To this day, the line "Maybe feelings are feelings because we can't control them" is the most amazingly stupid thing I've ever heard. It's usually overshadowed in impact by the silliness of the "I promise I'll never die" exchange directly after, so I appreciate you making a special note of it.

Theoshin

All i can ask is if this video does well Please Please Please start looking to do Orgazmo. It is also from the creators of south park, and very underrated and maybe not well enough known movie.

Martin

Omg, this is going to be great!

Ricardo Alanis

Is this the Unrated version or Theatrical?

Angus

The Matt Damon gag was apparently because the puppet ended up looking a bit dopey

PIG

Yeah I heard the South Park guys and Damon were and always have been good friends. Unlike many celebrities, Matt Damon can take a joke.

Odd Thomas

Yasss! Funnily enough I just watched Timothee's reaction last night and it had me in stitches so I'm looking forward to G&S opinion!

Chris O'Rourke

Matt Damon is friends with the South Park creators in real life. Apparently when the Matt Damon puppet was made it came out looking dumb so they went with that.

Young Blood Priest

Simone, this is the theatrical version. The sex scene in the unrated version is flat out disgusting. lol

redddfer44

Oh nice, I hadn't seen this one before! Watching comedies with you is always a hoot. Especially the somewhat... controversial jokes because there's few things more hilarious than someone trying not to laugh :D

Ian Forbes

Hopefully, BASEketball will be coming up. It features Matt Stone and Trey Parker but it’s a Zucker brother film (Airplane!, Naked Gun).

Martin Nicholls

Lol I remember seeing that in my mid-teens, Strange movie, but good. The list of things that are better and more pressing is long, but it wouldn't make me angry if they did - I can't even actually remember what happens, and I wouldn't watch it again without a reason like that: also I now and work with many Mormons versus the zero I did back then so might find some of the jokes funnier.

Martin Nicholls

Heh, didn't know that. One of the reasons I like reactions is all the extra trivia you wouldn't otherwise know.

Prof. Writhms

A TV anchor mistook Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne in a live interview. Sam was displeased to say the least. That's why they had the Sam Jackson puppet saying lines from "The Matrix". And as insane as that sex scene was, they actually cut out some hilariously disgusting shots. The unrated version of the movie shows it uncut. Look it up on Youtube... if you dare.

Odd Thomas

I feel like you should do a Michael Bay marathon to get the full force of the gags in this film. The Rock, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon (The Rock is actually really good, back before Bayness became a cliche and he overdosed on CGI robots)

Lannisen

What are the chances of seeing a reaction to Cannibal! The Musical? Also a Parker and Stone screenplay, with Trey Parker in the lead, and the musical numbers are just amazing.

JediLounger

So, it would take a while. A long while. But I am totally up for Simone watches South Park from the start. lol.

Martin Nicholls

"Too bad it's not Laurence Fishburne" - lol that's literally the joke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdxMkQhq58g - this movie hits so different these days, mparticularly with the Anthony Rapp allegations and other things, proves that all of Hollywood knew _exactly_ what was going on.

Brendan Rafferty

Before they conceived of Team America World Police, Trey Parker and Matt Stone had actually wanted to do a shot for shot, line for line, remake of The Day After Tomorrow, using puppets

Lou Gallucci

Matt & Trey are super into musicals. The first south park movie is a musical, they created 'Cannibal the musical' in college, and they wrote the 'Book of Mormon'.

Eik104

Awesome!! cant wait to see it

Thomas Yanez

Indeed. Fantastic example of the ZAZ style, plus Matt & Trey. I just don't understand why it doesn't have a bigger following.

Logan Kerlee

I'm so happy that you both enjoyed this!! xD I first watched this back when it was new and it was incredible. It totally didn't do very well in theaters though, and that's why sequels weren't made. lmao, I don't remember the Matt Damon deal, but I'm pretty sure that there was a reason way back when. YES, WATCH SOUTH PARK!! Holy hell, that's a show that I'd love watching reactions for. The show's top notch and so much fun. :)

Sweet Owl

South Park reactions would be a content I'd happily pay for :D I mean actual episodes though, not the bad out of context montages found on YT.

Opti_Frog

Rented this at a videostore when it came out, and a couple of minutes in, when i had seen the martial arts "fight," i stopped watching, called my friend and told him he had to come over because i knew the film would be a riot. The vomit scene might be the funniest piece of filmmaking ever.

Thomas Yanez

There wasn't a post-credit scene, but there was another song that wasn't used in the movie at the end of the credits. It isn't a left over song, it actually continues the story of Kim Jong Il's character. In general, it might be rewarding to go back and listen to the movie's songs again without having to comment during them - great, great lyrics hidden in there.

Thomas Yanez

I agree with other posters that doing "South Park" as a first-time Simone reaction would be amazing, but even if you just watch it on your own, make sure to watch the South Park movie ("South Park : Bigger, Longer & Uncut" (1999)) between seasons two and three. As with "Team America", it has a great musical soundtrack.

Jason Johnson

There was a video where Matt Damon was asked about his parody of himself in this movie and he was just as confused as everyone else. He wasn’t offended just wondered why. I think it was just a silly joke that caught on and became hilarious.

david moreland

The fact that Matt Stone and Trey Parker managed to make a movie featuring puppets, musical elements, a political statement about the war on terror and have it work at all levels never ceases to amaze me.

david moreland

If memory serves me right they actually intended to make Damon one of the smarter actors but his puppet came out kind of funky and they rolled with it.

david moreland

Final comment but the sex scene was actually a big fight with the MPAA to get this movie below the NC-17 because of it. Highly recommend the documentary called This Film Is Not Yet Rated which covers their fight among others dealing with the MPAA's arbitrary rules.

Travis

I’m sure someone answered this already but the Matt Damon thing had harmless origins. They made his puppet and someone was just saying “Matt Daaammonn” like that fooling around with it. They thought it was funny so they decided to make it all that he said. It wasn’t commentary on their feelings about him or anything. There are some YouTube videos about it. Also the original sex scene was much more graphic. I can’t remember if I saw it in theatres that way or if it was an uncensored version after but there was one where she pooped on his chest and it was like little rabbit poops I was fucking dying watching it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kevin Bartelen

You want to know what Matt Daemon did to them? He had a face that they couldn't turn into a puppet without the puppet looking retarded so they decided to lean into it.

Matt Gwinn

Simone is totally right about it being a lot of work to make this. After filming they swore they'd never do it again. Also, they do have marionettes is different size for closeups and distance shots. On a side note, the puppeteers did such a great job they were told not to try so hard, because it wasn't funny enough. So, all of the sloppy movements were completely intentional. If you want to see a more serious film with marionettes you should check out the fantasy film Strings. It's pretty awesome. When my friend was in film school we made a short film with marionettes and it took forever. If you're interested in checking it out it's a pretty quick watch at 6 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQONmb8IOd0&t=26s

Next: Orgazmo!

Young Blood Priest

I forgot all about the Thunderbirds. That had to be torture putting out a weekly show with marionettes. I don’t think I’d have the patience for it. I saw a documentary about how Thunderbirds morphed into a another show from my childhood called UFO. I show that was innovative for its time and morphed into another show from my childhood called Space: 1999. Ok. That’s it for my old man walk down memory lane. Sorry guys.

Tenn Seven

Have they watched South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut yet? If not I feel like that's a no brainer, especially since they like the musical numbers.

Tenn Seven

From what I remember Matt Damon didn't do anything, they just thought his puppet came out completely messed-up looking, so they just thought it would be funny if he sounded like that.

Jeff I.

One of the running gags in this movie that I love, and George seemed to quickly catch onto, is that almost every time someone is speaking a foreign language in the movie, it's basically gibberish that vaguely sounds like the language. It's like an exaggerated version of the old uber-American action movie trope where the actor playing the evil Russian/Chinese/German/whatever bad guy speaks their 'native' language horribly.

braaap

glad to see this, no country for old men is a great film but really wasn't feeling it this week. this is much more what im after :D

Duane B. Carl

I'm glad you enjoyed this movie, I was 43 when I watched this in the theater, I couldn't stop laughing most of the time. The puppet sex, and the vomit scenes were the best 🤣🤣The system they used was called super marionnation developed back n the 1960's,, by British TV shows Thunderbirds, and Captain Scarlett, are 2 of the more welll know shows.

Remember everyone, the Cinebinge team knows that you can spend your movie reaction money anywhere, so they provide movie reactions that go a step farther than any other channel, even to pointing out the nipples on a puppet. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and Cinebinge hopes that this expanded coverage exceeds your expectations. Thank you for flying Cinebinge!

Erik Lundmark

Trey and Matt hate All actors, and Hollywood. When they were invited to the Oscars they each popped an E before exiting their limo. Guess how that went.

JoeySnowyNoey

They're fucking kings. I love how much they don't give a fuck, and how wildly successful they are despite the fact that they don't really play ball.
