bringing it up now but crazy enough but a lot of japanese fans HATED season 1's direction, as the director wanted it to be more film like and contemplative. it got so bad that when the show got released on dvd and as a compilation movie in japan he removed his name from credits. the new guy who directed the movie and is handling season 2 has done a phenomenal job and im very excited for the new direction the show is going for but it does make me sad so many people hate on something i thought was really refreshing.

She could work anywhere, but her parents are forcing her to earn enough money for her brother's tuition, so it has to be a high-paying job she can actually get.

If you're talking about the recent memes, the manga was separated into parts 1 and 2, and that memed on ending was from part 2. Part 1 is a full story, it's very easy to just enjoy it and hop off after that point.

im going to be brave and say i liked csm part 2's ending but it definitely needed way more time to properly stick the landing. even if its not ur cup of tea i still think its worth it bc part 1 gets even better after what the current anime has covered

I get yalls arguments but ive been burned by bad endings before after good stories before and it just kind of ruins things for me. Im not talkong about the memes cause my friend has finished it and let me know. I was never really into what I was seeing from the show to begin with so starting it was never really high on my priorities

The question of what might be the most powerful devils is fun. What's the strongest fears of humanity? I'd posit universal fears like the fear of death is more like background noise, there have been 100 billion humans to fear death, if there was going to be a Death Devil it's hard to imagine it wouldn't have wiped out humanity long ago. Or how about a Man Devil or Spider Devil or Forgetting Devil? The Blood Devil that's possessing Power is a bit odd in that case, but I guess it may come from a fear based on some more particularly scary event rather than the universal fear of blood, like maybe when HIV got on the news. Mostly I think that cause she doesn't seem strong enough to be powered by the fear of blood itself. But like we have the Gun Devil that manifested in the USA specifically when they had a wide and deep sustained moment of overwhelming fear that directed the movement of a whole culture. I'm just thinking of a particularly strong, very Japanese fear that these Japanese writers might put focus on. . .

yeah some of my friends retroactively diss season 1 because of the movie. I'd only really seen a few anime that managed to tonally do anything similar to that first season so it's a bit of a shame. but they did a good job incorporating elements of that into the movie...feel for those animators though, season 2 is going to be nuts.

i mean in terms of the really quiet parts and more reflective stuff like denji wondering if the chase is better than the get or the relationships between other devil hunters, not the batshit insane stuff lol

I don't drink coffee. It tastes terrible. I also can't stand hot liquids, so there's that, too. No coffee, no tea (also can't stand the flavor), I don't even want hot chocolate, usually (very rarely, like once every 5 years). I've always thought maybe part of it was that I pulled a pot of boiling coffee onto my arm as a toddler, right off the stove. I had to go to the emergency room and have the hanging skin cut off, and get bandaged up. The scar was a lighter, raised patch of skin the size of my bicep, but it stayed the same size as I grew around it. It's still there, but it's a slightly lighter, slightly raised bump, about the size of my thumb tip, centered on my bicep.

Might just be my bad meme and the consequence of me skimming a bit, but I wonder if they've picked up on the age gap for Denji and Makima. Cause I've heard them go back and forth on how much she's actually manipulating him but can't recall if either have brought it up.

Also for reference. While there are only 12 episodes and a movie, there's likely at least one long season (or maybe a season and another movie) to go before part 1 of chainsawman is fully animated.
