I like how George is always happy when he sees Benedict Wong in a film (by 'I like' I don't mean it in an ironic, negative way) but I think he has never seen him in such a crazy role bofore, I think, so I´m looking forward to his reaction. I think he´ll be like wtf and shocked but he´ll like it bc it´s a cool zombie-like role^^ and Wong did a great job

I've noticed it's hard to really scare George but think I know one that may terrify him. It's a little known gem called "Under The Skin"(2013). Set in Scotland and starring Scarlett Johaansen, it's so disturbing, unnerving that it stayed with me a whole week after watching it.

Great week! I'm very excited to see Midsommar on the schedule. It was my gateway into the weird little world of folk horror and led me to the original Wicker Man which has become one of my favorite horror films.

The Wicker Man (1973 ofc) is my dream reaction from Simone and George (along with Braindead and Ravenous), but while it and Midsommar share some folk horror DNA they are very different films thematically. So i think there's room for both. The problem is getting The Wicker Man to win a poll. 😛

Others have mentioned the supposed lifting of the A24 ban… hopefully the issues were actually resolved, and this doesn't wind up being a "trial by fire" for Cinebingers.ca. I'm actually really hoping this means we get to see more reactions to A24 content (not least of which Simone's reaction to the forthcoming Elden Ring movie!).

Maybe I misunderstood, but the impression that I got was that the A24 ban went away pretty shortly after it was originally introduced because Cinebinge challenged the claim and A24 didn't bother to respond again, resolving it in Cinebinge's favor. In any case, excited for Midsommar (regardless which version it is) and Saw II, as well as Weapons whenever I manage to get a copy.

First off, Saw continues! Yus! Saw 2 is far from my favorite, and the next one, Saw 3 is one of my personal least favs. But if you guys can make it to Saw 4, I think that's where the fun begins. Second, although I doubt you will, I'd wish you guys would view the director's cut of Midsommar. I think it's superior to the theatrical cut and also, it's a total masterpiece. Theatrical is still great, but the director's cut is the full experience and adds important character bits that changes one's view on the characters, or rather makes who the characters are more clear.

It's not a terrible movie, it's just dramatically overhyped because of A24 fart huffing. the ending is baffling illogical but the film does a great job of building tension and engrossing the viewer in the mystery. It's a solid B+, in my opinion.

@Throatwobbler The Wicker Man doesn´t have to win a poll so that they watch it. They often times watch the 2nd place and on thursdays and sundays they usually watch movies that were never near 1st or 2nd place or were were multiple times on the poll but never made it first or second or were never on a poll aka films they just decided to watch. So, technically they could just decide to watch that film but how likely that is is an other question. Just keep suggesting it, I guess.
