actual spooky season.

maikeru

Dexter wasn´t on the big show poll last month for whatever reason, neither was TWD

CommanderBrownCoat

A drama I've been meaning to recommend is The King's Speech

John Zelinka

Serious question: Does a horror film count as a drama?

Chris Thompson

That doesn’t mean it’s a Drama. It has dramatic elements, yes, but that does not make it a Drama film, especially when, in this case, the other four listed genres overwhelm those aforementioned elements. I agree - it’s not remotely complicated.

elias rinis

Scent of a Woman soon please!!!

funky weapon

It's not really a horror movie. more of a thriller.

BellaBlue

Solid choices...I don't like when 1 person has already seen a film only reason I didn't vote for 3 BB...I voted for MBTS even though I knew zero chance that would win... TDA is a good film so worthy..but was also the predictable winner so I was just hoping for an underdog.. (dumb of me I know).. no bad films on this list though

funky weapon

Devil's Advocate is awesome. Glad to see it's got a fighting chance. I'd like to recommend some movies for Spoopy Season: 1. Prince of Darkness - personally I think it's one of Carpenter's best. an awesome movie that starts at 100kph and just keeps going. 2. In the Mouth of Madness - the less you know the better. Sam Niell. Horror. John Carpenter. 3. Fallen - Denzel Washington thriller (with John Goodman). Like most on this wishlist, the less you know, the better

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

I’d say something like “Possession”, “Antichrist” & “Possum” are equal parts horror and drama. Movies like that lately get tagged with the term “elevated horror”, a term I personally loathe.

BellaBlue

Requests for your consideration: Wonderful young actresses division - Priscilla (2023) [Cailee Spaeny] - Civil War (2024) [Cailee Spaeny] - Heretic (2024) [Sophie Thatcher] - Companion (2025) [Sophie Thatcher] - The Whale (2022) [Sadie Sink] - Lisa Frankenstein (2024) [Kathryn Newton] - Abigail (2024) [Kathryn Newton]

Jay S

3 billboards is fantastic. Also recommend A Beautiful Mind

Boris Kopp

Gotta say, I'd be fine with all movies on this list. Really looking forward to Devil's Advocate if it stays on top.

Yaron Assa

Soooooo glad to see devil advocate at the top. Wonderful performance and story

Bookwormy

So happy to see Devil's Advocate in the lead! AmaZINNGGG. Even if it doesn't win, I hope you check it out on your own.

Kaushik Sethunath

Here's requesting 2015 Best Picture winner and black comedy, Birdman! For the filmmaking, performances and general vibe, I think it'll be right up George and Simone's alley, and would make for a great reaction. Would love to atleast see it in a poll soon!

James M

"Manchester by the Sea" is pretty remarkable. "Devils Advocate" doesn't seem like a real dramatic piece.

lalaland

i weep for you. how will you ever recover from this.

Adam

Speaking of Cailee Spaeny, Mare of Easttown would be great. The series creator's new show, Task, just debuted last night on Max and it looks really good, too.

Stephanie Bedworth

Every once in a while, I'll see him in a role that he fits very well in. Parenthood, I Love You to Death, and oddly enough, The Gift, are all ones that I thought he was good in.

G P

Do you read Sutter Cane??

Adam

I've been pushing hard for them to watch Parenthood. Pretty sure I recommended I Love You to Death, as well.

Actuarial Lurker

The Mission is fantastic....very heavy emotionally but great

warcrimes

Recently saw Devil's Advocate. It's about as mediocre as you can get.

Kyle B

Not compelled to vote for any of these unfortunately.

Logan Nelson

Guys... Just remember how they pick the movies for the polls... its like the top 4 requested and the bottom 3 requested... So we did this, not them....

Jeff K.

None of these are really my cup of tea, but I'm glad other folks will get a movie they enjoy with this reaction. I'll just go back and watch an older reaction from George and Simone in place of the winner since this poll just doesn't really do it for me, but I'm happy for the people who voted for the winner and I'm sure it'll be a terrific reaction!

Jeff I.

Yeah, I'd love to see them do A Beautiful Mind someday.

Johnnycharco

So disappointed that The Color Purple isn't a contender.

Seth's Coffee Cup Ambush

I think there is a lot of overlap between drama and horror. Same way there are horror comedies. In addition to those already mentioned, one that comes to mind is Dead Ringers which to me is drama first, horror second, but distinctly both.

Vinnero

IMO Devil's Advocate is kind of out of place, it is a supernatural thriller really

Thexx

+1 Fallen

Emily G

Bummed Steel Magnolias is losing.. I really hope you guys can get around to Practical Magic, Ever After, or Fried Green Tomatoes sometime in the future. It would be nice to see some more female lead movies.

Seth's Coffee Cup Ambush

Great movies in this list. I particularly would like to see Gallipoli and The Year of Living Dangerously. But then again it’s hard to go wrong with Peter Weir.

KnittingHaven

I would really like to see their reaction to Abigail

Jay

Dude Charlize Theron in Devils Advocate is worth the price of admission alone.

Rob Parry

It's pretty easy to guess which movie will win before you vote here, and I don't think it's because it tends to be the older, more mainstream/popular movie. Lots of polls here a newer movie will win. I think Devil's Advocate won because it's the most guy centric movie on the list that the subscribers are most familiar with. My display name says it all. I also guessed what second place would be. I'm pretty much 90 -95 % correct ever week. It ain't hard. I wish I could find a way to bet on it. I could retire! I could also win a bet on the once a year or so when they have a rom com poll and guess how many guys post they don't like rom coms in the comments of the poll.

Blqbrd

Apocalypto is coming next next week I can feel it in my in my

Jeff K.

Unrelated to anything on this list but hey, Simone! Just read that Lego has announced that they're partnering with Star Trek for some new sets, including TNG (they're using a Picard Lego figurine to promote this new collab)!

Ronny Boss

I think you fine folks would enjoy the 1985 film Legnd starring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry

Martin

It’s a shame Three Billboards is doing so poorly in this poll. It’s a terrific movie by Martin McDonagh, the same director from In Bruges and The Banshees of Inisherin. Dark humor and a lot of heart. And I’ll keep beating this drum: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. This would have been the ideal poll to slot it in.

John

Fallen is great

Xavier Casanova

It's really not that big of a deal, dude.

Xavier Casanova

It's good but you gotta be in the right mood to watch it. It's a heavy film.

Jayson Phillips

You guys need to react to Unknown number on Netflix! WoW!

Lionbarber

Jesse James is a seriously underrated film.

HeyHeyJK

Man, I wish “Banshees of Inishirin” had been on this poll so you could see the “In Bruges” reunion of dream team Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleason, with writer/director Martin McDonagh in tow. Oh well. There goes that dream then. 😞

Morion Williams

Queen of the damned (Ann Rice Vampire) Repo the Genetic Opera (Gothic Musical) God Bless America (funny thought provoking, better than falling down) Sonic ( Sonic, Obviously) 10 Thing I hate about you (Obvious, said you guys where going to) I now pronounce you chuck and Larry (death by laughter) Animatrix (Really cool animated sci-fi) A.I. Artificial Intelligence (Cool and sad Sci-fi) IQ (Awesome Romcom) Mighty Ducks (Feel good sports comedy) A score to settle (Good Nicolas Cage Action) Real Steel (Feel good family action comedy) Stewart Little (Jonathon Lipnicki, Michael J Fox) The Little Vampire (Jonathon Lipnicki)

Random Nevermind

Two dramas that are nice: Mr. Nobody 2009 The Painted Veil 2006

MacGuffinStuff

Color Purple will never win a poll. I could speculate as to why but there no point to that. Nevertheless, I hope you watch it sometime, even if not for the content. 💜

Smooticus

I forgot to add Witness to the list

Ian Hunt

Prisoners by Denis Villeneuve would be a good shout at some point, I don’t think you’ve done that yet?

Jeff K.

Oh, I've seen Devil's Advocate. Not a fan. But I hope the folks who are excited about it get a great reaction.

lalaland

they go by what IMDB says because they havent seen the movies so they wont know. and it categorizes it as so.

Pepijn Schmitz

Interesting. Looking forward to the result.

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

WIND RIVER is fantastic. Hopefully it running third means it will be watched soon. This week's recommendations: THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS LEGENDS OF THE FALL

BellaBlue

Yes...I find it a bit underrated...I enjoy a good B movie that knows it is a B movie and is just ridiculous fun

BellaBlue

Agreed w MoE. I'll have to check out Task. I'm trying to catch up on my tv streaming.

Torgosaves

Hope you do watch the Color Purple at some point.

Kevin Ehle

Yes, this should be an easy poll. Ive seen all but one of these movies. Wind River is far above the rest.

M.C.G

Those are all wonderful movies, but I think Fried Green Tomatoes would make for an especially great reaction

M.C.G

I have my issues with What Dreams May Come, but I think it would be a great reaction for sure

MacGuffinStuff

The Color Purple, I'm telling the truth, I'm right now rewatching it, paused it to tell you, Celie and Nettie, the razor blade scene with Mister, so powerful for what doesn't happen, and that's in the first act. And it's painful but then beautiful at times, and funny too! I think it's Spielberg's most powerful movie until Schindler's List and the irony is he didn't even want to do it, he didn't think he deserved to direct it, but Quincy Jones convinced him to. ALSO, isn't it weird AF that the color Purple doesn't actually exist or am I wrong? I heard it's just us humans who see purple but it's not actually a separate color, what about indigo, is that real? Because indigo is my, if you pressed me, favorite color, it's the rarest sunset/twilight color Okay just looked it up, violet is real apparently, maybe that's the color I'm thinking of, but, okay I'm still confused. Well that's perfectly natural to me so... The color wheel is a lie 😡

Simon Pegged Me

Please consider Doubt (2008) for a future drama poll. Based on a play, it attracted some top acting talent who all received Oscar nominations for their roles: Meryl Streep (Best Actress), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Best Supporting Actor), Amy Adams (Best Supporting Actress), and Viola Davis (Best Supporting Actress). John Patrick Shanley got a nomination for the screenplay, an adaptation of his Pulitzer Prize-winning play (2005). I think you'd enjoy it.

Matthew Blackwood

You should definitely watch Devil’s Advocate because it’s bonkers (complimentary) Pacino and Keanu horror schlock, BUT… it should be removed from the final results as it is absolutely not a drama. The next two should be considered the winners.

jmundt33a

An excellent suggestion.

jmundt33a

Spielberg made significant prunes to the story. Choices he now regrets, but I’d bet if he hadn’t, someone would have pushed an obscenity argument.🙄

Dirge Girl

Dramatic elements... dramatic performances? ‧ Fallen (1998) [Horror/Crime] - Denzel Washington ‧ Ravenous (1999) [Horror/Western] - Guy Pearce ‧ In the Mouth of Madness (1994) [Horror/Fantasy] - Sam Neill ‧ Frankenstein (2025) [Horror/Sci-fi] - Oscar Isaac ‧ Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) [Horror/Romance] - Gary Oldman ‧ John Dies at the End (2012) [Horror/Comedy] - Paul Giamatti ‧ The Ritual (2017) [Horror/Mystery] - Rafe Spall Cheers and Congratulations! 8D

Jeromy M

Villeneuve seldom misses. A few less popular ones of his I recommend are Incendies and Enemy.

Jeromy M

Alongside The Count of Monte Cristo I hope.

Ian Hunt

Yeh Incendies is great, real gut punch

Jeromy M

Wind River and Three Billboards are stellar IMO, hope you get a chance to watch them if you haven't already.

Layan

No pressure guys but you need to watch Fargo the tv show, it’s just peak television

Layan

I would love to see you guys watch more classics Here are some i recommend - Sunset boulevard ( noir, drama ) - Rebeca 1940( mystery, drama, thriller ) - Rope ( thriller, drama, crime) - The Philadelphia story ( romance, comedy) - Harvey ( comedy ) - The apartment ( drama, comedy, romance) - The awful truth ( romantic, comedy ) - Holiday ( romantic, comedy )

Rnd1000

Its criminal how little love Wind River is getting on this poll. Its one of the best movies of the past ten years . Hope it gets on another chance soon.

Jesse Coombs

Yes to all these! Hopefully they do another classics poll.

sarCC

Sunset Boulevard, The Philadelphia Story, and The Apartment are definitely all must-watches.

Shawn B

Is it bad that I've never heard of any of these movies? When are you watching Willow?

Jack Urmson

For some future Drama polls, please consider Ordinary People, The Spitfire Grill, and Frost/Nixon.

BoredLittleLady

I only saw The Philadelphia Story because of BeKindRewind YouTube video on Katherine Hepburn. It was great.

BoredLittleLady

The Little Vampire is a childhood favorite.

BoredLittleLady

Here are some drama recommendations. The Joy Luck Club. The Iron Claw. Me Before You. The Last Duel.

grischa

Hoping for "Boyz 'n' the Hood" at some point.

Brandon Meng

What a heartbreaker. I've been advocating for Manchester and Three Billboards for what seems like years now (along with Perks of Being a Wallflower, Sideways, and the Royal Tenenbaums), so I won't lie and say that it doesn't sting to see them pop up on a poll and get obliterated by other movies. But, I'll never complain about more Al Pacino. Here's to seeing these classics pop up on future polls with hopefully better numbers. If Al Pacino is what this channel's subscribers is into, might I suggest Scent of a Woman? Peak Al Pacino, and random, obscure references to my hometown of Gresham, Oregon. Cheers!

jmundt33a

Me Before You is wonderful. I’m very curious about The Last Duel.

jmundt33a

Which one is Holiday? I know Roman Holiday and The Holiday

jmundt33a

Fallen is amazing.

jmundt33a

10/Things I Hate About You is great. Mighty Ducks was a personal early favorite. Real Steel is Twilight Zone Rocky, but very fun. IQ, I’m sorry to say is one of the very few romcom duds in Meg Ryan’s peak.

jmundt33a

Practical Magic is a classic. Ever After is the perfect live action Cinderella (aside from one element😮‍💨). If you know, you know.

jmundt33a

Which still counts as a drama. Thrillers are generally considered a subset of dramas.

jmundt33a

I find this comment hilariously myopic.

jmundt33a

Yes, there are issues, and real life added another layer. But it’s a good movie, often a beautiful movie. And it would make for a great reaction.

jmundt33a

Fallen also has Donald Sutherland and James Gandolphini.

jmundt33a

If they ever get the A24 thing resolved, the Happy Death Day films also fit this category.

jmundt33a

Ookay. And some of us keep putting up romcoms consistently.

jmundt33a

I like Matt and Ed, but Rounders is more beloved for bringing Hold-em to the masses (a dubious benefit) than for its accuracy about the game. *shrug*. Maybe that’s new revisionism by poker wonks after the film got cult classic status.

jmundt33a

It isn’t. It is worse. It is the canary in the coal mine for The Last Airbender and The Happening.

BoredLittleLady

I adore Emilia Clarke in Me Before You. And I’ll be honest, The Last Duel can evoke some strong emotions but it is worth watching in my opinion.

BoredLittleLady

I’ve never seen the Spielberg Color Purple. Probably because my mom told me it’s a graphic and sad movie. But I’ve seen the most recent musical Color Purple because I like musicals and it’s a good story. I can only imagine the scenes that the musical implies are probably explicitly shown in the Spielberg movie but I don’t know of course. Maybe I’ll check it out.

Chad Daunhauer

I would like to see His Girl Friday and Gilda at some point too

jmundt33a

Spitfire Grill and Frost/Nixon are excellent

warcrimes

Misuse of the word 'myopic' is the true hilarity.

Richard Burrell

Definitely the best two on that list. Benjamin Button is also a good time. I’m sure they’ll get round to them though!
