Sheesh... this is a tough one. I think my preferences in order would be Dazed, Jerry, Wayne, and Lock Stock. Not throwing votes to Toy Story or Pretty Woman, as good as they are, solely because I always prefer when neither of them has seen the movie.

MotoDork

Toy Story was 95 I believe.

Eric Mc Daniel

Just a correction, Toy Story came out in 95, not 91

Michael Gross

Please do Lock Stock... It's the best Guy Ritchie Film in my eyes!

Elvenwitch

Can't vote more than once.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Wayne’s World is probs gonna win but Toy Story and Lock Stock are both terrific choices. The latter was one of the best capers of the decade for sure

JayF

Anything but American Beauty which has aged like a misplaced container of Indian food in the back of a cab in Texas.

von Hule

American Beauty, people!!!

Lee Meehan

Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Party Time! Excellent!

Dahjanira Arbelo-Crespo

My choice is Pretty Woman... People thought it was just a silly "chick flick" but they just didn't get the point... My second choice would be Wayne's World... Also if I can make a recommendation or two... from around that same time Encino Man (1992) and Airheads (1994) both with Brendan Fraser if not done already

Zhivko Yakimov

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a very interesting, and technically an independent film, as Guy Ritchie was not famous at the time. It also has the first feature appearance of Jason Statham, who fits these kinds of roles much better than his current lean towards action. Arguably, Snatch is better, but it is worth taking a look at this one, as you can see how much one can do creatively with little money. If you want some other typically 90s films, I would recommend Reality Bites (1994) or What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), these are very much grunge-era, Gen X kind of movies. If you want to for the more mystical path, try Dead Man (1995), it is very weird, yet unique work by Jim Jarmush. Singles (1992) is often mentioned in 90s cinema, but I don't think it is that good, though its soundtrack definitely is. For a funnier vibe, you may try From Dusk Till Dawn (1994), it is a Robert Rodriguez movie, but it features Quentin Tarantino, who probably had input on the script, or at least dialogue. Speaking of Tarantino, True Romance (1993) is shot on his script.

Jay Davis

"Frank's Pretty Woman" is a far superior story than the original. What could be better than watching Danny Devito search for true love? And it's got Tiger Woods acting debut as well.

Jason Rivero

American Beauty will never win in a poll but I really hope you guys get to watch it someday.

Rachel W

Pretty Woman is god awful. So is American Beauty.

Rachel W

Two 90s films they should watch as a double feature are two Tarantino written films--"Natural Born Killers"(1994 ), directed by Oliver Stone with an absolutely terrifying Woody Harrelson and Robert Downey Jr and "True Romance"(1993)directed by Tony Scott and starring Patricia Arquette, Christian Slater and Brad Pitt.

Random Nevermind

Thanks again Cinebinge. U r the best. For the next 90s poll please consider: Nothing to Lose (1997) - nice, fun, great, simple, easy to watch and slightly grotesque but almost forgotten comedy. Twelve Monkeys (1995) - brilliant movie. Sad, dark, depressive, psychedelic and unusual. Brad Pitt is insanely good.

Karen A

American Beauty is great but probably not a crowd pleaser. But I love it!

Ian Hunt

Sad to see Jerry Maguire not getting much love 🙁

Diiego

Yess Dazed and Confused !

Martin

I went with Wayne’s World, American Beauty, and Jerry Maguire. Can’t go wrong with any of those movies.

Joe Williams

It won't win, but Dazed and Confused is one of my favourite films of all time. Maybe we'll get it one day☺️.

James Falato

Wonderous, Wide-Range of Films... A Veritable Potpourri of Pictures... Good Stuff...

Rob M

Even if it never wins, George has to watch the Toy Story franchise, especially the first 3

JoeE

Would also recommend kingpin

Maikeru Dagurasu

Good poll, but unfortunatelly Election (1999) is not on that list.

TD

Requesting Super Troopers again, and wishing everyone happy holidays!

Henry

You should watch Her (2013)

TD

Requesting Super Troopers and wishing everyone happy holidays! Party on!

Tomcats62

Jerry Maguire for me. I'd love to see reactions to these movies. Not all 90s movies but good. Bad Boys, American Gangster, De ja Vu, Crimson Tide, Unstoppable, White Men Can't Jump, Money Talks, Beverly Hills Cop 2

Thomaz Chagas

- Almost Famous (2000) - Big Fish (2003) - Make sure Simone is hydrated before watching.

Charles Gaba

Correction: Toy Story was released in 1995, not 1991.

Joits

Man, that's a great list! I hope at some point we get to see reactions for everything here. Went with Wayne's World because I love watching reactions to comedies and Waryne's World is a classic!

China Andronicus

Jerry Maguire needs more love. Such a great film.

soup3097

Even though its going to lose, hopefully you sneak in a viewing of Dazed and Confused. Just an absolute classic

David Crabtree

Dazed & Confused is an absolute classic, and just celebrated its 30th anniversary this fall.

Dag Einar Bergli

Voted for both Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and American Beauty, but really hope Lock, Stock wins. Even better than Snatch imo.

Labcurmudgeon79

Forgive me if you have already watched this, but I dont think you have. Boondock Saints. Cool and weird inde movie from the 90s.

FischerMax98

Dazed and Confused is under appreciated I feel, so voted for that, Wayne's World and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

FischerMax98

Mike Myers most iconic role.. Wayne Campbell or Austin Powers? Got to be Wayne right?

Tiago Borges

I voted for Jerry Maguire, but man, I will be happy with anything from this list.

Mister Forbez

Wayne's World will always hold a special place in my cold, dead heart. As does its very underrated/underappreciated sequel.

sarCC

Toy Story feels to me like the only must-see in this list,. Two other great 90s movies I'm sure you'll love are RUN LOLA RUN and GROSSE POINTE BLANK. Two really witty crime movies(the former is more fast-paced thriller, while the latter is more comedy-action[and stars John & Joan Cusack in two of their best performances]).

G P

The Game (1997), 12 Monkeys (1995)

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

Oh for the love of Pete... just do all of them ..who's it going to hurt lol ..they're all good lol

Brendan Rafferty

No. Fuck no. How is a masterpiece like American Beauty losing to Wayne’s World?

Brendan Rafferty

You know what else came out in the 90’s? Deep Impact Just saying.

jmundt33a

That STILL isn't the right year for Toy Story, but since I'm not voting for it anyway, that feels like a nitpick. I voted for Pretty Woman on quality and fun and Lock Stock based on completionism. Snatch is a similar ride where the characters are more easily introduced. Having been through that, enjoy the early Ritchie chaos. American Beauty remains excellent, but context about...people...makes it even more problematic than it was when it came out. I will always be baffled by the popularity of Wayne's World, but I'm willing to accept it as a mystery of Gen X and resurface later.

Jonny

Arachnophobia- Will give you chills

Onikaze

Legend (1985) :Darkness (Tim Curry) seeks to create eternal night by destroying the last of the unicorns. Jack (Tom Cruise) and his friends do everything possible to save the world and Princess Lili (Mia Sara) from the hands of Darkness. Enter a world of unicorns, magic swamps, dwarfs and rainbows.

Michael

Annette Benning is so good in American Beauty.

Wrencher86

You guys will have fun with Wayne's World. Glad to see Lock/Stock doing well, also. It's at least as good as Snatch with a little more of the charm that can only come from the early work of good directors.

AstralCars

Please do a poll of the 1970’s in the future! Thanks! 🙏

Johen Kay

Lock stock and two smoking barrels is by far the best movie in the list.

Logan Kerlee

While I love Wayne's World I've gotta have my man George watch Toy Story! That one's a classic that should be watched by all.

Patrick

I mean....Toy Story is great and all....when you're a kid. The rest are classics.

Logan Kerlee

Also, wasn't Toy Story from 1995? Or is a totally different Toy Story up there?

BangDroid

Show me the money!

BangDroid

I'm what George would call a Tumblr Girl; my votes are always the lowest lol

sol stapleton

oh my god i love lock stock, yesssss

Travis H

Well today I learned that Wayne’s World came out in the 90s, I always thought it was a 80s film. Anyways I’m voting for Jerry Maguire and Toy Story. Do we know if Simone has seen any of the other Toy Story movies or just the first?

Ryan D

To be fair, 'Dazed and Confused' is a a 90s movie that takes place in the 70s.

Jay

I fucking hate Wayne's World........ NOT! I probably should. I usually hate movies based on SNL skits, but I've always loved Wayne's World.

mpd

Every time George does the countdown to start a movie in a full length reaction, and Simone is subtly nodding her head, I'm reminded of a certain scene in Wayne's World.

Bon Wa

What happened to Breaking Bad? Will it come back? :)

Brandon Meng

Jerry Maguire is my favorite film on this list but Wayne's World is so much fun and a deserved winner if it hangs on. For future consideration: Perks of Being a Wallflower Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Manchester by the Sea Nebraska For Christmas: Home Alone 2 Love Actually 90s films: The Game Life is Beautiful Scent of a Woman Cheers!

Roxolan

My usual suggestions: - Brazil (1985, sci-fi dystopian dark comedy) - The Game (1997, mystery thriller) - Pleasantville (1998, earnest comedy-drama-scifi) - Hero (2002, colourful atmospheric wuxia) - Annihilation (2018, cosmic horror)

Keen7981

Empire Records (1995)! Think The Breakfast Club, but at a record store and for 90's kids.

GBmain

Jerry Maguire would be a really fun watch, that's like a pure shot of nostalgia for me... all pretty quality movies on this list.. nothing out of the box though

michael clarke

first poll in a long time i have no issue with. i would def rather see a reaction to dazed and confused. that movie was really special to me in my youth and i really cant say how many times ive seen it, however, waynes world is a lot of fun and you both are going to have a blast. :)

Alex Ch

Feels like the Patreon community has been asking for comedy lately. I think Super Troopers would be a hit? I’d enjoy it.

Logan Nelson

Too many references are going to go over their heads in Waynes World to get my vote... Had to go Dazed and Confused and Jerry McGuire (just to see how they react to a "non Ethan Hunt" Cruise)

MPH

All these movies are worth watching, but the correct answer is Clerks.

David N

I'm happy to see polls that are broken up by decade. The most recognizable one will still win but at least its not due to an age bias. Keep up the good work guys!

Choi_Yujin_Stan_Account

Sticking w the Poll theme...some 90s films requests - Magnolia (1999) - Election (1999) - Sense and Sensibility (1995) - Waiting for Guffman (1996) - The Crying Game (1992) - Boyz N the Hood (1991)

Kate Suhr

Will you react to Home Alone 2 Lost in New York since you reacted to the first one last Christmas? Also that just made me realize that I've been a patreon for a full year now lol. You two are awesome!

Jacob King

Voting for Lock Stock. There’s no possible way Toy Story is from 91 so I assume that’s meant to be the Robin Williams “classic” Toys which would be an interesting choice. American Beauty is an objectively awful movie that has aged really badly. It stars a credibly accused sexual predator as a sexual predator (except he’s portrayed as noble and misunderstood). It’s basically Lolita without any self awareness or irony. A genuinely brilliant 90s movie that should be on a future poll is Pleasantville (1998). It fits in the same genre space as the Lego and Barbie movies.

Kk

I NEED dazed and confused lol

NJJ

Remembering how much fun the "Snatch" movie reaction was, I'm hoping for "Lock, Stock..." on this go-round!

DELLboyDYL

Wayne’s World sucks

Den Radar Ryan

Ah the '90s. The last great decade lol. Saw more than half the good movies of the '90s in the theatre. We were at the old Paramount Theatre in town just about every Friday night. ♥️

Fernando Alamán

From the 90s I'd suggest the Emma Thompson's 1993 Holy Trinity: - The Remains Of The Day (top ten film ever for me) - In The Name Of The Father (there's a lack of Daniel Day-Lewis around here) - Much Adoo About Nothing (what a cast, so fun, thank you Shakespeare) What an amazing year she had.

Byron

It’s not a 90s movie, but while I’m thinking about it, United 93 is a good movie that’s also a Top 5 Hardest to Watch for me. Watching it is certainly an experience

Choom

I love your reaction on YouTube so i decided to buy a months membership here so i could watch full movies together with you, but everytime i do the movie on my end gets ahead of your reaction. I've tried to put you on 1.25x speed but then you're too fast. Does anyone know how to fix this because it's very annoying having to pause the movie like every 10 seconds to let your reaction catch up.

Dazzler & Em

It's probably to late for this Christmas but I do recommend Violent Night as a Seasonal comedy/ action.

CD

Tough poll, for a child of the 80s/90s. I’m glad to see Dazed & Confused, which is a Stoner classic that introduced the world to Matthew McConaughey’s cool; Jerry Maguier, which is your quintessential 90s Rom-Com (and introduced the world to Renee Zellweger); and American Beauty…which is really a great and dark film, that unfortunately has aged EXTREMELY poorly…all garnered a respectable number of votes. I wonder if WW will land, for G&S…seeing as they didn’t grow up with, and therefore have context for the characters.

Maikeru Dagurasu

Hey G&S, pls consider watching The Skin I Live In (Spanish: La piel que habito) by Almodóvar and The Platform (Spanish: El hoyo, transl. The Hole). Two more or less unique movies. Your reactions to those would be one of the highlights on patreon.

Skyruff Creative

You probably have seen them already, but for next TV show, I would love to see “the magicians”(2015) or “dead like me”(2003).

MacGuffinStuff

Aw man, Andre Braugher died, he was Capt. Holt on Brooklyn 99 but he was also amazing in Glory, with Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. It's not quite 90s, came out in 89, but a great movie.

Michael Buhl

I think Dazed & Confused is a far deeper film than it gets credit for. All the main characters make decisions to live in the moment regardless of the consequences. The fact that it all happens within a 24 hour period helps put the audience in the moment as well. Some other movies you can add to your 90's list: Miller's Crossing (1990) Defending Your Life (1991) Being John Malkovich (1999) Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas (1998) Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) Buffalo '66 (1998)

dave

Holy cow I want to pick them all. Whatever wins, you're gonna enjoy it.

August21

You guys see Primal Fear (1996) ? Should def be on this list.

TokyoLopez

when is the social network coming out, it was second in the poll and the big short came out before it

Lola Lirola

Oh, man, the 90s were the time in my life when I watched the most movies, what with being in my 20s and working as a movie critic for an indie magazine, so I have so many great options to propose!! (apart from all the great ones you’ve already watched, of course) Let’s start with a round of women protagonists: BEFORE SUNRISE - One of the best movies of the nineties, hands down, period. Also one of the best trilogies ever. A sort of anti-romcom: intimate and real, small and philosophical, simple but infinite. Boy meets girl distilled to its purest. *Runner up: VIRGIN SUICIDES - Also slow, hazy and intimate, but where ‘Before’ is about people truly meeting each other for the first time, these girls are the ultimate mystery. THE NET - Nineties speculation about what this new internet invention would bring have all become so quaintly delusional it’s always a fun time. This one also has Sandra Bullock in a Hitchcock mystery, and the first time anyone ever ordered a pizza online! *Runner up: HACKERS - Same applies to this campy mtv take on it, that now reads like that ‘how do you do, fellow kids?’ meme made film. But it has Matthew Lillard, and Angelina Jolie right before the world noticed her. Hack the planet! THE PIANO - New Zealand’s landscapes are much less tidy and much more untamed here than in LotR, as a mute white woman arrives to the North island in the 19th Century, as a mail order bride with only a piano to her name, and finds a nature as complicated as her feelings. *Runner up: HEAVENLY CREATURES - A true crime story that shocked New Zealand became Peter Jackson’s first departure from horror, as well as Kate Winslet’s and Melanie Lynskey’s first ever movie. THELMA AND LOUISE - Best buddy roadtrip movie ever. Best Americana landscapes. Women finally snap. Brad Pitt seriously owes his entire career to *that* upward pan. The movie that was supposed to change everything for women-centered films, and almost did. *Runner up: WOMEN ON THE VERGE - Okay, I cheated. This one is from 1988 (the big 90s Almodóvar one was All About My Mother, also great), but this is Almodóvar’s best work, exploring the intersecting lives of women also betrayed by men. CRUEL INTENTIONS - Teenage highschool adaptations of classics were a whole entire genre that somehow lived in the 90s, and this one (of Les Liaisons Dangereuses) is the most outrageous, campy and fun of all. *Runner up: ELECTION - Reessee Witherspoon shows that steely, take-no-prisoners side that would become her trademark in this dark comedy of highschool politics becoming real politics. TO DIE FOR - Nicole Kidman is always at her best when she plays tense and ambitious women with a glint of murder in their eye, and here she tries to hire Joaquin Phoenix (in one of his first movie roles) and things go very wrong. *Runner up: SHOWGIRLS - Female ambition is similarly dangerous, albeit much more naked, in this absolute camp classic. STRANGE DAYS - All the weirdness, malaise and racial tension of the end of the millennium is captured in this Kathryn Bigelow sci-fi about trafficking with memories. *Runner up: SET IT OFF - Bank heist movies take a gritty, real turn in this story of four black women trying to survive.

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

Speaking of 90s, I don’t think you reacted to home alone 2. Many people like it better than the first one

Astraeos

I'm proud of everybody for the votes that Lock Stock got. George and Simone, you must watch this movie. It's even better than Snatch, IMO. So, so good. Also an amazing soundtrack. I listen to it at least once a month probably.

Shreddy

Kevin Spacey's real life crimes kind of tainted "American Beauty". But it's really good movie, used to be my favorite film when I was in my 20s. Maybe the plastic bag thing is a bit silly but overall it has a great message about many things

Reid Mclellan

Apparently Wayne's world sucks, I guess I'm about to find out

Sheens

How is anyone voting on this garbage app? I placed one vote, and now I can't place another or even remove the vote I placed. These polls aren't even worth me tuning in for if I can only pick one movie

Reid Mclellan

some people might really love some of these movies you think are dumb, there are plenty of bad movies that I still love but like maybe chill with the insults

Jeff K.

Man I'm over here trying to place my bets as to whether the thumbnail for 2001 is going to be Simone as Dave, George as the space baby, or both. Or maybe the apes at the beginning. So many options!

BoredLittleLady

I finally thought of a 90s I like and think you guys might enjoy. Bad Boys (1995)

BEAwesome

You should watch the movie "Belfast" that came out a couple of years back. Its a very charming family movie that does deal with some challenging themes, I believe that you both would love the film. It also a semi autobiographical film about the film's directors childhood.

jackthegent

Need Dazed and Confused at some point so bad
