Superman! Let’s Go!

ChristianK

Big Blue on Thursday I can’t wait ❤️💙

Jordy's_Here!

Yeeessssss!!!!! I’ve been anxiously waiting for you guys to react to the new Superman!! 😍😍😍

Michal Novotny

Another excellent week, let’s go!!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Fun lineup ahead! “Meaning of Life” has one of my favourite comedy songs of all time but I’ll keep it sacred and say no more 🤭 The latest Superman will also be a good rewatch here with y’all

Eric Mc Daniel

SUPERMAN! HELL YEAH! you guys should check out the other Gunn DC stuff. The Suicide Squad (2021), Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos

Jeff K.

Stoked you're getting to Superman already, though I do hope you return to Superman II at some point. It's my favorite of the Reeve movies.

s0rd3z

Good week

Alexander Sparf

Stoked to see Meaning of Life on there, been anticipating that for a good while. My favourite Python film.

Fritz

Nice symbolism to put Superman on that date. A very hopeful movie during a not so hopeful time.

Marko T.

Can't wait for Superman!

Max Carter

The Meaning of Life is so good and has some of my favourite Python scenes but it's also the weirdest and most disjointed of their films so I'm interested to see what you two make of it

Jeromy M

Had my fingers crossed that you'd postponed 'The Count of Monte Cristo' to the following week. I hope you guys do it soon without putting it through another poll.

Jeff K.

And I would say NOT the Donner cut. I know it’s more along the lines of his original vision but the scenes aren’t complete so it’s janky and takes me out of the movie.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Would actually agree with you in that respect. I remember after having seen the theatrical release cut that the Donner cut added some really cool contrast but would probably have been a jarring first viewing for my plucky twelve year old self at the time haha

sarCC

I'm guessing the new Superman will get them to watch Superman II and hopefully III, which is worth watching as it is quite crazy. I do prefer The Donner Cut now, but it really only shines when one has already seen the original "Lester cut."

sarCC

Definitely Birds Of Prey before The Suicide Squad though.

jmundt33a

It’s a Superman IV remake, done well. A weird starting point, but a great flex for Gunn.

Richard Wakeling

Surprised Superman is happening before The Suicide Squad. Unless they've already seen that. If not, we need a reaction!

Eric Mc Daniel

I liked Birds of Prey but I don't think it's necessary for the others though. Especially since it's not connected to Gunn's DC. I think that can be watched separately

Philipp Roensch

It has been a while since you seen the other Panda movies, right?^^ But very excited for this week.

BoredLittleLady

Keep Stranger Things coming. And OMG Kung Fu Panda 3. And the new Superman. Wow!

BoredLittleLady

Agreed. Was The Suicide Squad the first James Gunn directed movie for DC?

Michael L.

Make sure to eat a big, hearty meal before Meaning of Life!

Michael L.

There's a lot of great stuff (I love the universe song), but it's definitely a lot more Flying Circus than the other two films. And I think it was Cleese who said each episode of Flying Circus has one great sketch and the rest is shit.

Michael L.

I was pleasantly surprised by Peacemaker. Cena's definitely finding his stride as an actor. Excited for the second season.

Zinphad

The Tick?

Roy A

Is Suicide Squad still canon?

Jeff K.

Yes, Superman IV is absolutely horrendous. What he's saying is that the storyline is very similar, but done much, much better.

jmundt33a

Yes. Thank you, Jeff. That’s exactly what I meant.

Jenny_M

Can’t wait to watch Superman with you two!

Jasbro

Bit disappointed they didnt watch Superman 2 before the new one, Kung Fu Panda 3 is a nice surprise though.

droodly

@REDR58 Close 2nd for me. I LOVED Doom Patrol!

Bookwormy

Kung Fu Panda 3 NICEEEE

Brent bmc_comix

Me too, absolutely loved the movie and have been eagerly waiting to for them to see it!!! 😁😁😁

sarCC

This also applies to Birds Of Prey (which is also great and should be watched) as The Suicide Squad is a direct follow-up to it.

sarCC

The events in it are directly referenced in dialogue and in Margot Robbie's performance in The Suicide Squad. Plus, it'd be really weird to invest multiple hours into watching Jon Cena's character but not just 2 more hours of Robbie's.

Tiff Naug

Awwwwwww yeah...Mr. Creosole in the house

John Every

Oh damn Superman is a pleasant surprise!

nossieboy

A different kind of stuperhero, lols.

nossieboy

I like Life of Brian the most but Meaning of Life is excellent agreed.

yudha

yesss I've managed to get to patreon this month only to watch superman again!

Foodassassin4life

I hope you watch The Count of Monte Cristo soon since it came in a close second in the last poll

Mycenaeus

The Japanese movie "Pulse" (回路, 2001) is quite interesting.

Jpsynergy

Very excited for the third Kung Fu Panda film! I love these movies.

DanielK

Superman was great, excited to watch it again with you two

Sean Maher

I actually came on here to ask when you were doing Superman before I saw this. I'm so damn excited. It's honestly become one of my comfort movies.

Shawn B

What a coincidence! I actually came on here to ask when they're doing Willow!

Sean Maher

They know what the people want! Lol
