Ah cool. Didn't know about that origin of the word "trailer" when it came to movies. Yeah, I agree with you, nowadays trailers seem to put in more and more crucial content and mild spoilers and you feel like you've just watched the entire movie on fast forward with all the highlights, and the only bits that were excluded are just padding. As for trailers we've enjoyed, I vividly remember this trailer for "Clash of the Titans" remake. Being familiar with the mythology story and having seen the original film, this trailer got me really pumped for the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfyunOnMGqM&ab_channel=Legendary And this one for the original Mortal Kombat movie will always be a guilty pleasure. Ahaha. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z843p5q000c&ab_channel=Jurassicparkfan1001 More recently, I really enjoyed a trailer for an upcoming documentary regarding the war in Ukraine (especially seeing that it uses one of the songs from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack, which somehow fits it really well). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_BSoB1kQIk&ab_channel=TheOrganizationofUkrainianProducers

The Against All Odds trailer is a pretty good one, and does a good job presenting the message cinematically with all-too-real footage. Man that MK trailer... 1995 sure was a different era. I never did end up seeing the modern Clash of the Titans films. It is a good trailer, wisely avoiding any attempt to portray Sam Worthington as an actor (I'll admit he wasn't bad in Avatar 2, though). I'd have preferred a full on traditional fantasy score there, but the rockestra arrangement works pretty well. My vote for Best Trailer Ever: Alien https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ5lPt9edzQ and its descendant, Prometheus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyz9ktII0dM Interestingly, the international trailer for Prometheus (that's the US one above) was much more sedate, and possibly more accurate to the tone of the movie, but the US trailer... perfect.
