Fun fact in the first episode u can see Megumi almost immediately bust out Mahoraga after Sukuna awakens

To be fair to Megumi, summoning Mahoraga was part of his subjugation ritual, so it would appear and kill whoever is part of the ritual (in this case, Megumi and the sword freak) and then disappear. Considering the sword guy is a little rat he would have died instantly, so there shouldn't have been much damage at all to the city. It was Sukuna who turned it into a city wide shooting match

Megumi had actually tried to summon Mahoraga multiple times before. You could see him doing the hand gesture in many major fights in season 1 and 2 but he got interrupted every time. Guy was really prepared to wreak havoc and die lol.

If you want a more light hearted anime after this or AoT then you should watch the Ghost stories Dub or nichijou. Both funny as hell

I've always felt sorry for Nanami and what he had to do right there. As an adult he felt he had to shield Yuji from the horrors of the jujutsu world as long as possible. In that moment he has to acknowledge that Itadori can't be a child anymore and has to carry this massive burden himself. As for more "feelgood" shows I'd probably recommend: - Silver Spoon (guy from a big city goes to school in the country side) - Haikyuu!! (about a quirky volleyball team) - Spy X Family (kinda self explanatory) I'd also like to mention two shorter older shows which you might enjoy: - Record of Lodoss War (13 episode OVA from 1991- as you are both into D&D, this is practically just an anime D&D campaign) - Golden Boy (6 episode OVA from 1995 about a young guy trying to find his path in life)

Please, please. If possible, either do the last 5 episodes of season 2 next time OR do a 3 episodes and then the last 2. Season 3 works best, if you start from the first episode. Don't watch the last 2 episodes of season 2 and then the first of season 3, I beg you!

I love all those shows but Hells Paradise and Scavengers Reign are grossly underrated. I'd also recommend Vinland Saga.

When he said he has a trump card he was talking about the clone he created that is currently fighting Nobara while the real him stalls Yuji. He intends to kill Nobara, not that he already has her corpse. It's also funny George brings up that Megumi summoned Mahoraga against sword guy, because it's been a running joke in the JJK fandom (and even kind've said by Gojo himself) that Megumi is ready to die in every single fight he's in and nearly summoned Mahoraga in almost all of his fights up until now (even the ones he won or clearly didn't need to use it) he almost used on one-finger Sukuna in episode 1 and again when he fought him in the detention facility, against the finger-bearer curse at the end of season one (that he defeated with Domain Expansion) and even against Todo when Todo and Mai first showed up to bully him and Nobara, he almost unleashed Mahoraga in a suicide fight even then but he just happens to get interrupted every single time lol

If you are looking for something lighthearted and completely not serious, I suggest "My deer friend Nokotan". Hard to imagine something more different compared to AoT and JJK. Turning your brain off is a prerequisite for watching this though.

There are a lot of great recommendations for future anime with different vibes: Haikyuu, Ping Pong the Animation, Your Lie in April, Kaguya Sama: Love is War, Mob Psycho 100, and Pluto would be some of my personal picks.

Haikyuu is a sports anime about a high school volleyball team, it’s a comparatively lighter show with some fun humor, lots of heart, and excellent “action” in the form of the volleyball sequences. Ping Pong the Animation is another sports anime, though it is very different in focus and tone. A wonderful, and woefully underrated, series that is tight and incredibly well written (only eleven episodes!) Your Lie in April is a romance-drama series about a boy who was a piano prodigy. Beautiful music, beautiful animation, and the show has incredible effort put into its classical music sequences. The show can be something of a tearjerker, but I think it could be a welcome departure from the types of anime you’ve been watching so far. Kaguya Sama: Love is War is a rom-com series. Very funny show. Mob Psycho 100 is a show with a nice mix of humor, action, and emotion. Pluto is a kind of sci-fi neo-noir mystery series. Wonderfully written and tightly paced show, it’s another short one (8 episodes, though to my memory they are long episodes)

If you’re hesitant to go back to Food Wars (I’m guessing editing it for YT is probably a hassle), Haikyuu is a great choice. I would also suggest Shangri-La Frontier as a fun one with action. Simone, your suggestion of forcing George to watch Fruits Basket is a good one too lol.
