Wow, I never realized they went away. They were a fixture all through the 80s. I don't like nuts, and never ate any, but saw the little bags of pink nuts in every gas station, convenience store, and grocery store growing up.

The boob domes from the start are really well known in Southern California. They’re actually part of a nuclear power plant. It’s like 1/3rd of the way between LA and San Diego.

So that film critic you brought up at the end, he’s 42 no based on his websites bio. He was like 19 when he reviewed that and thought “yeah I’m gonna keep this on my website for 23 years because I am a professional film critic!” I’d feel so fucking cringe if I stood by MANY of my film takes from over 20 years ago.

I would be thrilled if you guys continued the series. More Leslie Nielsen parodies, too, like Spy Hard and Wrongfully Accused.

The Police Squad tv series was great, very short though. It had the funniest shootouts. I at least feel that it is easier to accept OJ in this role considering what happens to his character throughout.

Simone's Coconut Squire

That series is probably most famous for the quote about it's cancellation "the viewer had to watch it in order to appreciate it" which sounds like one of those 'Duh, obviously' kinda statements, but was actually a very astute observation of what the show had to offer and how tv was consumed. What the quote meant was that the show was so jam packed full of gags delivered totally deadpan, that if you weren't paying close attention to the show in order to get all the humor. Audiences at the time generally didn't give TV that much focus. You'd watch tv while you ate dinner or did your knitting or whatnot, so inevitably the show didn't connect with audiences.

Agreed! And I would add "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" to that list. Sadly, no one ever reacts to them

JediLounger

Just started the reaction. Weird Al has been around for a long time. You guys must watch UHF (1989), but you need to watch some more movies first, because that movie riffs on lots of stuff.

Eik104

I had never heard of it but it looks good! gonna watch it after

Eik104

Hey guys. Looking forward to this one :) Based on your previous comedy reactions, I am sure you would LOVE Team America: World Police (2004) if you haven't watched it yet.

Travis Starnes

Ohh yea, if yall liked this I think you would also like the Weird Al masterpiece UHF.

There was a silly television show called Police Squad, starring Leslie Nielsen. 33 1/3 was an old phonograph speed. It referred to revolutions per minute. There were 45s, 33 1/3, which were the LPs, and the 78s.

I'm quite sure "The Naked Gun" as a title is a spoof of the movie title "Lethal Weapon", which came out a year earlier and was the iconic buddy cop movie.

Einherj

Yes, Police Squad is an easy watch. There are only 6 episodes and each is like 25 minutes long.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Wow, random as hell choice and I love it, also, congrats to George on quitting his bullshit job, it was probably better than mine but f*ck that job!!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Oh yeah I remember they hated this movie back in the day, my friends and I loved it and watched it multiple times. And Holy Randy Newman songs before Short People and Toy Story, I just noticed that the guy who played Manager of the, then California Angels, now Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (because, trademarks... and Disney basically owns the cities of Anaheim and Buena Park now), was the boss guy from Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs".

Naked Gun is one of my favorite comedies. I recommend the sequels too.

Since nobody answered this 7 months ago... they WERE eating pistachios and yes, they were dyed red. There was a time when in-shell pistachios were usually dyed red to cover up discolorations in the shell that came from rough processing of imported pistachios. When we started growing them locally in the U.S. and newer, gentler processing methods were available, they stopped the tradition of dying them red.
