Great reaction to a classic film! In the novella, Red actually takes weeks to find the right field, although here I simply bought that he asked someone, "Hey, which field is it in Buxton that has the big Oak Tree?" and someone probably told him. I also love the scene where Andy talks to Red about where he would go, and he deliberately says the name of the town multiple times so Red will remember it. Then sends the postcard so that Red can see on the map that Fort Hancock is right across from Zehuatanejo (which would remind Red, if he needed it, where Andy went). Simone, the Einstein movie is "I.Q." Also, little bit of trivia -- Tim Robbins picked out all of those pictures and postcards in Andy's cell. I also always love that Andy brought his favorite carved rocks with him -- they meant that much to him (and they should, it took him years to carve them!). Meanwhile, some lesser-known or praised Meg Ryan films that I think are absolutely superb are the absolutely adorable "French Kiss" (although you can't get it streaming, for some reason), "Prelude to a Kiss" (she is absolutely amazing in this, and it's a beautiful little film based on one of my favorite plays), and the superb drama "Courage Under Fire."

I miss Jarritos! They don't have them where I currently live sadly. Tamarind and Jamaica are my favorites

Did you know, this is the world's favorite movie. At least the highest rated by IMDb's collective votes. Which is largely due to Dark Knight fans downvoting The Godfather so their special movie would rank higher. Basically it's just everybody's second choice. I think it's my second favorite movie too. Such an enormous amount of good feeling in this sausage feast of thieves, abusers, liars and killers. The worst part to me is the "we're kind of becoming friends, right?" conversation where Red wants to know Andy's real story and Andy just maintains he's innocent. Red looks really hurt there for a moment and you can think behind Andy's stone face he's sad cause he realizes there's nothing he can say to make Red believe it.

Interesting fact for you George. Clancy Brown who casts captain of the guards Byron Hadley is also Detective Hank Anderson from game Detroit: Become Human. Some info for players :D BTW Detroit: BH is another game for Simone ;)

You forgot the biggest of them all. He also voices Mr Krabs in the Spongebob cartoon.

The end of “Chit Chat on Cinebinge” was fantastic fun.

Great reaction guys. George you were talking about Warden Norton hiding behind his "faith", the whole story is one big religious allegory when you think about it. The prison is the church and Norton is the "preacher", when he talks about the bare minimum of expense he's talking as if he's preaching but in reality he's a false prophet. The two lines Andy and Norton recite to each other during Andy's inspection are talking about each other; Norton is the "master of the house" and Andy is "the light of the world". You could even argue that Andy is a metaphor for Christ, look at all the people whose lives are changed by believing in Andy as if they're his disciples. One more thing, notice when Brooks leaves the prison the we see the prison behind him as if that is where he was meant to be but when Red leaves we see the outside of the prison, a subtle hint of where each man's destiny was.

This one was so good I rewound to some of your reactions, just made me so happy. Can’t co Vince my wife to watch she got to fat boy and immediately classed it as too violent.

Thus is my favorite movie. All the performances are great and the cinematography, music, etc. are all top notch. Every time I watch it I find something new and the Brooks sequence these days always makes me teary-eyed. Glad you enjoyed it!

Another great prison movie is The Last Castle.

Great movie, though I prefer The Green Mile. Clancy Brown (the head guard) I always remember as the villain from Highlander (1986), one of THE best films from the 80s. The other great Stephen King/Frank Darabont film is The Mist.

It wouldn't be Cinebinge if they didn't talk right through the explanation of what they were betting on and then make up something much darker or weirder.
