You guys haven't seen Monsters Inc? You totally should. A top tier Pixar movie for sure.

People like to compare this movie and Drive (2011). I like them both personally, perhaps with Drive getting the slight edge for me though this movie has more comedy. The original iPod debuted in 2001 George. Edit: wanted to add that Castor is right, Last Night in Soho (2021) is awesome, you guys should definitely watch it. Go in as cold as possible, it will knock your socks off.

Easily my least favourite Edgar Wright film. All style, no substance. His next film though is EXCELLENT: Last Night in Soho.

Adam from Girls is played by Adam Driver! The role which me a fan forever. I got Simone's reference \o/ Adam Driver is super, super, super good in Logan Lucky. It's also got Channing Tatum. Recommmmmmmmended highly.

Odd Thomas

Drive is THE getaway driver movie. The Driver is a cool flick too.

People who have been to Atlanta know the funniest part of this movie is trying to make you believe anyone could drive like that downtown in the 24/7 rush hour traffic. Also, George, I did warn you this one would be a nightmare to edit because of all the music. Great reaction though. I'm glad you both liked it.

Wrwemi

To answer your question, he DID write the scenes with the music in mind. He had been working for 10 years or so before filming started. Also, I know you noticed the guns-synced-to-the-music on the last gunfight, but it's happening all over the movie. Guns, but also the wipers, the people in the street... In this vein, the one-shot sene with the coffee at the beginning is full of lyrics from the song, and the walls, the ground, the people, the police siren.. Anyway, not the best Edgar Wright, but definitely a solid solid movie

Never seen Monsters Inc. ? Looks like that's a movie to add to the polls then. One of my favourite movies from when i was a kid.

Pam Nail

It's easy to miss, but that line from Monsters Inc. appears earlier in the movie when Baby is flipping channels.

Aloha Team! Great movie and reaction as always... I <3 Cinebinge! Ok i'm also the guy that keeps requesting K-Pax, great movie, Kevin Spacey (again), and Jeff Bridges. But today I would also like to request a Robin Williams film "Bicentennial Man".... An amazing film, and the nurse at the end is the spitting image of Simone, it's uncanny! Take care team!

FranciscoGios

Drive is also a good hearted drive/car movie, looking forward for that reaction in the future. This one comes second after the first Fast & Furious movie from my list.

Jay Davis

And now, having watched the Baby Driver, you get to see its "grown up" (that somehow came first) self. Drive. Right? No?

gobmob2000

I think the ending was supposed to be baby's fantasy, that's why it faded from him looking at the cards into black and white with a rainbow etc.

warcrimes

The final shot of the movie is Baby day dreaming, not him actually leaving prison.

Logan Kerlee

Drive is an excellent movie! I hope that they react to that as well sometime very soon.

I super enjoyed watching this with you both. :) Wasn't my first time watching, but at the end I was in tears. This movie really hits me in the feels! This is a great movie! The soundtrack for this is/was phenomenal. While I'm happy and looking forward to the sequel, I'm also very much not. I don't think that the sequel will live up to this. I don't think that it will have the same level of emotional impact.

Nicodemus Archleone

Otherwise known as the Debbie Downer interpretation of a deliberately ambiguous ending. If people want to interpret it as a happy ending, let them have nice things.

Robert Cooper

I just want to note that this is one of a shockingly few movies set in Atlanta, and filmed in Atlanta. There are a lot of (Marvel) movies where Atlanta pretends to be somewhere else, and a lot of movies where LA pretends to be Atlanta.

redddfer44

I thought it portrayed his fantasy coming to life. The rainbow fits in with the stylistic choices of the film. A sort of "this is what I've been dreaming of for five years and now it's finally happening."

OzymandiasTK

I think I remember hearing that Edgar Wright was inspired to make this movie after directing the music video for Blue Song by Mint Royale. There is a moment in the film where the video can be seen when Baby is watching TV with his foster father. It's a great song also!

Ravenlay

The driving in this movie was all real! And Ansel Elgort (Baby) did all of the driving himself. They didn't use a stunt driver for any of his scenes!

Garrett Mazzuca

Gotta recommend the Cyberpunk show on Netflix since George keeps bringing up the game lol.
