Awesome. Will we ever get to hear those trailer tracks based off pop songs that you made (assuming once they're not so top secret anymore)? I like when some popular or known songs are trailer-ized. Sometimes it's simpler stuff, like folk songs, X-mas tracks, or nursery rhymes. It gives them a kind of new feel, a different feel. (And now I'm starting to imagine an epic trailer-ized version of the 'happy birthday' song, ahah). Regarding listening to new genres, yeah, we need to be open and try new stuff. You never know what you might start liking. And some genres might not appeal right away but you can warm up to if you listen to them more and more.

The thing with the pop songs is that, as you might imagine, there are licensing issues. But if they get accepted and put in to the library's catalog, that has a lot of public-facing material. It's kind of hard to say when that would be available to listen to, if at all. Unless it gets licensed and put in a commercial or trailer, then I'll certainly point it out! Funny you should mention Christmas songs, though... this Patreon may feature an unseasonal gift soon. The thing with most (thought not all) Christmas songs is that they are public domain. That means specific performances can be copyrighted but an original interpretation of the material is fully within scope of rights.
