I am the exact opposite of them in some ways. I've never understood why older people deserve more respect than young people. I'll also be friends with people of any age. I haven't had friends my own age in decades. When I was in my late 30s - I had a lot of close friends who were grandmothers and great-grandmothers. At the same time - I remember one day my brother coming to me with a perplexed look on his face. He said there were two little girls at the door who asked if I could come out and play. The three elementary school kids who lived on either side of me were also my friends. They were very cool kids. This is a big reason romances aren't my jam. I've never been into the rugged "manly" men. I was always more drawn to a man in a tux. Quick witted and elegant over brawny lumberjack. If you ever come across a book with Groucho Marx/Abbott & Costello level witty repartee, give me a heads up will ya lol

I guess romance has less to do with rugged masculinity and more to do with a very capable man who can be dangerous when provoked to defend. Which is very much the James Bond sort in a tux, being all witty and sophisticated. But yeah, I actually don't like romances in general lol.

hahahahaha Now I'm sitting here contemplating my ideal fictional man now. Bond SHOULD be my type but oddly never has been. Hmm... and then it hit me. Did you ever watch the show Pushing Daisies back in the 00s? Ned the Piemaker might be my ideal man. LOL MAN the banter on that show was delightful. It seems quirky and sweet is my thing. Thanks for today's moment of self-reflection lol Edit: Witty wordplay plus quirky and sweet... No wonder I'm so attached so Hongjoong and Seonghwa. It all makes sense now.

I remember that Pushing Daises existed, but I never watched it. But yeah, it sounds like your attachments are well-founded.
