Breaking Bad: Season 1 - Episode 1&2 - Patreon Version

Comments

YoureMrLebowski

this is going to be an amazing journey. great choice.

Kameron Webb

Great show! Can't wait for yall to finish ted lasso tho!!

jmundt33a

It is a great show with one of the most brilliant, ruthless, horrible self-sabotaging villains of all time. And a positively amazing performance.

Senec

Ditto. I absolutely want to see Simone and George stick with Ted Lasso all the way through. And I think they wanna watch it too :D

Śéáń

Similar to The Wire, this is a show that I haven't been able to rewatch since it aired. Can't wait to get through it again.

Kangdarius

Ahh one I wish was a on screen reaction. Hope y’all enjoy though. I know u will

Jay

No matter what Bryan Cranston does, he'll always be Hal to me. Never heard the "only in America" thing but I'm guessing it's to do with their approach to health care.

Jeff K

Watching the intro it took me way too long to realize why this could only be in the US. Duh. Health care.

Pam Nail

When I first started this show, I was convinced the opening scene was the end of the series (or perhaps just the season) and we were going to work our way there over a long period of time. LOL no. This show obliterated the idea of a shit just got real" episode. EVERY episode is "shit just got real."

djKENTO

“this show wouldn’t work if it wasn’t in the US”… tell that to Metástasis.. the absolutely terrible Colombian version of this show hahahaha

MoonageDaydream

Aw yea guys!! One of the best shows ever. Can’t wait to watch along with you

JayF

I said it when you put it on the poll. This is my all time favorite show. The Wire is 1B but BB narrowly beats it out IMO. You are starting an epic ride and will soon find yourself being an addict of this show.

Alexrandom

I wasn't on board for Ted Lasso because TV shows are generally not my cup of tea but you can be damn sure I'm here for this one ! Loved watching the wire with you. This is going to be a trip :)

lovemoose

I'm so excited for you guys to watch this series!!!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Hey George, if you were asking why some people call Mexicans "beaners", it's because we eat beans dude, and proud of it lol. Especially love my dad's refried beans, he adds milk, sometimes puts a little chorizo in them, melts cheese over them, so delicious, you don't even know. But you have to cook them in lard, those "healthy" style beans, no thanks.

Ben

For the first time since the beginning of this channel, you're finally watching a series I want to watch along with! Really looking forward to this, going to watch it later so maybe you've already addressed these points in your video but I figured I'll say them anyway; This season is shorter than originally intended due to the writer's strike at the time, would you consider watching Seasons 1 & 2 together because of this? No problem if you're not, just wanted to put it out there! When you're watching other shows in between seasons, I think it would be a good idea to focus on comedies. It would make sense to break up the drama with some humour, and there are a lot of great short-running sitcoms that would be perfect! (Derry Girls being my main suggestion)

Astraeos

They literally already have a comedy show they have to finish already started

Astraeos

Congrats to all the Breaking Bad fans who are getting their wish. I'll be back next month for the return of Ted Lasso, and always here for movie reactions.

Senec

last I knew, a ride in an ambulance was up around $1500+. I live outside of Milwaukee, which is a major city, but not one with a hugely inflated cost of living, like New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Even a trip to an emergency clinic, to be told you need to go to a hospital, will cost you $200. Chemotherapy costs thousands upon thousands of dollars, because hospitals are the only place you can get it done, and they expect you to have insurance that will cover most of the cost. If your insurance sucks, you're paying most of it out of pocket.

Pam Nail

Fun US healthcare facts: An ambulance ride in NY without insurance costs nearly $1,400. Chemotherapy can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $14,000 a pop. CT scan is $6,000.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

So I'm not a meth expert or anything, but I will admit I relate to this show in some deeper ways because I did live a short period of my life sort of in this world, let's just say the people I was hanging around with at that time got me into a lot of trouble, so it's always weird for me watching this show. It's my third time and I know some people who can't watch it because it makes them want to get high, I honestly never really liked it, so I don't have that problem at all, but there are some things I can confirm or disconfirm, for one thing, that drug is fuckin evil. And yes, you can snort it, and smoke it, and shoot it (needle), and the funny thing was I knew meth heads who would say "at least I don't shoot it", because that meant you were gone.

Diiirk706

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally............ Now.....let's see how long it takes for them to post one of these more than once a month.......

Diiirk706

Hopefully they do BCS after, cuzz spoiler alert; it's even better... And I LOVE Breaking, on top of that; BCS cannot exist without BB, but BCS is just....pure magic...

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Now after ending this season, we need to watch Malcolm in the Middle season 1...so we go back and forth xD

Doug the Movie Guy

How accurate is the meth creating you ask? Accurate but not so much that you can watch the show and cook meth. They made the conscious decision to show lots of steps that "could" be part of the process and in a way that anyone who actually knows how it is made could recognise parts but they don't show anything in enough detail to actually tell you what is going on or how to cook meth.

Kevin Sensenig

Why don’t their TV series have youtube edits?

Cinebinge

we've done YT edits of shows in the past, one of the reasons we stopped doing them is because the sheer amount of work it requires vs the fairly lack luster to sometimes negative responses from YT audience. add to that TV show reactions originally started because we had a little extra time each week and figured some extra content for Patreon was a good idea, without needing to triple the time required for editing as movies do. that being said, we've not completely given up on that idea and in fact if all goes well tomorrow morning you should see something posted, as an other attempt, another try.

Jeff K

I'm not a huge refried beans fan, but chorizo and melted cheese mixed with them sounds... well, fucking heavenly.

zak

I love Walts chemistry lesson speeches at the beginning of the episodes, in regards to change, and chirality, sets up the whole show so well

Dustin Fitzpatrick

i dont know if it was on my end or yours but it seemed like the second episode kept getting out of sync for some reason

Paul Davey

The first rule of MILF club is you don't talk about MILF club!

Martin

Arguably the best television show ever. But it’s a tough watch, as it doesn’t exactly inspire you with a hope for humanity. I think alternating between this and Ted Lasso would be a great idea for the sake of Simone and George’s mental health.

Martin

Great point regarding the speed at which things go sideways in this show. It took exactly one episode before Walt had started his drug empire and killed his first competitor.

Joel

I see your point and I don't disagree. I would say that one interesting piece of commentary I remember when this show ended, was that this show does a unique job of demonstrating the destructive consequences that lying leads to. lying and consistently choosing against what your conscience tells you is the right choice. No other show I've seen showcases this

Dioskur

George the plate you were unable to read at the very beginning when Walter was in bed was a Nobel Prize. Yep, the main character won a noble prize in chemistry. There was no extra info given on that so far. So all you know is he was at the very top of the science world in terms of chemistry before becoming a teacher. Oh and I took the time to google about the monetary value, Wikipedia says: "The laureates are given a sum of money when they receive their prizes, in the form of a document confirming the amount awarded. The amount of prize money depends upon how much money the Nobel Foundation can award each year. The purse has increased since the 1980s, when the prize money was 880,000 SEK per prize (c. 2.6 million SEK altogether, US$350,000 today). In 2009, the monetary award was 10 million SEK (US$1.4 million)."

Dioskur

Oh and I think the show is good but overrated. It will soon peek and the later seasons are way lower in quality. I wont tell you why.

Mati D.

oh wow, i can't believe this is a first watch (i think), haven't start the video yet, but i'm gonna wait till you finish the entire serie to watch all in a week,. BCS after or riot!!!

Jeff K

I love this show (and I also think that Better Call Saul is actually superior, in a rare case of the spinoff surpassing the original, IMO), and hearing you guys between episodes talking about how the ending of the pilot just made you wanna get to the next, something dawned on me: one of the big differences between Breaking Bad and The Wire (and again, I love BB; I used to rank it second all-time behind The Wire, but now it's third since, as I mentioned, I think BCS is better) is like the difference between a book you pick up at the airport, and "literature." Breaking Bad is like a Dan Brown-style page-turner (not that I think he's a good enough writer to pull off BB, but you know what I mean) that keeps the action and story propulsive throughout. The Wire, meanwhile, is like a more traditional "prestige" novel in that it's a slower burn, and while it hooks you, it's not the kind of material that's always going to make you want to immediately start the next chapter to find out what happens next. Which also makes sense, since the writer's room for The Wire included guys like Dennis Lehane and George Pelecanos, two respected novelists. Again: that's not knocking Breaking Bad's writing in the SLIGHTEST. I think BB and BCS are two of the most brilliantly written shows in TV history.

HeyHeyJK

Yeah, can you watch all of Season 1 maybe in one week and post it as one video so you can get back to Ted Lasso?? Asking for a friend.

Kevin

After you make your way through this, you will definitely want to watch Better Call Saul, the prequel series that is somehow even better in many people's opinion.

Michael Robayo

Man, this series reminded me how many issues the US has lol. But a great show, maybe one of the best. I can't wait until you get the other seasons!

W T

Great brianstorm session right in the beginning!

Wirenfeldt Jr

Hoping they'll do Ted Lasso as a BB S1 palette cleanser before continuing on to BB S2.. would make sense..

Mike Miner

Definitely check out The Wire sequel "Blowing Bubbles" after this.

Carlos Hurtado

this is honestly the most excited I've been to see a reaction. i do want to give you a heads up, you have you be careful with comments. sometimes BB fans get ahead of themselves and say too much about upcoming characters or moments in the show. BB fans can be a passionate fandom 😅.

Ben

Do you guys have someone scanning over the comments for you to make sure you don't get spoiled? I doubt anyone would intentionally, but there already seem to be people referencing characters not even introduced yet, or telling you how you'll feel about specific characters. Maybe that's not a huge deal to you guys, but I wouldn't want your potential enjoyment of the show to be affected too much.

Joel

its patently untrue that this show would only work in the US. those are comments made by people who focus too much on one issue and forget other options available to Walt that he refuses.

Jeff K

Regarding Bryan Cranston and his perpetual greatness: I really gotta read his memoir. He has some incredible stories from his life that he's told on talk shows, like the time when he and his brother were in their 20s and used to work seasonally at restaurants while they toured around the country on their motorcycles, and one such instance resulted in them being sought out by the police on the suspicion of murdering a cook at one of the places they had worked after he turned up dead.

SilentBobFather

There is a Colombian version called Metastasis. I have never watched it. It was a Netflix series. And each season's episodes dropped all at once.

Presto2222

Thanks so much for doing this series Cinebinge team! I've subscribed to a dozen other reaction channels, off and on, but you guys are far and above my favorite. You collectively have more heart and more insight than any others I've experienced.

Jay Davis

I'm so torn about waiting until an entire season (or the whole series!) is in the bag so I can binge, as is my wont, or to just watch now... ah hell! I'll just watch now. Lesgooooo! (The depression will come later when I have to wait a week :)

Jomero

I'm one of those people. BCS has B plots that are just as engaging and exciting as the A plots. And it has a lot more strong supporting characters than BB did. But that doesn't mean BB is bad or that I didn't like it. Vince Gilligan just expanded on what he already learned on BB.

ChickensAreRacist

Great reactions as usual and required\expected. Very excited y’all are on this show. Look forward to the time it takes to see you two see it through.

Dioskur

Can you name another country that has a huge drug problem and while having the technology available for quality cancer treatment doesn't also provide the availabilty of that treatment? Maybe I am overlooking something but I am quite sure the situation is quite unique. If you wanted to have the story play out elsewhere, you needed to change it a lot to explain the central problem.

Cinebinge

was the sync due to frame rate drift? or was it the commercial break fade to black parts being different lengths?

Anatol

A good day for me... my 2nd favorite channel is reacting to my 2nd favorite show! Best thing that can happen until my favorite channel starts reacting to my favorite show...

Will Moffett

Are you still doing Ted Lasso?

Greymond

Oh wow. And I just finished another watch of Better Call Saul over the weekend, so this is perfect :)

Alex Ch

Simone is already pretty stressed 3% of the way through the most stressful series in TV history.

Jon B

How many Breaking Bad eps are you guys doing per week?

William Moffett

The #1 cause for personal bankruptcy in the US is for unpaid medical bills. Our Healthcare system is garbage. Capitalism > Health

Ginger

This has probably been mentioned lots of times aready but the Mythbusters tested how long it takes for acid to dissolve a (pig) body and ceramic tiles. Won't spoil the result. :)

overdev

I watched it when it was fairly new with my mum she really loved the show :D the first two episodes are insane and so tense

Moon Logic

Man, seeing Simone's expressions makes this so much harder to watch :p

Tim T—

Regarding George’s comment on “weed in the US”: I think you sometimes undervalue how social mores and views in the last decades changed in minor and semi-major things, a form of presentism. It’s not just that it’s the US, it‘s the time, when it’s playing. With Breaking Bad playing in 2008 back then even medicinal marihuana was still controversial and far often than not not yet legal in the western world. Here in Germany at the moment there is a rather milquetoast attempt to legalise cannabis and the political debate is … well … frustrating, because of middle- or advanced-aged politicians and their preconceived notions, developed in earlier times. The age of the persons plays a huge part in their perceptions of cannabis (and the world), of our middle-aged politicians and, well, “normal” people like these TV characters. Walter and Skylar are 50 and 38 years old, meaning their whole adult life was in the timeline of the US’ very active war on drugs campaign with the “Just Say No” advertising campaign, probably even worsened, because they became parents in the early 90s. Of course we’re viewing from our now and from our younger age – but in effect they are historical characters with an even more historical upbringing. And the past is a different country. In that way every person, while becoming older, becomes a historical character. I think Skylar’s reaction is rather realistic for a 38 year old, non-alternative, mother in 2008.

Tim T—

Seen purely mathematically, wouldn’t the combinations of 1st/2nd or 2nd/1st a touch better? ;)

Tim T—

Forgot to mention: A big part of my love for the series is the cinematography. The director’s often make a huge effort for great shots, sometimes artistically, sometimes just for fun. Compared to the rest of 2000s television some major steps above the rest.

Mr TV Eye

True, was about to write the same. The basic lab setup and technics are pretty accurate (way more than what they usually show in movies and TV), but you couldn't derivate a correct formula and the correct method to actually cook it from what they show. Besides, I'm pretty sure it's not that hard to get your hands on a formula to cook meth, that stuff is around for ages and used to be medicine, the is a lot of specialist literature for sure. Plus, it's basic organic chemistry. I worked as a trained chemist in a lab for 7 years. That's over 25 years ago now, so I forgot most of that stuff, but back than I'm pretty sure I would be able to figure it out.

Charlie Keeler

This will be my 4th run thru of this series, hope you guys are in. It's soooo good and just gets better thru the seasons. Legit possibly the only series that doesn't have a down episode. And I'm gonna get way ahead but there is a spin off series that is must watch as well...but in due time.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Don’t think anyone’s mentioned this but series creator Vince Gilligan is a fan of early Tarantino, so have fun spotting references and allusions to his movies.

Onno Smits

Walter Jr. has cerebral palsy, and so does the actor who portrays him; RJ Mitte.

droodly

"as is my wont" I had never seen this written out before, and always assumed it was "want". Was kind of a fun google-hole. Thanks for that!

Chase Lonnergan

The "only works in America" nonsense is based on the misunderstanding that he is making meth to pay medical bills, instead of wanting to leave money for his family. But hey, it DOES only work in America because he gets his cancer treatments and diagnosis in a timely manner, instead of waiting endless months for approval from government bureaucrats deciding whether or not it's worth trying to save his life or if he should just kill himself. That ONLY happens in America.

Logan Kerlee

Very happy that you both enjoyed the first episodes of Breaking Bad! :) I'm a big fan of this show, some seasons are weak while others are very strong. Let's enjoy this one! :)

RabidMango

If you both could have all 5 seasons covered by this time next week that would be greatly appreciated. Oh, don't forget to remember to keep a healthy work/life balance.

Chase Schleich

I know right?! It was so hard to stop after episode 2. This is not a show you watch weekly. This is a show you binge all the way through in one sitting. I say they just do a live stream binge watch for the entire series lol

Mike Minerals

I wrote the opening you wanted, George: *Record scratch, freeze frame* My name is Walter White. Bet you're wondering how I got here, huh? *Rewind effects* Well, my life wasn't always this crazy. That lady is my wife, Skylar. She's a good woman, even though she likes me to eat veggie bacon, ha. The kid? That's my son, Walter Jr. It was a morning like any other, but little did we all know, in 3 short weeks, I'd be... *theme song plays* Breaking Bad.

Nate Terry

Science fact: dissolving from acid is just the fluid taking the bonds that make up an object and removing them by having the acid molecules interact with the objects molecules. so if you had 10 million atoms bonded together making up a gun. the acid just removes the bond between the atoms. The 10 million atoms that made up the gun are still present in the acid, they are just separated atoms floating around in the fluid now.

Steve H

they leave out,and make changes; they dont teach "how to make meth", they wont.

MasterElodin

wtf how did I miss this was happening. I'm not completely done catching up on the wire yet but I'm very excited for this :)

Kasa

HOLYFSHIT I MUST BE DREAMING. THEY ARE FINALLY DOING IT

Steve H

So glad you're into this now, Breading Bad is going quite a ride for you.

mojo shivers

I love this reaction. There are so many times I was yelling out, “Just you wait…” to the comments you guys were making. I love when shows end so far from where they start and I think this show is best example of that. Because of the quality of the writing and acting you don’t see all the shifts as they happen, but when you compare any two seasons it’s just a crazy journey. Kind of like frog not knowing it’s in boiling water if you only gradually turn the heat up. I can’t wait for you guys to see how well your predictions hold up as you watch.

Erika R

Breaking Bad nice!!! I love this show, I'm glad they're starting this one already, I'm not into Ted Lasso however I know a lot of people love it and I’m happy so many patrons are having a good time watching your reactions but It's also nice to have this, so that everyone can have more options and enjoy such different, cool and awesome shows at the same time.

Vwlss Nvwls

I love this show so much, this watch through with you two will be my fourth time of watching the whole series. When this show originally aired, and I heard the premise, I just didn't understand how it could make for a good series. As time went on I kept catching the endings of some episodes on other shows I recorded, till one day I saw the end of one and said "okay... I have to see what leads up to this." Then I caught up with the live episodes, and was blown away.

megamoo chilli

Subscribed here because of Breaking Bad. Such a quality show. Their reactions are great. Pretty sure Mythbusters did an episode on breaking bad, including the acid in the bathtub.

Josh

I’m so excited for this. Breaking bad is my favorite show and you guys are my favorite reaction channel. You guys have no clue what kind of a ride you’re starting. It only gets better.

JoshG

I never got past the first season of this show cause I just couldn’t really get into. Curious if watching it with you guys makes me enjoy it more.

JoshG

I was in middle school when vine ended. Sad days

Gary Poussard

If someone hasnt already mentioned it to answer Simones question Breaking Bad aired on AMC hence the ad breaks .

redddfer44

Yesss. This show taught me so much about drama and character psychology.

Jeff K

And I immediately read that “Just you wait” in the voice of Lin Manuel Miranda singing as Hamilton.

Jeff K

Something you guys will discover as you watch this show and, hopefully, Better Call Saul eventually: Vince Gilligan and his team are the absolute masters of the cold open. I’m one of those people who thinks The Wire is better than BB, but I will readily admit that as great as the cold opens on The Wire were, no one has ever mastered the cold open the way BB and BCS did.

gobmob2000

Mythbusters did an episode on this, the acid dissolving the body and the tub is unrealistic. Hydrofluoric acid is simply a bad acid to use for dissolving bodies. However there is lye, the more common chemical to dissolve bodies, which can dissolve a body fairly well, but it would still take a few day unless you use a pressure cooker with the lye. BTW, dissolving bodies is a legitimate business and there are actually pressure cookers designed to be used for that purpose in combination with lye.

gobmob2000

Any acid is a chemical reaction that eventually will become inert when it reacts with other chemicals. Asking how long the acid will work is like asking how long a log will keep a fire going, it depends on the size of the log and it depends on how much acid you have.

Odd Thomas

Amazing series but it's sooo dark I don't think I could watch it all over again

overdev

this and avatar are my favorite TV shows cant wait for the next two episodes

Philipp Roensch

Ho boi, this going to be a wild ride, hope you enjoy it! I'll just let one thematic tidbit here to ruminate on: Chemistry is as Walt says "the science of transformation", the show perfectly uses this for it's character's journey.

Travis H

Going to attempt to watch this with you. It’s a fantastic series it’s just my tv absolutely HATES the Netflix app! I’m trying to do it off the Xbox version instead of the tv but somehow it keeps getting out of sync. I’ll make it work but it’s frustrating. But like many others I got a good chuckle out of George thinking an ambulance ride cost $500. That was just adorable…well and sad of course.

David Olden

The current cost for an ambulance ride in Albuquerque, NM … [a/o February 1, 2017] “Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Applies when emergency (immediate response made to 911 or equivalent call) BLS transportation, intervention, or assessment is provided by licensed Emergency Medical Technician. Service Rendered Rate Assessment or intervention, with or without transport: $512.00 Per patient mile: $12.75” So George wasn’t far off at all! Source: https://www.cabq.gov/fire/ambulance-billing/ambulance-billing-rates

JoeySnowyNoey

This is my favorite show of all time! Can’t wait to rewatch it with you guys! Also me being Hispanic (Mexican) I love any good media with lots of hispanic actors in it.

Justin Leone

There are a lot of things about this show that either rely on it being set in America, or which would need to be altered for other countries, but when people say it could "only happen in America", they're almost certainly referring to America's lack of comprehensive guaranteed health care. Our health care system is very profit-oriented. And not just the actual providers (who of course SHOULD be paid for their work), but the administrative side of resource allocation. Private insurers, who are very risk averse and profit motivated, dominate the financial end of healthcare provision, and often need to be forced to pay out for claims, charge as much as they can get away with, and fund politicians who will help them fight for the right to withhold service from people who are most likely to actually need health care. Walt's financial predicament that pushes him into the meth businesses isn't ENTIRELY a matter of not having adequate health coverage. As you'll see, there are other reasons for his decisions. But as you've already seen, it's a pressing concern throughout the show that paints an accurate, and not very flattering, picture of the United States.

Haye Zeus

I’m actually surprised ya’ll didn’t start out with this show first and got it out of the way. Very hit show for all the reactors out there. As a first time viewing the show is an absolute blast. But over time the show has fallen for me. That’s why I don’t think it deserves to be put in the category of greatest show of all time. But it is a lot of fun and hope ya’ll enjoy it.

Justin Leone

George, seeing the Ambulance: "That's, like, $500!" Oh George... Never change. And never move to the United States. That ride would almost certainly be over $1000, and potentially several thousand.

Justin Leone

To answer the question about why we would cut funding from schools: The US has a very stratified class system, and access to education is a big part of that. Public schools are typically paid for by local taxes. Poor areas have poorly funded schools, and wealthy areas have lavishly funded schools. What's more, wealthy people, regardless of the district they live in, tend to send their kids to private schools. What this means is that anyone who lives in a well funded district, or who sends their children to a private school, or anyone who has no kids, or who's kids are grown, is incentivized to vote against allocating more state or federal money for schools. They don't care that better funded schools will create a more healthy, productive, and sustainable society for generations to come. It's in their immediate best interest that others remain uneducated, because educated people are competition for the better jobs. One's own education is devalued if everyone else also has a decent education, because virtually everything in America is rooted in individualism and competition. These traits can be positive in moderation, but many Americans (particularly right-leaning libertarians) worship them to a tragic degree.

Grand Moff Slackin'

To quote Kitridge from Mission: Impossible - "Dying slowly in America can be an expensive proposition."

Gary Fixler

Pot is still that big a deal to me in the U.S.! I grew up with it being a big deal, and only the really bad kids did it, and I never met any of them, so I still have deep associations, weird as it sounds to the modern world, with it being a Very Bad Thing. None of my friends ever did it, and I still have never been around it.

Shane Darcy

One of the best television shows in existence. Enjoy!!

Donnie Darko

Why can't I hear audio from breaking bad? Copyright? I'm new and love BB along with your reactions.

Cinebinge

Hi Donnie, as indicated in the tier description prior to joining, all patrons must have their own copy of the show/movie to play along side our reaction. Within each video George will do a countdown to press play for the viewer. This is because showing an entire show or movie at its full duration is entirely illegal and is considered an act of illegal distribution, and as such we are legally not allowed to show anything except a small fraction of the screen plus a timecode for synchronization.

FischerMax98

What is the Canadian equivalent of the F.B.I. and DEA? Just curious as to who will be knocking on George's door due to him googling How to dissolve a body. JOKING!!

Steve H

sry, said too much.

The Audio-Technica 2035 Microphone

I dont know how difficult it would be, but could you blur the background footage just the slightest bit. It is kind of distracting. I apologize if its only me.

Crystal

regarding cancer treatments - I can tell you that my mom (as a breast cancer survivor) once got a bill in error for the full price of ONE of her chemotherapy treatments - so just a few hours in a infusion clinic - and it was for 8K. This is probably just an average, as it depends on the cost of your chemical cocktail & how long you're taking up a hospital bed. the American system is VERY broken.

Gary Fixler

Born and raised in the US, and the internet has changed my views. First of all, way back in the 80s, I didn't even know - I don't think anyone I knew knew - that other countries had different health care expenses. Decades later, especially through the internet, I learned about socialized medicine, but - thanks to ego (something I've gotten much further from since) - felt they're must be something wrong with it. I'm American, America is great, obviously we have a great healthcare system, so I bet there were flaws in this 'free' system elsewhere. This was backed up later, as the discussion opened, and people became more aware of this alternative to our bankrupting expenses-based system. Various voices - some pundits, some ego-driven regular folks who read a headline somewhere, or heard a bit from a pundit, and argued against anything not USA - assuaged our fears that we weren't great by putting down big problems they claimed existed with the socialized alternative (which I believed immediately back then, because it all sounded immediately obvious, and fit my narratives): 1) because it isn't for-profit, people don't have the same motivation to be great at it, so the care is substandard, like when you get paid the same regardless of what you do, so you don't go above and beyond, and do the bare minimum. (nevermind the idea of following your passions into the medical world, or doing it to help others with your/your loved one's illness, or, even selfishly, in hopes of, say, curing cancer, and being a global hero) 2) there's no competition, and if you never get sick, you've had to pay for decades for other people, and never got any benefit out of it - individualism as opposed to collectivism (nevermind what a safety net it is for you and your loved ones if anything should ever happen, like cancer, or serious injury, where you can't work and become uninsured) 3) because everyone can go in for anything whenever, you'll never get an appointment, because all doctors are booked up for years (nevermind that a healthier population that sees their doctors more frequently has fewer and smaller ailments, especially long-term illnesses that suck up resources) I'm between jobs atm, taking a little break before I dive back in, but have to deal with COBRA, our system for continuing various health coverages for a limited time between jobs, and it's going to cost me something like $600/mo out of pocket, just IN CASE I need something during this time. It's much better to have it, especially as I'm getting older. If I get hurt, or sick, and really need to go in for something, it could cost me far more than that, so it's a real gamble not to have it, unfortunately. This also means there are 2 conditions for the majority of the US: 1) be employed always, with benefits, or 2) gamble/deal with illness and injury on your own, somehow, which a lot of the lower class deals with. They don't have the money to fix their limb, and they can't afford to take the time off their two or three jobs to go in anyway. I guess a third option, which a YouTuber I follow in AZ just took is to go to Mexico and pay a doctor there a lot less (they had tooth issues, and needed an orthodontist, but couldn't afford one with their insurance). We are a big, amazing country, with a lot of cool stuff going on, and a huge population, and a lot of people from everywhere else on the planet, but we also have some really insane things, like crazy health insurance stuff, constant mass shootings, our World Police unit, the whole Florida thing... It's wild.

I'm so freaking excited for this journey, this is a show that at the end you come out a different person, and if you binge it too hard and end it quickly you can have a little PTST about the lack of Breaking Bad in your life. lol

I'm so excited that the two of you are reacting to this show, it's so good! I'm jealous that I can't rewatch this without knowing what's going to happen again!

All’s that I am going to say…. HELL YEAH!!!! I’ve been watching & subscribed to your YouTube channel for a couple years now. Watching both of your combined reactions and sharing your views brings such pure enjoyment. Once I found out that you have a Patreon Exclusive watching; what I & plenty others feel; quite possibly one of the very best television series that has ever been written! I had to do an annual subscription for this once in a lifetime series! Not to get too much ahead but I’m also banking on the fact that you both MUST watch the follow-up movie ‘El Camino’ and the comparable masterpiece prequel series ‘Better Call Saul’ I’m happy to have seen & became a Patreon member somewhat in the beginning of this series. There’s is nothing better than viewing this series again especially watching brand new viewers thought process whilst watching this series.

I believe it was Phosgene gas. It was a call-back to earlier when they were watching TV with Hank. Mustard gas is different. Both were used in WWI

Michael Short

Told myself I'd join as soon as you announced Season 3 on Youtube, here I am! Can't wait to binge and hope you get to season 4 relatively soon! :)

I just subscribed to your Patreon channel in order to experience your reactions, in full, to this series, after being a fan of your Youtube presence for a year or two. Your reactions to the first two episodes of Breaking Bad did not disappoint. Looking forward to seeing you react to the entire series and its spinoffs (El Camino and Better Call Saul).

He was struggling with several issues, including the Judeo-Christian morality to which he was still somewhat attached at the time. He wrote that down on paper as a list of pros and cons of killing his captive.

Myth busters tested the acid in the tub and even a fiberglass tub stood up to the acid. So that ceramic tub would've been fine

This app a really long time ago called "vine." Jesus Simone you gotta warn us before you say something that makes old people's bones turn to dust in their body. Fun RV trivia: The Winnebago nation's own name for themselves is Ho Chunk.

The house across the street looks exactly like Chuck's house. I never took crust off my bread Krazy 8 serious as a thug. I always saw him as a complete wannbe who was being Hank's little snitch. I notice in some movies and shows George uses the word "unlikeable" very loosely. He may not like a character for whatever reason, but everyone else, that character can be a favorite.
