hahaha let's go. Police Academy is one of the best 80s spoofs.

jim Howe

Hahaha no way! Excellent.

Charlie Keeler

Excellent surprise would do up to part 3…probably can stop after that

Jeff K

A surprise, to be sure. But a welcome one.

jim Howe

And of course George is having his face being sat on in the thumbnail lol

Jinyatta

A classic. Hightower really was that big, he was played by Bubba Smith, former NFL defensive end. He was 6'7. Sadly he passed away a few years back and was posthumously diagnosed with CTE

Maarten Martens

I remember really enjoying Police Academy 4, but I was about 12 years old. That must have been the right age to watch it I guess :)

Jason Pratt

5 is my limit but I was raised in them so my tolerance might be higher. I think 2+3 should absolutely be done, 4+5 eh. 2&3 have a new police antagonist, 4&5 bring the knob polisher back.

Adam Wetstein

This was filmed in Toronto, the Provincial Legislature building was used as the exterior of police Acedemy

A Red Mage Named Blue

Even though they progressively get worse, that still makes them worth watching

Ginger

I'd recommend parts 1-4.

punterjoe

VERY much a product of its time. Amazing to think this was written by the same folks who wrote Real Genius (before they had a sit down with H.R.)

Ed Stephens

Toronto has changed a lot since this movie was made. Id' stop after 3 in this series

Nick Scholz

Bubba Smith( Hightower) was a football player and fairly popular in the 80s.

Joanthan Skidmore

Police Academy 2 was pretty good too, not as good as The Worlds Fastest Indian though!

Odd Thomas

Watch Kim Cattrall and George C. Bailey in Mannequin instead. Great 80s movie

HeyHeyJK

Really? This film is still that popular? Huh.

Odd Thomas

Key Steve Guttenberg movies: Short Circuit and Cocoon (although personally I like the sequel more)

stephen phillips

2 and 3 are totally worth checking out. More funny sound effects jokes from Michael Winslow. Maybe stop at 4. Also please definitely check out short circuit. Also with Steve Gutenberg.

redddfer44

A couple of fellow reactors said that they miss guys like Michael Winslow who have this one really cool gimmick and get put in movies because of that. I get that.

redddfer44

I'd thought everyone had forgotten about them until I started running into reactions. It seems to work better for folks who see it fresh eyes.

Jeff K

It blows my mind, in retrospect, they had action figures for this series. I mean, they were based on the spinoff cartoon. But it’s wild that THIS movie was eventually pivoted to be geared toward kids. And yes, I had some of those action figures.

Caturday Nite

The first four are worth checking out.

Ginger

Michael Winslow was also in Spaceballs, when they jammed the radar.

overdev

recently watched (almost) all of them, just a little tip, dont watch the last one. it's really bad and they didn't catch the humor of the other movies. had to stop watching the movie after 20 minutes, I couldnt finish it. in my opinion the second one is even a bit better :) the first 4 movies are great but everything after that gets quiet boring in my opinion

Ginger

Yikes, the last joke hasn't aged well: You two men, stop that - oh, it's a woman, nevermind then. - Hello 80s! xD

David Crabtree

Great reaction to such a classic! I think number 2 is ok, but my personal favorites are 3 and 4.

redddfer44

The 80s were wild. I had a ”Rambo” knife as a child (and actually my dad let me watch First Blood when I was 6…), and there was also a Robocop action figure.

Gunnar Rea

Hoping you can add the 1981 movie Stripes with Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and John Candy among others, to the list.. I think you'll get a kick out of it..

Anonymous

The joke is fine, it’s the people too sensitive to it that are the problem.

Brian Kapellusch

There's like 50 police academy movies so there's ample opportunity for comeuppance
