Technical Update: Vanilla-Like Imports & Realistic Audio Distance (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone,
We have some major technical breakthroughs to share with you today regarding our development process.
First, we have completely overhauled our audio import method. One of the biggest challenges with importing new audio is making it fit naturally into the game's environment without losing its original character. With our new approach, imported sounds now achieve a true "vanilla-like" render. They blend seamlessly with the game's native audio engine, meaning they no longer feel out of place or artificially altered, all while perfectly retaining the raw quality of the original source files.
Second, we have successfully cracked and improved the audio render distance management. We have retuned this function to be strictly grounded in reality. You will now hear vehicles from a greater, more accurate distance with proper acoustic drop-offs. We deliberately avoided making it exaggerated or unrealistic; it simply behaves exactly how engine sound travels and fades in the real world.
These new foundations are a game-changer for the quality of our upcoming profiles. We are currently testing these changes in-game, and the results are exactly what we have been aiming for.
Thank you for your continued support. It is your backing that gives us the time to dig into the files and break through these technical barriers.
