The Company - 5.4.204

  • The story now runs until the end of October 17th
  • Removed event with Diana and Sophie in the records office. It didn't contribute anything to the game and made for awkward scheduling display issues
  • Introduced Lauren to the game, intro event on October 16th
  • Starting on October 16th, Lauren will occupy the records office and can be interacted with there
  • Added conversations for Lauren
  • Added dynamic events for Lauren

Fixes

  • Uploaded fixed version with working event on October 12th
  • Uploaded fixed version with working Lauren introduction event

might want to suggest people start new games cause the lauren addition breaks something in old saves, also is there any sex on the sophie friendship path?

Can you let me know what errors you're getting? It should have loaded without issues.

Just got an error when trying to [Go Home] on the evening of October 12: Error: <<include>>: passage "Story-CH3-DianaLeaving" does not exist This stops me from returning home, so it pretty much breaks the game. This was on a new game, not an old save.</include>

Morning of October 16, at the office: Error: <<include>>: passage "CH3-MeetLauren" does not exist This time refreshing doesn't help unfortunately...</include>

I'm just building suspense for the Lauren intro! Refresh should fix now.

Not sure about how the game just ends now - I always enjoyed being able to play out what my character was going through regardless of whether the main story was still going. Is this a temporary measure because of recent/incomplete changes that would make continuing unworkable, or is it a more permanent decision?

westane

It's temporary for the pre-alpha phase of this update as I'm focusing on linear story content. Once the end of Chapter 3 has been reached, this will be reverted.

The link to "Play Online" goes to a version that says it's "Pre-Alpha 5.4.203" Is that just a mistake in the description of the version or is it actually going to an incorrect version? Also, will the new update need new images that can be added to our C: drive version?

westane

I noted the error you posted but deleted the post because it blew up the comments section :) The version number is a cosmetic issue and I'll have it fixed in the next release. Thanks!
