I forgot about the Jojo reference in the first episode of this batch. Which you guys should add to your list as it is the grandfather of shounen anime/manga, long running, respected series that a lot of anime and manga pay tribute to and put references in their own shows/Manga.  If you do decide to put Jojo's Bizarre Adventure onto the list, be prepared. It's so much more different than any anime you've watched up until now. It's very over the top and… Bizarre. I recommend Japanese dubs only because the author loves to name characters after songs and artists. And although they can't legally say them in the subs and even more so the EN dub avoids them all together, the Japanese dub still says them outloud. So it could be a little fun guessing game for you guys.

Never watched Food Wars before, litteraly spit my drink over the unexpected jojo reference

I don't eat meat, so my go-to burger has to be a falafel burger. Homemade patties, pickled red onions, with a garlic sauce, and then whatever fresh or fermented veggies I have on hand to round it out, depending on the season.

About Attack on Titan, there isn’t really a watch order to be careful about other than following the seasons. There isn’t a canon movie like Demon Slayer’s. If you’re referring to the live-action adaptations or recap movies, you don’t need to watch those. I recommend using myanimelist net to check sequels for any series it always lists all the spinoffs, OVAs, and sequels on the anime's page. Attack on Titan: Season 1 Attack on Titan: OVA Attack on Titan: No Regrets Attack on Titan: Season 2 Attack on Titan: Season 3 Attack on Titan: Season 3 Part 2 Attack on Titan: Final Season Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2 Attack on Titan: Final Season - The Final Chapters Edit: And yeah attack on titan would be amazing for reaction choice

I have only seen a little bit of JoJo's here and there and it's wild. Most of my anime experience before now is older stuff. Akira, Ninja Scroll, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D stuff like that. Ninja Scroll would be a fun one off as it's been years for me and was some inspiration for the visual style of the Matrix.

With Attack on Titan, you should wait to watch the openings. They actually spoil major plot points. Not often, but I would be careful on that show.

Burgers..I can't decide. One day I want a smash burger, sharp cheddar caramelized onions and an egg w/runny yolk ( edit: Sriracha too, I forgot.). Another day I want a classic med rare, kraft single, tomato, lettuce, pickle and blue cheese. I was in Vegas and cannot remember the name of the place but I had the best lamb burger I have ever had. There was a sauce but no idea what it was. I have been unable to reproduce it.

My hamburger quirk is using Ciabatta bread as the bun, I fell in love with Jack in the Box (US west coast burger chain) Bacon Double Ciabatta burgers back in college (first meal I had when i discovered what the munchies were 😜) but then 2008 recession happened and they got rid of it and its never been back since. Last year I was craving it so I bought ciabatta bread from the store and made one at home after like 10 years and it pretty much settled it for me that if I make home made burgers I will always use ciabatta because A) its a much better bread to hold juicy burgers with sauce and not become soggy and B) I love the taste, texture and chewiness, soft enough to be satisfyingly chewable but robust enough to not fall apart while eating. My second burger preference is Blue Cheese and A1 sauce. That combination makes even the most dry overcooked well done patties taste amazing IMO.

The Burger thing bothered me too when I read the manga, so I felt a bit vindicated by you two.

Holy shit, a JoJo reference?!! Of course, it had to happen. My perfect burger is almost too thicc to eat, but definitly 6" in diameter and has: crunchy bun, BBQ sauce, beef patty, only thin tomato, fried onion, chili-cheese or jalapeños and lettuce. Love a basic coleslaw as side. I also experiemented with the Big Kahuna burger at home, the patty gets soaked in Teriaky sauce and gets a pineapple on top. What the guy did was more a kebap pocket, but I love those as well. The brute reminds me of Baki characters (another fighting anime) , a bruiser type that likes to break the rules also. At this rate, will we see Simone kneading dough while watching the show? :D

There are so many awesome burgers. I think a burger is defined by the patty. It needs to be mostly meat and not meatloaf-like, the moment you add eggs as a binder it's a meatloaf sandwich. The bun can be anything bread-like, so in my mind the pita and the steamed bun from the episode were fine. One of my faves, is a pork burger with HP sauce, cheddar, a thick slice of raw spanish onion and a little bit of super thinly shredded cabbage all in a toaster toasted bun, so both the inside and out are toasted. Also salads don't have to be cold. Grilled veggie salads, potato, taco, couscous etc are all good hot

Attack on Titan will make a fine reaction. Still holding out hope you'll do Apothecary Diaries at some point. Set in a fictional Chinese imperial court and featuring the best character Maomao. I just think you guys would really enjoy it.

Niklas Lundquist

there is a video from the youtube channel Mothers Basment called Why We Love Food Wars! - Shokugeki no Soma's Recipe for Success that you should check out and make a companion reaction to. He goes into detail about what this series did right and the underlining themes of the story. It is a really good video and makes you appreciate the show more.

Hercule Pyro

Ugh not attack on titan... the ending is almost as bad as food wars. I guess that'd make it an appropriate replacement but it and CSM are so mainstream, should keep at least one more niche show. My votes apothecary diaries
