There are not a lot of cats out there that have seen Caligula and Salo before ever watching Clockwork Orange I'd bet... You're a sick, sick man, George!

Louis Srygley

Did this give you a pain to the gulliver? Perhaps my fellow droogie, a trip to the milkbar might help.

Denis

It was nearly impossible to view this in the UK between 1973 and 1999, at Kubrick's request - can't think why!

Lindsay G

I think this movie would be a lot less palatable if it weren't for the humorous bits. A fine line to tread, but I think this manages it excellently.

Tyler Foster

It is also interesting that the version of The Shining that was available over there for decades is 35 minutes shorter than the American one.

Jeromy M

Salo is whack, made the mistake of leaving that on the family media PC and my mother wanted to put me into therapy.

Russ Verbofsky

I did not think I would see a reaction to this movie. George must have spent days editing it. I am surprised Simone made it through the movie.

Grand Moff Slackin'

The book has a glossary which helps interpret the slang language.

michael clarke

love that you are doing all the kubrick movies. are you brave enough to do lolita?

Adam Wetstein

Now you understand why the bad guys drink milk. It an homage to Clockwork Orange

Adam Wetstein

Unfortunately this movie did lead to violence. As the board of censor predicted and at first were laugh at. I have always hated this movie.

Adam Wetstein

No problem. But let’s remember than ganstra rap has real killing glorified.

Ragnar Lothbrok

You cant say "rape" at youtube??? What the fuck, lmao. Anyway, great film.

Ruphus

I’ll pass on this one. I’ve seen it once before when I was unaware of the content. I don’t like rape scenes. If it is part of the story it can, and has been alluded to in other movies, etc.

Byron

Is 2001: A Space Odyssey in the cards for a future watch?

HeyHeyJK

George, big props to basically rotoscoping the blur on the rocking penis statue. Effectively blurred it out while still communicating the actual shape, so that must have been fun. I mean, acutally great work with ALL the blur work! I was really curious how you were going to make all that work.

Monica Alarcon

This is a very difficult movie to watch and review, you held on to it like pros, congrats... I watched this movie when I was like 12 I think, with my dad (very liberal parents I guess) but it was like a tv version so most of the bad stuff was edited out... I'm really curious about how it came out after editing, I'm gonna check the youtube version now...

Yugi815

The big guy is David Prowse, aka Darth Vader in the old trilogy. George Lucas hired him after watching this movie.

Spooky Dooky

lol Congrats on watching this movie... Now for redemption, please consider watching K-Pax, at least you'll feel good afterwards....

Ben

Watched the full version earlier and really loved your reaction, going to watch the youtube version now out of sheer curiosity, I can't imagine how you censored this one!

david moreland

If you want to laugh your ass off can't recommend the British version of Death at a Funeral enough.

Dragamo

I recall a Roger Ebert review of this film in which he condemned it for making us want to like Alex. I think that's missing the point. For me, it bore more similarity to the much later film The People vs Larry Flynt (1996). If we can find this "cure" unethical, even for Alex, how could we ever consider it for anyone else. In this sense, Alex needed to be the most horrible person and not someone with whom we empathize from the start.

Craig Rhymer

At the beginning when you said that Kubrick was color blind because the screen was red and not orange ... the whole premise of the title was from the assigning of personality traits to each color. Red for anger, Yellow for fear ... Alex started off as an ultraviolent red ... all anger. The treatment swung him to the extreme opposite end and made him a pure yellow .... all fear. The "cure" at the end put him at a balanced midpoint between the two - a clockwork orange.

Jack Burton

I'm pretty sure Kevin Spacey isn't exactly the vibe they're looking for. He's a bit rapey himself.

Aussiefeld

Predestination (2014) Sci-fi/Thriller There are only 2 reactions on YouTube I could see, it is a very underrated/overlooked film... This movie could be confusing so be prepared to have your mind messed with... Cast Sarah Snook Ethan Hawke Directors: Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig

Blacky

If you want to add one more suggestion to your list, I would highly recommend: Dogma (from 1999). It's a comedy, a satire, that's both extremely funny and incredibly insightful, and very underrated. With Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Salma Ayek, Chris Rock, Alan Rickman, Alanis Morissette, and many others. Quite a cast for a not that well known movie :)

michael clarke

id love to see them hit up all the kevin smith movies. my favorite was mall rats. avoid the uncut version like the plague though.

AdNoctumLoki .

I´d love to see you guys react to The Bone Collector from 1999, its a Thriller with Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington. I´ve not yet seen anyone react to that Movie and it´s one of my favorites.

G P

Check out Barry Lyndon - possibly the most beautiful movie ever filmed. Highly underrepresented reaction-wise, one of Kubrick's best.

E.P.B.F.

Adam took the words out of my mouth. It's an aesthetic triumph that fully leverages Kubrik's autistic level perfectionism, but Dear God do you need an infusion drip with 10% pharmaceutical grade caffeine solution hooked into you forearm veins to actually be able to see it all, and not nod off thirty minutes into the three hours plus run time. Seriously though this movie is so visually gorgeous it could give Stendhal Syndrome to Ray Charles, and the man was not just legally blind but has been dead now for nearly twenty years to boot!

Logan Kerlee

I seriously enjoyed watching this film with you both. This wasn't my first go at watching this. It was a number of years before, when I last watched the movie. Very glad that you both decided to watch this and stuck through it, despite the ultra violence.
