Interesting. Thanks for this review. I came across this game on Steam a handful of times, but been unsure if it would be for me. I really enjoy sci-fi settings and stories, particularly about robots and A.I. Though the presentation and interface of the game didn't appeal to me much and looked like it'd be too much work to understand or feel immersive. Not being able to save is a bummer of course. I too like to sometimes check what consequences alternate paths give me. I guess I'll think about it if you say it has intriguing interactions with characters and gets you to think.

The game systems are really easy to figure out and the game does a good job of teaching it. The 'no saves' thing would bother me more, except I have subsequently learned some of the choices in the game are less consequential than I thought... which normally I'd find a deterrent, but given the strength of the story it tells, I don't mind. There are definitely different outcomes to certain character arcs, but it's kind of like throwing a stone into the river. The water keeps flowing. There are multiple endings, and apparently if you pick one that seems 'final,' it gives you the option to go back into the game from that point and continue. It so happened that at the juncture of various endings, the one I wanted was the 'continue' one anyway so I never experienced that directly. There is a final ending at the conclusion of the DLC story arc involving refugees. I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't like it. The writing is very strong, and the visuals work very well in practice. It made me want to produce a game in this same vein.
