Great tracks, like the last batch. No doubt will find myself using them! Really like these type of tracks from you as they are good at what they do and create a sense of tension, mystery and unease. Looks like the countup of songs is racking up big numbers now. You're 3/4s of the way up! Ah yes, Starfield. Well, that won 'the most innovative game of 2023' award on Steam. Not sure how, but there you go. It doesn't seem like a bad game. Just looks like Skyrim but in space. I'll likely try it out when I have a stronger machine to play it as I know its required specs are pretty high. I usually also don't get to play most games in the same year they release. Usually get round to them a year or a few after (either when I have a stronger computer to play them or they're a bit cheaper in price or I just find the time to get round to them from among my backlog, ahah). From this year's releases I've mainly only played indies - Darkest Dungeon 2, Sea of Stars, Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands. You could say I'm a sucker for turn-based combat. Though I picked up System Shock remake from Steam's Winter Sale also and will be trying it out soon.

Starfield is weird in that there are ways it actually is innovative (like how it handles New Game +) and aspects that are very regressive (like... most of it). I played Fallout 3 not long before starting Starfield, and sometimes it felt like a progression of the same ideas or a reskin but with much more depth of narrative. Bethesda being Bethesda, I guess, but if you like the kind of game experience they provide that isn't a bad thing. I wouldn't have given it an award for innovating, but it is not without invention. I also don't place much value on awards shows. I just started Sea of Stars. It's definitely a change of pace! And it hits the nostalgia zone hard, which for me was formed by Sega Genesis with Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force II. The art in SoS is beautiful. I'm hoping it will provide that classic feel without getting bogged down in some of the less enjoyable tropes of the day (like random battles every three steps).
