Weekly Progress Update [13/JUL] (Patreon)

Hi all, hope your weekend has been nice and relaxing 💖

I've been making a start on CH14 and so far it's been going well! Got about 4k words down this week, though it's mostly been for scattered/disconnected scenes. I notice that I'm not really a "from point A to point B" kind of writer, I get the most work done when I chip away at the scenes I'm most interested in writing first and then fill things in later.

For this chapter, that meant I wrote a bit for R's scene at the beginning! This one will have a big romance choice to make that will impact their relationship pretty heavily, like how X and D got last chapter. No pressure though 🤪

Aside from that I also wrote a bit for their platonic scene, I really enjoy their relationship with the Crown whether romantic or friendship-wise. They're basically each other's confidantes, which kinda comes with the territory of their respective titles as well, but they both feel like they have something to prove as the Crown/Sorcerer.

Other than R's scene I've also written a bit for X in a later part of the chapter, which was a fun bit of flavor displaying their popularity. Of course the MC and the reader knows about their reputation, but you haven't really seen it in action yet as X hasn't had many interactions on-screen with ordinary citizens. Out of all the LIs X is the most famous of them, though, and the most beloved by the people, so you'll definitely see that come through once the Crown and their party leave the city!

Speaking of which, the crowd that bids your expedition farewell may or may not have some mixed reactions depending on the political decisions you've made so far... I'm still determining the exact criteria for it, but it'll be another marker to gauge where your Crown is at politics wise after the previous court meeting (as well as all the other decisions you've made from CH9 onwards).

I also had some fun with the Crescent Blades reappearing in the main story!! It's been a while since the Crown got to interact with them, particularly Heval and Tujo and Sanazi, so that will be a fun opportunity for the Crown to catch-up with them 💖 The expedition will feature the Blades heavily, so you'll get several opportunities to build your friendship up with them during this chapter and the next.

That's all I've been writing so far, my head's kinda dizzy from all the variations I'll have to tie up this chapter 😵‍💫 But hopefully I can get around 15k words in during the month of July, and I'll be happy with my progress!

This week I'll also be uploading A's character snippet for tier 2+, you can expect that one on Friday 🫶🏼 And maybe some previews and sneak peeks depending on how much writing I get done, but no guarantees on that yet 🤔
