JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

The Abyss or Unbreakable’s probably gonna be the one but Casablanca’s pretty great too. Here’s looking at you…uh…patrons

streaky

Hanna underrated - though clearly if you haven't seen The Abyss it's kinda required viewing, dunno if I could sit through a full length but it's one of *those* movies.

Liam Nissan

Didn't National Treasure do pretty well before the other poll got nuked? might be worth to pop on at some point

Denis

Funnily enough, I’ve seen Armageddon, but never seen Deep Impact 🤔

JuliusKuegel

It's never gonna win, but Hanna is such an underrated and underwatched movie. I wish it would be talked about more. The Chemical Brothers soundtrack is a vibe and then some.

GnolRevilo

Gotta be Hanna. One of those films that really surprised me with how good it is.

Marko T.

Unbreakable. Suggestion: King Kong (2005). My favorite Peter Jackson movie. :)

Joe Mallard

I'm gonna recommend Warrior with Tom Hardy to be watched at some point, excellent movie.

DemNikoArt

Abyss & Unbreakable all the way!!! In a similar vain of Sci-fi Thrillers like The Abyss, I would highly recommend "Sunshine". Danny Boyle's trip into the schi-fi genre. With an amazing cast like Cyllian Murphy, Chris Evens, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong etc.

von Hule

Sorry if I'm repeating myself guys but I really want y'all to watch some Mads Mikkelsen films; The Hunt (2012) and Another Round (2020) are great films by the same director. <3<3<3

Zhivko Yakimov

I definitely agree that Hanna is underrated, and it is not something you would normally expect, given the premise and the tag line. The thing is, I didn't expect Oh Brother, Where Art Thou to win either, so you never know ... However, if Simone and George haven't watched The Abyss yet, it is worth having a look. It is classic 80s adventure cinema, in the best traditions of the genre. Also, James Cameron is directing.

OldBeardedGuyReacts

I think Unbreakable is great but I'm wanting it to win mostly because of how good the sequel (Split) is

Kyle Baker

Happy that the classic is at least doing respectable.

Nathan

Hanna is a great film but hope casablanca wins because bogart 👍

Ronny Boss

I would love to see an 80's sword and sorcery poll.

Matthew Richson

The Abyss, I love that movie! Even more compelling due to how hellish the production was.

Random Nevermind

Very nice poll. I hope to see one day your reaction to "The Devil Wears Prada" while I know that it's gonna loose this time since Unbreakable is in the poll. And two random recomendations in a comment for a random poll: Falling Down (1993) and The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)

Jeff K.

Casablanca is, for me, the greatest movie ever made and minimally has the best script/dialogue in movie history. It won’t win this poll but you guys need to watch it. It’s always at or near the top of every “best movie ever” list for a reason.

Jay Davis

To be my contrarian self and in the hopes of keeping it alive in future polls, gonna vote Hanna here.

Senec

Just gonna float this out there to keep it on your radar. I'd love to see Nobody(2021) make it onto a poll. It stars Bob Odenkirk, of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame.

Mister Forbez

If/when you watch The Abyss, please watch the extended version if it's available. It's fine without the additional material, but makes so much more sense with it (especially the ending). The original production was incredibly difficult: water + James Cameron, and went way over budget, to the point that they couldn't finish all of the VFX shots they needed. They were added years later after Cameron had the clout/cash/technology.

JayF

I wish some of the really old films could get more traction here. Having cast that meaningless vote though, I'm realistically hoping The Abyss pulls this one out. Though you may have to do a followup poll on which version we want you to watch.

punterjoe

So many of these candidates are personal favorites, it's difficult to choose. While I hope my choice 'wins' - no matter what is chosen, it should be a great watch-along.

Emily G

Meet Joe Black and Devil Wears Prada are going to lose but I hope you do watch them one day!! They are great movies!

redddfer44

Casablanca because Casablanca. A vote for Hanna which I haven't seen because Saoirse.

Carl Whitted

If the you're gonna watch The Abyss, watch the special edition. Much better than theatrical cut 👍

Jason McCloud

The Abyss is easily my favorite on this list. I'm a big Ed Harris fan and there's a scene in the movie that is incredibly well acted.

MaikeruNeko

Random movie recommendations? My favorite 'quirky-sweet' movies: Stranger Than Fiction, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Seeking a Friend For the End of the World

My name is Jere

I really like The abyss and deep impact but i love unbreakable... I hope that one wins, i want to watch it again

Gee

I've voted for The Abyss as it's one of my all time favourites , seeing that on the big screen was incredible. I'd recommend another film staring Ed Harris 'The Right Stuff' . You guys enjoyed Apollo 13 and it's the story of the start of the space program, the Mercury Seven and one of the greatest test pilots Chuck Yeager.

Eddy

If you’re watching The Abyss please watch the extended version. I know it’s long but definately worth it… wait, that’s what she said…

FrancescoTakesItEasy

I'm voting Abyss, but only if you do the extended version, known as Special Edition.

Alexrandom

Unbreakable is a masterpiece. I feel it's a bit overlooked. Definitely shyamalan's best film. Hope you guys like it :)

jmundt33a

The original Hanna is an interesting action hybrid. Long sequences have a music video feel because the director had the most experience shooting those. Unbreakable is excellent. Really good performances. Not as powerful or heart-rending as Sixth Sense, but quality. Stranger Than Fiction is a personal favorite. The best thing Will Ferrell ever did by a fistful of light years. I do enjoy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

M.C.G

Damn fine list of films.

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Hanna is my vote but before voting the order was fairly easily predicted..hopefully Hanna will get a watch at some point

DenzLad

Dog Soldiers 2002 British action horror. Must watch. Would love to see that reaction.

Zoe Hart

Would they ever consider dipping their toe into foreign movies or series? As in another language - fx Nordic Noir.

Martin

I’m absolutely stunned that only Simone has seen The Devil Wears Prada. Stunned, I tell ya!

Lester Yung

As others have said, if you react to "The Abyss", pls watch the special edition. It restored scenes cut from the theatrical version that give the movie more gravitas (some critics at the time of the theatrical release derided it as "underwater E.T.")

QuiGon_Jim (Howe)

I'd imagine its been recommended a bunch but I'd like to see 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' on a poll.

Nate Gavin

Cinebinge team, if you are suffering from The Wire withdrawal...you have got to check out The Shield or Justified. Smart, funny, gritty, violent, romantic (maybe) and definitely alien to Vancouver (I'm guessing, never been there!)

colirino

I think George and Simone should watch Go (1999) and Kalifornia (1993). I know completely random choices buuuut I'd love to see these two great yet little known movies get more recognition.

Jon

meet Jack Black is really really good movie ! the story is good, and Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins are awesome in it... one of the best of the 90's, hands down..... it's a shame it rates so low :( watch it guys, Patreon or not

Kieran

Dog Soldiers is worth a watch for sure, underrated film

Ethan Holgate

Really hope it's the Abyss I highly encourage you guys to watch the directors cut that is the far superior version the theatrical cut has alot of missing elements james cameron would tell you that himself lol

Logan Kerlee

Armageddon's the superior version of the two movies. Nothing tops Bruce Willis' on that rig. xD xD xD

Scott CineRam

Can I dis-recommend Meet Joe Black? It's long. It's slow. It's dumb. Thumbs down.

nossieboy

Love the emphasise on SOME.

John Richards

Can't believe Casablanca is not getting more support. It's only one of the best movies (and certainly the most quotable) movies of all time.

Daryl 👽

You must watch Deep Impact. Sooooo good

Peter Dillard

Casablanca is a true classic. Hard to believe you haven't seen it yet.

Kinokind

Casablanca is one of the most perfect films ever made. The AFI rated it #3 of the 100 greatest films of all time. The others on the list, although some are good, are just run-of-the-mill movies. (Interestingly, The Godfather was #2 and Citizen Kane #1, yet almost no on has reacted to it!)

Logan Nelson

Unbreakable is overrated in my opinion, but tye full trilogy somehow works for me, so hopefully they do all 3.

Kniggit

I would watch reactions to each of these movies.

sarCC

Casablanca is a HUGE must-see! A perfect film.

James Falato

"Casablanca" is a MUST SEE/REACT Film... To Me it puts the "Class" in "Classic"...

dudewheresmycar

If you watch The Abyss, make sure you watch The Special Edition. The theatrical cut was had its final sequence severely cut down from James Cameron's original vision as he was unhappy with many of the the effects. As such the movie doesn't really make much sense. The Special Edition is a far grander movie that completes his vision of what the movie is supposed to be.

Ed Stephens

Canadians should never watch Meet Joe Black which forced a Canadian movie out of Canadian theatres by some Hollywood bullying. Show this movie or you don't get the next Star Wars kind of bullying. The movie it replaced was the award winning Last Night (1998) with Sandra Oh

Mark Rohal

How could we get the movie "Slingblade" into a poll?

UnusedDogSlice

Hope you guys reacted to the new gran turismo movie it is a fun watch and I recommend it 😀 😊

JoeE

Would also recommend treasure of the sierra madre and Maltese falcon

James Hadden

I’d love for The Abyss to win, but I’ll never be complaining about results as Man On Fire finally won a poll

Funny That

Without a doubt a truly eclectic mix. Only Kevin Bacon could connect them together, but that would be cheating. Anyway, fingers crossed. :^.

Tall Paul

Very good list. I can relate to George. I've seen both Deep Impact and Armageddon and I'm not 100% sure which is which.

Brendan Rafferty

I’m rooting for Deep Impact, which, unfortunately, looks like a long shot on this poll Best way to describe it would be… Imagine if Armageddon had characters reacting realistically, adhered to actual science, and actually made sense

Brendan Rafferty

Saw Unbreakable at a test screening. Had a much better ending. No Spoiler: The ending shot was the same, but there were no title cards over the characters before the credits that explain what happened next. Without that text on the screen, the ending is more open. That was not a spoiler because only people who saw the film will understand that

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

True Romance! I won't type up my first write up of this film after the web page ate it , I'll just say, written by Quentin Tarantino, directed by Tony Scott, starring EVERYONE, including Gary Oldman as a dreadlocked pimp.

Florian

Routing for Unbreakable and then Split and Glass streight after

sarCC

Gonna go ahead and recommend POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING. It's a spiritual successor to (and the closest any movie about music has come to being as hilarious as) THIS IS SPINAL TAP.

cincassette

You guys should definitely check out some of the older classics!! "Rebel Without a Cause", "Singing in the Rain", "12 Angry Men", Sergio Leone, Hitchcock, etc.

Patrick

Maybe it's just on the mobile patron app, but it's only letting me vote for 1 film.

Connor Macarty

NOOOOO REMEMBER THE TITANS 💔💔💔

Jon

just a suggestion : you should do a poll JUST with old movies... coz Casablanca here is stuck between 90 & 2000 movies... of course it's always gonna loose - doesn't matter how good the film is......... also, speaking of old movie... one who's a MUST MUST watch : "12 angry men" ! ... it's just........ one of the best film ever :)

Martin

Okay, since this will now be the third M. Night Shyamalan movie reacted to, would I be completely out of line to suggest “Lady in the Water?” Don’t judge me. ;)

Thomaz Chagas

Some suggestions: - Almost Famous (2000) - Big Fish (2003) - Make sure Simone is hydrated before watching. - 12 angry men (1957)

Tim T—

Today I'll be the weirdo who suggest the perfect melange of greatness, strangeness and ecstatic truth: Werner Herzog movies. Of his feature films: Aguirre, The Wrath of God (1972), Fitzcarraldo (1982), of course, but also Kaspar Hauser (1974). I almost love his documentaries more, of the most recent: Grizzly Man (2005), Encounters at the End of the World (2007) and Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010). The latter two may be the most accessible. And Tremors (1990), of course.

PastaDon

Devil Wears Prada!! I'm down for that.. was actually really good.. imo.. C'mon guys, nobody want's to get in touch with their feminine side just for a couple of hours!! I mean, a little cover up never hurt anybody, Right!!.. lol.. All well, hopefully you guys decide to do it anyways someday.. 😀

Timothy Sugiura

Something that everyone needs to remember when suggesting movies for them to watch on the channel is: Will it get views? This is a business and they need views to make money, so films that are not well known probably won't do very well. Mainstream films and cult classics are going to be the better choices.

HeyHeyJK

I'm glad to see 'Unbreakable' in the lead, so I'm going to throw in my vote for "The Abyss" which I'm glad is in 2nd place.

FromDarknessComesLight

I love both Deep Impact and Armageddon, and I 100% get the confusion between the two. It's basically the same story, except the endings are different. Without spoiling the story, the only way to tell the difference is the cast - which Armageddon has a more well known cast as a whole.

MasterElodin

Yes I hope Unbreakable also includes the rest of the trilogy cause its very unique I feel like. Definitely looking forward to this :)

Swede for the table

Oh yes, that movie is really good!!! Bruce is awesome in it, and the details!

Swede for the table

Also, "The village" is really nice! even tho it gets some undeserved hate!

Mark Barger

I really enjoy your channel. You said you read all the comments so I hope you read this one. I have watched Casablanca with a younger crowd and the thing that takes away from the enjoyment of one of the greatest movies ever made is not understanding the politics of the movie. If you do get the pleasure of watching the movie, please, please, please take just a minute and read about the politics of Vichy France and Germany in WW2. It won’t be a movie spoiler and so much of the movie depends on the politics of the time between Vichy and Germany. OK, that’s all I’ll say and don’t let “politics” scare you away from this movie! I hope you watch it. It truly is a great, great film.

James Smith

If Bruce Willis was in it, then it was Armageddon that George watched.

Jonathan Guzman

come on guys. George needs to see the devil wears prada.

Michael Buhl

I wish you would watch more 1970s movies. It was a special time in the history of American cinema. Network Chinatown Dog Day Afternoon Taxi Driver Paper Moon

sarCC

Just a heads-up: THE ABYSS is currently unavailable to stream in the US

Brendan Rafferty

It’s hard to imagine two film fans who have never seen Casablanca. This is like finding out someone has never heard The Beatles.

Matthew Johnson

My vote is definitely for Casablanca. I really think you guys would love checking out some older movies, like: All About Eve, The Manchurian Candidate, Brief Encounter, Black Narcissus, Gaslight… There are a lot of great choices!

Steve kephart

Oh man, so many good choices this time. My pick would be Hanna as it is so good, but unusual. Hopefully you guys get to it at some point.

Jacob King

Impossible to go past Casablanca or Unbreakable both of which are essential viewing. Deep Impact is the good one and Armageddon is the one with the legendary Ben Affleck commentary where he completely loses it over how stupid the plot is. (If watching Scream leads to calls for Scary Movie then any viewing of Deep Impact should be followed by Don’t Look Up.)

FranciscoGios

People go crazy with Unbreakable 😆, I haven’t rewatched so I will revisit with you guy’s first reaction.

Garrett Mazzuca

A few random movie recommendations: Quiz Show Catch Me If You Can The Big Short 3:10 to Yuma The Other Guys Insomnia Memento Knives Out Parasite Prisoners 12 Angry Men (1957) Us Nope Field of Dreams National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

steve

Another Eddie Murphy rec....Bowfinger

Joe Williams

Piggybacking off a few comments to make some suggestions for older movies: 12 Angry Men Some Like It Hot The Night Of The Hunter Roman Holiday

James B

The Talented Mr Ripley

Deserana12

Just some recommendations - The Social Network Memento Lucky Number Slevin

Mycenaeus

Psycho (1960) The Flight of the Phoenix (1965) Strangers on a Train (1951) Rosemary's Baby (1968) Lost Highway (1997) The Birds (1963) North by Northwest (1959) The Fog (1980)

MPH

Casablanca is the only movie on this list actually worth watching. Maybe Unbreakable. But, I can't always get what I want. Maybe next poll!

Brandon Meng

casablanca is the easy choice for me here (must also see 12 angry men for an old classic or maltese falcon for classic film noir), honorable mentions to TDWP and unbreakable dying for any of the following on a poll (in this order): perks of being a wallflower (drama) manchester by the sea (drama) forgetting sarah marshall (comedy) three billboards outside ebbing, missouri (drama) the other guys (comedy) black swan (drama) gran torino (drama)

Michael Bourke

lots of good movies here. Doesn't look like it's going to win but Casablanca is an absolute classic though, a whole bunch of lines that will have you saying 'is that where this came from?'. Definitely worth watching at some point.

ThePVO

When George does his ‘Competent People Doing Stuff Competently’ poll, I’d like to suggest the three best journalism movies: All The Presiden’ts Men (1976) Alan J. Pakula The Insider (1999) Michael Mann Spotlight (2016) Tom McCarthy No one has done a reaction to either All The President’s Men or The Insider yet.

Johen Kay

unbreakable hands down... plus, it creates a movie path to Split and Glass. Split is one of the best movies Night has made.

Anodyne

I think a lot of people don't really understand Hanna, but I think George and Simone will. I hope they do watch it.

Clinton Ward

Waiting for the day Pitch Black and Memento are reacted to.

Mark D

yay cant wait for unbreakable and i hope they will watch Split after.

Lonnie Vannatter

my first poll deep impact loved it you guys should checkout the movie Red

Jobbe Smit

Kinda shocked Meet Joe Black is doing so poorly, poor Simone :(

Mastervodo

Blue Eye Samurai is damn good, recent, short and amazing animation!

Lopaka

Horrible Bosses 1 and 2 are great comedies. The Other Guys as well.

K W

I would recommend two David Fincher films you haven't seen yet - The Social Network (2010) and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011), The original Swedish version is also great. Would also love to see you continue the How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy, as I love 2 and 3 just as much as the first.

WastedPo

I totally missed voting in this poll. Luckily, the movie I would've voted for ended up winning anyway.

Mark McConnell

Just gonna say it. Some of the these movies are good but none of them hold a candle to Casablanca. Absolute classic. A movie where almost every line is iconic and the cast is perfection, down to the smallest characters. Funny, smart, emotional, patriotic in a real and relatable way. In contention, always, as the greatest movie ever made. You MUST watch this. Edit: one last thing about Casablanca, rewatchability is off the charts. It becomes like an old friend you love having around during good and bad times to escape with.
