Why am I just watching this now?! Holy shit, this is hands down my top favorite movie ever made.. I had no idea that you guys reacted to this one! Had so much fun watching along! :) I'll be checking out T2 sometime very soon.

Shreddy

Every reaction comments on that "2029 is so close lol" thing. But if there was a nuclear war, the change would be overnight, minus the robots. And if AI advancement is exponential... who knows. This movie is more relevant than it's ever been. The risk of global thermonuclear war has been real since Feb 24th 2022.

I know I’m super late to this but Simone needs to look up The Kia Boys to answer her hot-wiring cars question.

So you prefer the first movie over T2? I'm curious as to why. I'm not being sarcastic or trying to start anything here, I just love talking about these movies and I'm always interested in the opinions of those who prefer other movies in the franchise over T2. And also, I love this movie.

When I was 9, my mom's friend would let me and his two sons, who were younger than me, watch this move quite a few times... though we had no idea about the sex scene as he always pulled us into the kitchen for ice cream during that moment. Needles to say I was quite surprised when I finally sa3w this on my own when I was 14. Yes, gun stores are like that and even a bit worse now in some parts of the USA... though there are waiting periods and sometimes background checks for most of those types of weapons... except at gun shows.

I had this poster (from a video rental shop) on my bedroom door as a teenager. Young Guns was on the other side. Best car chases - Ronin, Bourne Identity and Taxi (French)

Amelie W

Best car chase scene: Mad Max Fury Road. Though by now you probably have seen that for yourselves. Dang, just thinking about it makes me want to rewatch it again. But yeah this movie works. A car chase so intense you don't even notice you're getting expositioned at for like 20 straight minutes.

I'm rewatching this with you guys!! Yeah, I've already watched the full reaction for this one - but it's my absolute favorite movie of all time so I'm happy to be watching this with ya'll again on here. :) xD This movie actually makes me feel very happy watching this! I know how much sense that DOESN'T make.. but that's just how it works with me. :P So - sorry if it bugs ya'll that I'm watching this reaction again. I'm anxious to see how closely it mirrors the original. :) Has the way that I watch reactions changed at all? Let's find out! :D lmao - Simone!! You're flipping awesome. xD hahahaha, I know that ya'll reacted to The Predator already but :P you're awesome. hahahaha The music for this movie ALWAYS gets me feeling VERY emotional! :P I'm so damn hyped to watch this with you guys, again! hahaha, yeah, I'm with you George, that isn't my life's theme music. lol - I'd of enjoyed an impression from you Simone! George, too of course but I'd lik to see your take on it. hahahaha, that IS a naked Arnold. That is Bill Paxton, yeah! :) lmao - loved your take on that Simone! lol - it's crazy that neither of you reacted AT ALL when he stole the bum's pants! lol, made me laugh. GAH LOST A BIT OF MY POST!! lol, that scooter was cool for the 80's. Yeah - dude's jacket from the scene before. That had to sugar glass! lol, I don't think they'd let Arnold do that. This bit's plain terrifying - I'm saying this as an American. Yes, you could buy any of those weapons at a shop like that, back then. Nowadays you cannot buy an uzi like that. :P Yup - they're both after the same Sarah. So that's why this movie has it's title! He terminates whatever he's after. He's after Sarah Connor. lmao - her friend's great. I'm not positive on whether or not you can nowadays with modern cars but way back when you could hotwire cars into ignition like that. lol, George! That an explosion, not an evaporation. LUL His body went explodey but not into vapor. :P hahahaha, loved that scene, too! Always makes me chuckle. :) I love Pugsley! Adorable little critter! :) Makes me very happy that you know about 'em, Simone! :) lol, iguanas are great! :P $4.50 was a fair bit for the 80's! She dialed 911, though - yeah. She likes her music! Can you blame her? 80's had some awesome tunes! Yeah - her execution was brutal for sure. Ginger got murderized pretty violently. Yeah - Simone!! The way that she grasped the carpet was very intense! lol - neither of you commented on the dude who tried to stop him from entering the club! hahaha, that bit always makes me chuckle with fear. The entire bar scene is so epic! The intensity, the music - it's so damn THRILLING!! I have a hard time imagining watching this for the first time way back when in the 80's! He's getting up because he's a cyborg/machine, Simone! It'll all be explained her soon. I love how in the dark you are with this movie! :) :P I grew up watching this so I've obviously got a background with this. hahahaha, it's awesome seeing you react to this so fresh! I mean - George has some background on this, obviously. lmao - he was yelling at her so she'd understand what was going on. He had to be clear! LMAO -wow! Now you understand what you're watching! xD <3 You're the best, Simone. hahahaha This movie is very quiet, yeah. It has a soundtrack with music but it's used very sparingly throughout. Whoever did the makeup effects did a very nice job, yeah! lol - robots have been a thing in sci fi for a lonnnng time, yeah! This is one of the first popular movies that was sci fi and included robots. lol, they aren't dead - yet! xD The cops, I mean. Her roommate is very dead, yeah. Can you blame the psychologist for reacting that way? I mean - it sounds insane, when you think about it. hahahahaha, this scene is great! I love how it looked. So flippin' cool for a movie from 1984! :) lol, I'll be rewatching this reaction AGAIN once it hits that time. :P Like I said, this movie was a childhood fave of mine. I can watch this again and again and always enjoy the ride. :D LMAO!! hahahahaha, I loved your reaction to the eye scene so damn much, Simone! George, too - but your face was incredible Simone! hahahahaha, so flippin' fun watching that with you! :D lol, root for whoever you want Simone. Captain's very sweet! Very kind, man. :) FUCKING LOVE THAT LINE DELIVERY!! Simone didn't react to it at all.. but George knew what it was. :P Dude said something about a terrorist! lol, it's like this movie was modern!! hahahaha The acting in this scene is so awesome! Everybody's doing an incredible job throughout. hahahaha, great point George!! Terminator doesn't fuck with door handles. He just opens everything. Locked? HA! Fuck off. His lockpicking skill is unnecessary. :P hahahahaha - that bit with Reese pointing his gun at the boy made me laugh with how Simone reacted there! Linda Hamilton did an amazing job in this movie! Her portrayal as Sarah is flawless. Her job being Sarah didn't end here, though. She did such an awesome job in the sequel! lol - glad you know what's going to happen, Simone! Actor who played Reese - Michael Beign or whatever did an awesome job at playing his role! hahahahahaha, I watched this scene when I was like four - you're fine George! :P lol, props to your dad for allowing you to watch this. :) lol - it ain't that easy, tossing those out of a moving truck at a moving motorcycle as they're both barreling down a road! lmao!! I LOVE George's facial reaction to The Terminator's body getting ran over! So awesome. xD lol, love this scene. Terrifying, now? Just you wait, Simone! :P lol - so hopeful! Very cute. :P hahaha, I kinda feel bad for what's about to happen! lmao - hahahahahaha, yup! It isn't finished, yet! The Terminator's all metal. Speed 2? lmao, I loved that movie - it's so bad that it's fun. xD AWESOME MUSIC, AGAIN!! hahahaha, always makes me smile whenever I'm hearing it! Not quite broken - severely injured, but not broken. Loved your face when it actually moved a lot, Simone! hahahaha, so great! This movie gave me such terrible nightmares as a boy. I always insisted on watching this, though! Fear, be damned. She'll end up in jail, psych wards and everywhere else, as well. Yeah - time travel's a trip, that's for sure! I've always loved this movie so much. I watched this as a youngster - but I wouldn't change it at all. I love that I watched this at such a young age. :) Would I let a kid watch this at such a young age? Totally, I would!! Of course, that's only if I'd be able to explain everything to the kid. lol, Arnold had a few other lines. He also said a bit at the gun shop, as well. :P :D Had such a fun time rewatching this with you both! I needed this. :) Watching these movies aways gets me feeling very positively. Strange? Possibly - but that's just how I roll! :P

So a little update on the gun store scene, and George's question. Back in the 80s, an Uzi, an AR-18, a SPAS-12, and a 1911 would have been commonly available (even in California) around a few thousand dollars altogether (probably why the owner was excited to make the sale and close up the shop for the day). However, the Uzi and AR-18, in their configurations, would not have been legal for sale even in 1984, as civilian Uzi models have always had a much longer barrel and are not imported full auto, and full auto weapons have never been sold over the counter in California. Cameron theorized the Terminator would have found a way to convert the Uzi and the AR. Those same four guns today would be upwards of 4 to 5 figures a piece, and are now collectors items because of this movie in particular. The laser sight also was a one-off gimmick for the movie; that type of sighting took a while to become small enough to be practical. Like the shop keep also said, there was a waiting period on the handguns (the Uzi and the .45, presumably because they were more easily concealable) but the rifles he could leave with that day. This largely hasn't changed, as long as your NICS background check comes back clean (now an electronic process, takes minutes for most), and you have enough money, you can leave with most firearm purchases in America the same day depending on transfer laws in your jurisdiction. These days though, fully automatic weapons are still not available over the counter, are prohibitively expensive, require extra paperwork and vetting by the ATF to own and travel with, and incur long extra wait times unless you are an SOT (licensed gun dealer) to transfer between owners. About the only way to own one now is through private sellers. Same goes for suppressors (which are also exorbitantly priced for what they do), but they are becoming more widely adopted for hearing safety. The government does its best to keep track of all of that now. Most everything that is commonly available commercially to Americans today is semiautomatic, meaning extra trigger pulls are needed to pew in rapid succession. Hard to believe how much was actually available by mail order from department stores for a long time here.

This was SO much fun to watch with you guys. Fantastic reaction. As much as I love this film, the second is my favorite. I only really like the first two, but I just love the second beyond words. Sequels are often a disappointment, never living up to the first, but this is one of the rare times when the second movie blows the first one away. I agree with Simone, most of the music in this movie is really dated and just sort of sounds janky. But I'm with George on the theme song. That is beautiful. I love it. So excited for the second film, guys. I can't wait.

King_Panarisi

Which version of Terminator 2 are you guys going to watch? Because there are 3

Cinebinge

We usually just go with whatever the longest version is available to us, and for Terminator 2 it's going to be the Extended Remaster that runs at 2:35:55.

BillTheCat

My top 5 movies with best car chases: Bullitt, Ronin, The French Connection, Vanishing Point, and Deathproof.

Luetin

lol George: ' A lot of people just have bullets permanently in their body' * continues eating pizza * loved that XD

Lucifer Moon

yes, you can buy all those guns in America. You can buy pretty much anything except military-grade explosives.

Great reaction. I think Terminator 1 is better than the sequel. I like how this is almost like a horror movie. Arnold is great as the bad guy. I rewatch this more than the sequels.
