Degenerick

was hoping yal watch the movie. the episodes dont do it justice

Matrim

Y’all should watch the movie, even if it covers the same territory.

newhastings

Aw was hoping itd be the movie. Understandable why you went with that choice though!

Balmung

I must also manifest my opinion that the movie is the better viewing experience. The first episode is the only different content, and maybe the opening/ending credits, plus the gag segment. But pacing-wise, the movie is the better option

Cinebinge

oops, set the wrong release time. fixed

Cinebinge

i think going forward we'll ask the question "is there any variations of show vs movie that we should choose for this series" at the start of a series. due to our recording schedule, these episodes (and all anime episodes) are filmed nearly a month in advance. so sadly by the time actual responses come in, we've already had to make the choice.

Balmung

I kind of realized that when I started watching these last episodes, you probably watched season 2 already. You're good regardless, I think people's passion about this is in part because of the impact the movie had when it came out, and wanting you to get the same kind of experience. I hope you enjoyed Season 2 and am looking forward to watching it with you soon. P.S.- Do NOT watch any of the movies that came out after this, apart from the last one that was in theaters this summer. Those are abridged versions of the episodes.

dansoddity

damn, thought maybe you'd be going back and forth with different anime like you do with the show slots?

Ian Allegro

Has anyone recommended the LiSA, The First Take video yet of the theme?

Hatty Time

So after S2, you don't need to worry about Movie vs Episodic. The normal season watching is the better experience than the movies up until the final Infinity Castle Arc where it's just movie only for that trilogy.

Bloom04

I don't think is a good idea to do the same with anime shows, i think they will probably forget more easily some plots or characters if they go jumping on different shows, (idk if that happens with other shows) but im glad they continue with this series, i do think is better if they continue so they can be more attached to the story? Idk 😅🫡

Igor Iksanov

Are you kidding me? You watched the next arc in episodes? I'm unsubscribing.

Anna Kyruin

RE: Zenitsu -- I know y'all aren't reading these till well after recording, but I think if you look back at his monologue about his "beautiful dream" while he was laying on the spider house. He dreams of being the person he is when he is asleep and above all he dreams of actually being a person that matters to others rather than a burden, IMHO this is why he doesn't just run away. Also his 'gramps' beating into him that he must never give up, not to take the easy way out.

scwyd

for the most part, always watch the movie if there is one

dansoddity

completely get that! I'm just being a bit selfish lol, not the biggest fan of demon slayer but really hyped about them covering anime so was hoping they'd get to another show a bit sooner but I guess I'll have to wait

The Maestro

that and the end of season 2, episode 1 (which was an original story, not adapted from a manga) hits harder when you know how the arc ends

FryLord

The episodic pacing throws off the movie magic🥺. Lol actually it would've been a perfect crossover being the first anime movie

Orangeplum

Watch the movie. The season arc's beginning drags it out and even adds filler. The movie is better

R00t

Yeah. Mugen Train movie is much more better than "season" version!

R00t

This is so true!

My_Cousin_Mose

Why do people prefer the movie so much over watching S2 in episode form? Isn't it the exact same besides the additional 1st episode?

FryLord

There are extra scenes added, the taisho secrets and the breaks in the action because of the episodes. It was originally created to be a movie so it's true expression. I saw it in theaters and it was incredible. When I rewatched at home I didn't get the same feeling from the episodes, only if I watched the original . Also the episode with rengokus father came out after the movie released so I feel watch order changes how those scenes come across

PG Modehouse

Full Season of Mugen Train arc is fine. It's only 7 episodes, which is less than 2.5 hours, about a movies length anyway. It's literally the movie with extra scenes.

My_Cousin_Mose

Thank you! Maybe because I originally saw it in episodic form is why I'm unbothered by it.

PG Modehouse

This takes place in the Taisho era 1912-1926, after the Meiji reformation where they banned the open carry of swords.

blerbaberpaterb

if you look at the video upload dates, these were recorded like over a month ago. they are likely all done s2 by now. so telling them to watch the movie is a bit pointless i think, plus they also do just straight up say it was recorded ages ago. several times.

dlpheonix

Yeah movie is the intended media for the train arc. The season is just a very cut up movie for the first half of s2.

Thanad

I know you already watched the cut up movie, which is truly sad since it ruins the flow of the movie. But i really really hope you post the full movie reaction at once. There is no point in watching the movie cut up even as a reaction. Pretty please

Anders Thomsen

"If you didn't have any friends, [you'd] just keep watching" The cut deep, George

blerbaberpaterb

them not getting back to expanse has nothing to do with season change and them forgetting to return to it, they stopped because the 'fans' of that show were so fucking toxic they bullied S&G into giving up on it because they couldnt share their own thoughts about the characters without a bunch of assholes going all crazy in the comments telling them theyre 'reacting wrong'.

gfixler

George: "Fist breathing." me: "AKA, fistipuffs."

gfixler

The next episode is called "Train to Muzan."

Thanad

That is exactly why i said the first part of my comment. "I know you already watched the cut up movie" I just asked them to please post all the episodes that make up the movie at the same time.

Holdenk

Yes, Skip the first movie. They literally retell the story in the second season arc, but in greater detail

Mo's Not Mortal

This is great, with Demon slayer I stopped at the movie after season one. I've been meaning to catch up to the other seasons. Watching it with these two is a fun way to do it I guess.

DYlan Pacheco

It's to late now but the movie should of been the move first, episode format ruins the flow of the movie it's literally the intended format for the train arc. And greater detail? There's barely anything extra added to it in episode format

Holdenk

The episode format is better all around. The very fact that the entirety of the first episode isn't in the movie disproves your point about not having more detail. It's literally there to see if you open your eyes
