I feel like I've been waiting forever to see your reaction to this! I can hardly wait!

The BEST profile pics are ones that cut someone else out of them! 10/10 thumbnail. 11/10 FB profile.

Big Gee

Awesome. Great choice one of my favs. Been waiting for y’all t react to this

Jeff K

I enjoy how the discourse around this movie when it came out was basically, "Oh, man, they were way too hard on Zuckerberg" and now, in the decade-plus seeing what Zuck and Facebook have become, it's changed to, "Oh, man, that movie wasn't nearly hard enough on Zuckerberg."

Helly R

Best movie of the 2010s. Masterpiece.

Helly R

It is, but some of the Sorkiniest stuff was filed down by Fincher, which I think why this was an amazing collaboration.

ShoNuff3000

First time I watched this movie, I didn't know the twins were one person.

Jeff K

Same. I feel kinda bad for the other dude, who is an actor named Josh Pence who's been in a decent amount of stuff (Man in the High Castle, the Kevin Costner NFL movie Draft Day, La La Land, to name a few).

Hugh Jass

I love the thumbnail.

Byron Abrahams

The Sorkin-Fincher partnership was magic in a bottle.

jmundt33a

People curious about why Eisenberg got cast as Lex Luthor, this is why. The tech billionaire is the current conception of that villain archetype. And hey a shout-out in a reaction to a Sorkin movie. Excellent.

Happy Hanukkah

I'm struggling with what humor would be (retroactively) appropriate, so just this once I'll content myself with sincerity: I consider this thumbnail a strong contender for your best ever.

Boyan Konov

for another competence pron movie Spotlight is a must

HeyHeyJK

Yeah, agree that this is a great thumbnail.

Stephen

the Winklevoss twins ended up being early bitcoin investors and became the first bitcoin billionaires

michael clarke

george, i think it shows the super competent asshole does need some level of charm.

you asked a good question again, so i looked it up again: Historically, rowing began as a means of transportation in Ancient Egypt which later developed into racing between the pharaohs and noble Egyptians. In 1715 it was brought to England and the main participants were those of a higher class who possessed disposable income and time to place into the sport. Naturally, this steered rowing into a rich man’s sport, creating exclusive clubs and groups. With this knowledge, it becomes easy to assume that the hypocrisy of exclusion and elitism stems from its early formation.

sorry for the triple comment. simone, if you like andrew garfield, he stars in a movie called 'under the silver lake' by the guy who made 'it follows'. not sure if youve done that one. anyways, 'under the silver lake' taps into pure schizophrenia. im not sure if this is selling the film or repelling it. if you are familiar with REM's 'whats the frequency kenneth' the movie is that song brought to film. ive noticed your band shirts and the song is in keeping. look up the back story to that song. it has a real world inspiration. the film was extremely misunderstood, but me, someone who has experienced these type of delusions and had lost someone i cared about at the time it came out, its truly other worldly. the symbolism is layered thick and its speaking a language not everyone will understand, but i think with the context and relation to that song, i think it can be understandable even to someone who didnt live it themselves.

Chris Bruneau

Well, zucker-twat was portrayed very realistically!!!

Michael LaPorte

I didn't know Silver Lake was from the same director as It Follows. It was a really cool movie, seemed to me very much a look at Los Angeles culture and the kind of mindsets it breeds.

Ginger

I'm a bit confused, regarding the latest Youtube-post. Shouldn't this be Monsters Inc?

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I have such conflicting feeling about this movie. I loathe Zuckerberg, and Facebook, and I'm not sure how I feel about Aaron Sorkin. So I don't like to spend any time "with them." 🙂 However, it is a very well made movie, and Sorkin is GREAT at dialogue, and Fincher great at directing dialogue. And I always enjoy Simone's and George's insights on movies even if I don't really "like" the movie. 😁 As they've just done a "dialogue" movie, I'd like to suggest a classic: His Girl Friday - not a million miles away from Sorkin, and so much fun.

SnabbKassa

Yes. When the movie came out I knew it was inaccurate and I felt it was unfair to the real zuck, but now I am one of his detractors too. Meta has become the most societally destructive social media site.

Holy Shiite! TGIF 🍿🍿 EDIT: Hmm…couldn’t get a read on their reaction (maybe plenty was left on the YT editing floor). I think this is a VERY good film; Sorkin/Fincher! Then again, I’m a fan of Sorkin’s writing…though, admittedly, I understand it’s exhausting for some. One of the things I thought was brilliant; was the ominous tone at Harvard. It’s dark, moody…sinister. The idea that, something (someone?) wicked was being hatched. IDK…I guess I have to face up to (no pun intended) the fact that maybe a movie about how Facebook came to be, was more culturally significant to my generation (X and proud), than to “current” ones. I was never that hooked (now…a movie about HOURS of busy dial-ups, and THOUSAND dollar AOL bills 🤔), but as I never Twit-ed nor Tok-ed; FB was the beginning and end of social media for me.

JBK405

I technically still have a Facebook account, but I haven't USED it since the time when only college students were allowed to make accounts. My biggest takeaway from this film has always been that one line: "[Y]ou're going to go through life thinking that girls don't like you because you're a nerd. And I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that that won't be true. It'll be because you're an asshole." Speaking as A Nerd, I see this so often. Just the BIGGEST assholes who are 100% convinced to the very bottom of their heart that the problem is because they're a nerd, and not because of the asshole part. And seeing it encapsulated in this one phrase was perfect. Instead of needing to give a big lecture, I can just repeat this. The rest of the film I can take-or-leave -- it's certainly not a bad movie but I never cared about the "origin" of Facebook -- but they earned a + for that alone.

Dustin Duvall

Well said, and there's a big overlap between that guy and the guy who complains about women not going for the "nice" guy.
