My father died two years ago. I've lost other loved ones before and since. It's not easy but hurts less when you reflect on the good times, a shared joke, a vacation together, there could be many fine things to recollect. Don't dwell on those things you should have said to them; that will drive you crazy. My condolences.

I remember when my father was dying. My advice to you is: don't be afraid to say your goodbyes to him while you still can--you will regret having not done so. I never got to see or speak to my father again after he checked into the hospital for the final time.
